“Actually, I’d prefer Dr. Morbius.” Michael stopped walking and turned to her, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his coat. “I’m at a disadvantage, it seems. You know me. I don’t know you.”

“I’d be surprised if your spell books contained anything relevant to me. I’m not exactly magical, not completely supernatural, and science has proven to be inefficient.” He sounded frustrated, but not at her. “But it’s very kind of you to offer. I’m sure you have much more important things to focus on.”

“A living vampire?” Wanda hadn’t actually met any throughout her days of travel and dream walking. “What an affliction to suffer.”
“Don’t feel too sorry for me. It’s self afflicted.” Michael didn’t exactly enjoy being what he was— but it was favorable to what he had left behind. “It’s far worse to suffer through things we had no say in.”

“True. And I choose to wear any color other than yellow. Never liked it before, and I don’t think it would look good next to gray skin and red eyes. Yellow seems much more fitting for you than me.”

“You and I? No. But the Jen from my world once helped me with a tricky legal situation.” He winced at the thought. They were murder charges, after all. “So I helped stabilize her abilities.”

Elsa tapped the red stone twice where it hung on her neck, suspended by the choker. It’s glow never flickered or changed. She shook her head at Michael’s words, a droll smile overtaking her face and matching her tone. “I’d hope you wouldn’t try that nonsense. I don’t want to stake you, mate. It’s a nice evening out.”
“Of course— why would we ever want to cause a scene?” He fought to suppress an eye-roll to match his smirk and sarcastic tone. “As a vampire and a monster hunter we both move through life easily and unnoticed, don’t we?”

Gabby’s bone claws were extended as she glared at the man, turning up her nose at his scent. “You smell like where they keep dead people in a hospital. Also I will tear your shit up if you come any closer.”
“Well—” He shrugged softly and let out an ironic chuckle. “I’m not fully alive. You have a good nose.”

When the man stepped forward, Steven noticed the red eyes and immediately took a step back, the entire thing reminiscent of his encounter with Harrow’s jackal. He’d had enough experience with monsters for a lifetime. “What?” He asked, not entirely meaning to do so out loud, but he couldn’t help it. The man was literally sniffing him and Steven should have been running but he mostly wanted to know what the guy smelled that was so puzzling. “Funny story, I don’t really know. I sort of… woke up here. Standing in the street.”
Morbius wasn’t here to cause trouble. Not tonight, not with this man. “Something out of your control, then.” He nodded in understanding. “I know what that’s like. Terrifying, isn’t it?”

“I’m not a ghoul. I’m a vampire. There’s a difference. A very big one.”

“Daimon Hellstrom, Son of Satan, Lord of Hell. I should really make business cards, don’t you think?” He said his eyes dripping flame for just a moment, purely for dramatics. “So what brings you here? Looking to drain the blood from my supple neck? Or perhaps here to make a deal with the devil?”
“No. People don’t believe me when I say I’m not looking for trouble, but it’s the truth.” Morbius didn’t need to be making deals with any devils. It would probably only make things worse for him. “So. The Lord of Hell likes walks in the moonlight, is that it then?”

“Michael Morbius.” The monster hunter knew the living vampire quite well. She readjusted her grip on her crossbow but didn’t raise it. “Still being a creep, I see.”
“Elsa Bloodstone.” He paused, glancing to her bow. “Still hunting, I see. At least we’re both consistent. What poor soul is on your radar tonight?”

“Not much surprises me, unfortunately.” When S.H.I.E.L.D. had stolen her child in order to weaponize her they had conditioned Ava’s mind to become steel. It hadn’t necessarily worked, and low socialization had taken its toll on her psyche. “No, you see, I don’t really have anything to fear. I’m only partially here.” Her form flickered in and out of view.
Michael’s expression changed instantly, watching as her body flickered with curiosity. “Turns out you’ve surprised me. What is happening to you?”
“It’s called a Bloodstone. And no, you can’t touch it.”
“Yes, Elsa. I know what it is. I do not want to touch it— but you can also put it away. I know you have it. And I am not here to try an infect you.”
“I don’t think it’s ever possible to fully understand the multiverse, but if you’ve got questions I can try to answer them.”
“My questions are pretty selfish. Self-serving, at least. Are you sure you’re still in the mood to listen?”

Steven’s field of view shifted from black to suddenly standing on the sidewalk in the middle of the night. As he tried to process where the hell he was and why he wasn’t wearing a bloody jacket at this time of night, he noticed the man standing nearby and shook his head. Bloody hell, it was like a jumpscare straight out a horror movie. “No, no, no nope. I’m good, sir. I’ll just be getting on my way.” He could have sworn he’d just fallen asleep in his bed, and the reality that he’d lost more time was starting to set in. Marc? He called out in his head, but no luck there. He was alone, and standing near a scary pale man asking him questions at that.
The night was young. Though truthfully, Michael did not need to be roaming around. The bloodlust was largely satisfied for the time being, but hey— the night air was nice sometimes. Much nicer than the bright sun, even though the air was beginning to chill during the day.
He took a few slow steps forward, red eyes glinting in the streetlight. Something smelled.. odd about the man he happened to run into. He was unable to pin down one thing. The voice and mannerisms didn’t match the smell of blood and death it was mixed with. It intrigued him. “You are puzzling, aren’t you? What have you been up to tonight?”
