lowkey the ultimate sin of moonlight (2016) is that it was the first of its kind and had insane success. so there was nothing like it and now there never will be. you can’t make a movie about gay cowboys cause brokeback did it first and you can’t make a movie about gay black men cause moonlight already did it. is that some bullshit? yes definitely and obviously. the way it is though

the secondary sin of moonlight is that it’s an almost excellent movie but instead it’s just pretty good. and because there will never be anything like it we’ll never get to see an excellent version.

In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly don’t get it. I call it the Pascal Method.

checked this on spotify cause i saw people on twitter posting like. kidz bop. first of all how were you old enough to have your own spotify account but young enough to listen to kiz bop. second of all i didn’t actually use spotify regularly until college, i bought songs individually on apple music before then. so i had no idea my spotify account has existed for so long. but yeah i listened to this album my sophomore year of high school and i still listen to it now. hugs to past me. she needs to grow a spine but she has great taste
