WONDERWOMEN, vol. II
Once upon a time, my friend Amy and I met at stage school when we were small and scared of dancing. We learned how to be braver together, but grew up a little and lost one another. We found each other again on a dance floor when we were fifteen, and have been dancing together ever since. She is burning bright excitement and lust for life, working two dream jobs in theatre production and travelling nearly 300 miles between them each week. She is fire and feminism and fucking hilarious, and boy, can that girl eat bread.
A favourite memory: Amy came to visit when I’d graduated in Edinburgh. I was having a heart-wrenchingly horrible time, with boyfriend blues, a rubbish job and fear of real adult life. It was the Fringe Festival. She dragged me out of my unhappiness and into a land of shows and mojitos; we danced home at 3am on her 22nd birthday.
A magazine about dreams and those who dare to live them.
WONDERWOMEN, vol. I
Once upon a time, my friend Ruth lived in a beautiful little house in a big unfriendly city, creating delicious things and gracefully dealing with life’s curve balls. One day, she moved across a sea into another land and began life anew. Now she makes the people of that old unfriendly city salivate over their computer screens, whilst having small adventures with a Dachshund named Sally Peanut Napoleon. She is Scotland the brave, all cheekbones and no contouring, cropped hair, clean sleeves, and honesty with kindness (which is the best type).
A favourite memory: one golden but breath-held morning, after her chicken Bluebell had been mauled by foxes, we ate breakfast in sunshine and she gifted me with The Flavour Thesaurus (Niki Segnit). Every time I paw through it for inspiration, I feel like she is in the kitchen with me.

Endings and Beginnings
Today, the seventh billion person alive was supposedly born on earth. Today is All Hallow’s Eve, the night before All Souls Day and the ending of the new year of those who went before us. Isn’t there some kind of perfection in that? A milestone marked by life and death.
This will be a lifeline, full of things that make me feel alive for all the moments when I am simply living. This will be something that I hope satisfies and stirs you, like spoonfuls of sugar into a cup of tea on a cold winter day. This is an introduction.
