Different Kinds of Lust
Aspen just stared at him. Let a vampire turn her? It was stupid and rash. How the hell had she not thought of it herself? She blinked, still processing. As much as Aspen wanted to fire back some witty retort, she was at a loss. People weren’t supposed to want to become demons—hell, she wasn’t sure she wanted to—but it’d be sort of perfect, wouldn’t it? The girl who had been cast aside from the slayers becoming a vampire herself. And then bringing down every blasted girl that had taken the birthright Aspen so desperately thought she deserved. God, was she crazy enough to really be considering it?
She was about to speak when Spike mentioned that he’d killed a couple slayers before. Her look of disdain softened, turning to awe instead. Aspen tilted her head as she looked at him, noticing the scar on his eyebrow and the defined muscles on his body. Okay, maybe he was kind of a bad ass. Except then he started talking again. Really shattered the illusion. ”What’s sad is that even though I don’t have all that power and just this medieval torture device, I am still kicking your ass,” Aspen said with a smirk, “Now, why is that, O Bad Ass One. Cause you’re selling something that I am just not buying. Two slayers? Really?”
Stay focused, eyes on the prize. His suggestion had rattled her, more than she would have liked to admit. Her thoughts were flying everywhere, but Aspen tried to force herself to concentrate. She couldn’t let Spike get to her, not when she was so close to finishing him off. But, fuck if she wasn’t seriously thinking about what it would be like to be able to tear apart some delusional watcher and his slayer. The rush, the excitement, the honor…
Was that flicker on her face? Was she considering what he said? Bloody hell, he hoped so. His options were running scarce. But she seemed to be examining him, looking at him a little differently. He made sure to stop messing with the chains above his head while she was doing her one over. Best not to alert her to the fact he was desperately looking for a way out and the talking was all him making some time for himself.
"Come on. Badass or otherwise, I'm not blind." His eyes scanned up and down her body. At least those could move without too much pain. She was still in the white lingerie she'd shown off earlier, but there were a few red stains on it. And of course she still had that knife in her hand. It was almost unnerving how attractive her found her just then. Almost. Cause after all, it just mostly made sense in a way. Leave it to him to be attracted to the women that could cut him down to little pieces on way or another. Figured.
For a moment, it looked like he was going to let her do just that. But he couldn't spill the whole bit about not being able to harm her. It'd ruin this whole I can turn you bit. Because as of now, he really couldn't. Sodding hell, just his luck. Get the girl interested in a proposition you can't fulfill. Still, maybe if he ranted and whined about the Initiative, he'd have enough time maneuver these chains a little longer. He might only need just that. He was getting close to being able to escape. Sort of. Maybe. Not really. But buying time was buying time and his was looking a little short. "Please you're only 'kicking my ass' as you put it because of the government, Blondie." He carefully did what he could to test the chains while he watched the reaction across her face. "Yeah you heard me. Some solider boys shoved this computer chip in my brain. Won't let me hurt humans without a nice searing pain shooting through my head. It's really lovely. Still, managed to escape them. And I'll find a way to get it out my head if it's the last I do."
"So yeah. Well before all that, there were two slayers. One in China, one in New York. Both of them had more power in their finger than you. Funny cause you were all promised that power, right? Someone didn't fulfill the order. Guess you weren't good enough for them." The chains weren't budging and the pain was getting to him. Speaking wasn't too much fun in this condition. All he had left, though. "Could show them, you know. Take the power all yourself. Screw their choosing ceremonies and what not. Or are you scared, Blondie?"
