-              Like every Sanders child before him, Oliver was born to an unbroken and long line of powerful witches that dates further back than history can remember. Somewhere in Europe was their ancestral home but that changed in the mid-1500s. They fled to the New World to escape the Burning Times - the witch trials in Europe that lasted almost 400 years - and moved around before becoming the first settlers in Salem. They remained there for several decades until the one in Salem began, forcing them to leave once again to avoid prosecution for the second time. Eventually, Los Santos became their new home and has remained so ever since.

-              He was almost killed in a massacre of the Anderson Coven when he was younger. The Sanders and Anderson covens had been allies for centuries, and Oliver was chosen to apprentice there as was customary for them. It was during the height of the Black Death that Oliver sought their help to heal his dying father from the plague when they were attacked by a vampire. The coven was slaughtered indiscriminately with Oliver caught in the crossfire as he was mistaken for a member. After it was over, he was the only survivor as far as he knew. To this day, he doesn’t know who the vampire was or why they attacked the coven but didn’t go looking for answers either.

-              Oliver is an only child but he wasn’t raised as one. He comes from a large extended family coven that consists of him, his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who were his surrogate siblings and they all live under one roof. They are extremely tight-knit and consider their home to be their own little village, which they are greatly protective of. However, they’re still welcoming to anyone if they don’t cause serious problems. His family isn’t rich, even if their very large house says differently, but Oliver was still able to live a comfortable life where anything he needed was always provided for by someone.

-              He contracted meningitis at the age of seven and was nearly killed by it. He was so small that there was no guarantee that he would make it but he still managed to pull through and it cost him his hearing. The illness damaged both of Oliver’s ears, taking with it the many sounds that he’d come to love over the years. It was from then on, that his life was never the same again. It became hours of uphill battles with learning to communicate again and how to accept he was a little extra different from the rest. With all the hard work he put into his rehabilitation, and the help of the Deaf community, Oliver was eventually able to navigate the difficulties of being deaf while living in a hearing world.

-              Most times Oliver is mistaken for being shy and quiet or dumb because he’s deaf, but he’s not like that at all. He’s very extroverted and friendly in actuality and able to befriend just about anyone regardless of their hearing ability. His heart is literally the size of Africa and he has the capability to love and find the best in even the worst of people, wanting only to shower others with all the care and support he thinks they deserve. He’s sensitive and forgiving but will not let someone walk all over him either. Accepting others and keeping an open mind when it comes to things is how he walks through life, treating others the way he would want to be treated because he believes it’s important and understands what it’s like to be treated differently. Although Oliver does have some trust issues due to being in two abusive relationships at a young age, it isn’t hard to get to know him.

-              He opened his occult shop House of the Horned God in 1920 to serve the witch community in Los Santos, providing all of their needs regardless of which path they have chosen. It started out as a humble shop that consisted only of Oliver, and occasionally his cousins, but the business quickly boomed from the rise in disposable income. Soon, it became well-known and a staple in the community due to Oliver’s vast knowledge of magic thanks to his family’s magical library. Over one hundred years later, his business has expanded but Oliver can still be found in that same shop as if time had never passed.

The nights that Oliver spent alone at his shop were some of his favorites. While House of the Horned God came about because he wanted to serve the witch community, Oliver truly appreciated the moments it was the shop that he was caring for alone. Well, he wasn’t actually alone when his familiar was glued to his side. Atlantes had refused to leave Oliver by himself during the vamping hours, the black panther trotting around as if in search of an invisible enemy and always on the alert in case someone tried something. Sometimes he acted like an older brother more than a familiar but Oliver guessed it was fitting considering how long they’d been together. Their relationship had begun the moment the witch ascended all those centuries ago, practically family now more than anything else at this point. Either way, Oliver was always grateful for the extra hand and company.

Now that it had been quiet for the last couple of hours, he began taking inventory in case there was anything that needed to be restocked for the following day. He fluttered about the shop with his tablet in hand, checking the many shelves that displayed a variety of items for every witch’s need. Thirty minutes later, Oliver realized he had run out of several different items that had become quite popular in recent years and added them to his list. Once he was finished, he returned to his previous place at the front desk where Atlantes was resting beside it. It wasn’t until he heard the panther warn him telepathically that someone had entered the shop that Oliver finally acknowledged the person.

He snapped his gaze up from the tablet and was greeted with a charming smile that was attached to a handsome face. Oliver could immediately tell the man wasn’t from around there. He wouldn’t forget a face like that so easily if he had seen it before in Los Santos. Just as he was about to ask what he could help him with though, the man beat him to it and placed a list of items on the counter. “Hi. I’m Oliver and welcome to House of the Horned God!” Oliver cheerfully greeted back with a smile. “Absolutely! I’d ask with what but it seems you came prepared.” He giggled softly and lifted the page with his mind to read it. The witch remained silent for a moment as he did, mentally running through all of the items in the store to be sure he still had them before he spoke again. “You’re in luck! I just restocked these a moment ago. Follow me.” Oliver nodded in the direction of the shelves.

Without much of a glance at the items, he moved from shelf to shelf as he quickly went down the list that was still hovering in the air in front of him. He handed each one to the man for him to hold until he came to one shelf that was far too high for Oliver to reach. That still didn’t stop him from trying a few times before he huffed and turned to the man. “Um…would you mind getting that for me, please? It’s the vial to the left.” Oliver asked kindly, looking up at the man with his doe-eyed baby blues.

It was the same cheery expression he remembered. Oliver had been a part of Danny’s life for almost 700 years even if only small increments at a time. Apprenticing under his coven as tradition, living through the slaughter of them while Danny was being turned. Their time in Salem right before the witch trails and then the longest time they spent together a hundred years later along side his husband. In all that time, that cheerfulness had never faded nor had the way that damn giggle could still produce a smile from Danny. 

“I’m always prepared, darling, but I guess you were the right place to go to,” Danny mused when Oliver informed him that everything he needed was in stock and gave a curt nod. Following behind the witch, he was increasingly aware of the hard stare from the black panther that trailed behind him. He peeked over his shoulder and gave a grin. “You were a tough one to crack, kitty. Glad we’re back to square one.” It was a low enough whisper that neither of his company would hear or make out what he said. At least with the glare, Danny was assured that the spell was still active and well on both Oliver and Atlantes. Neither remembered him and that was for the best. 

Danny caught each item that was handed to him with ease but there was a moment of rare nostalgia that licked at him. Not even for Oliver this time, but for magic. There were times in his life where he missed his powers and watching the witch so easily use it right now was one of them. It was part of why he had been so furious in the beginning with Damien. He had taken his most prized possession from him. He had been a powerful witch, backed by a powerful coven. He could have had the same lifespan he did now and while he had grown to love his existence, he wished there was a way to have his magic as well. He chuckled to himself then, a witch vampire. Now, that would be a twist. 

It was Oliver’s voice that snapped him back to and the breath he didn’t need was knocked from Danny’s lungs. Those fucking eyes! Those sea blue eyes had brought the vampire to his knees on more than one occasion. It seemed that even after over 200 years, the effect had not yet waned. “Anything for you, sweets.” Danny flashed him a charming smile and a wink. He reached up for the vial in question and proceeded to hold it out to Oli, but before the other could take it, Danny pulled it back slightly. “Has anyone ever told you that you have the most beautiful eyes and a downright gorgeous smile?” In the recesses of his mind, Danny knew that this was a bad idea. His reasons for ending things still stood and it was dangerous to toy with a spell of memories but he couldn’t help himself now that his sweet Oliver was standing right before him again.

Maybe the man’s frequent use of pet names should’ve bothered Oliver but they didn’t. It wasn’t the first time that a customer had sweet-talked him for one reason or another, and he had no issues asking someone not to. However, something about the man was different from all the others. The smile that the names placed on his face confused the witch and made him wonder if they’d met in the past. While his memories would argue differently as he couldn’t recall the man’s face anywhere in them, Oliver couldn’t place his finger on why this all seemed so familiar. He had momentarily contemplated if those feelings were Atlantes’ and not his own but that thought was derailed when the man reached to fetch the vial.

Oliver remained silent as he watched on, mentally sharing the same prayer to the Goddess with Atlantes that he didn’t accidentally hit the shelf and send it tumbling. While it wasn’t like Oliver couldn’t use magic to clean it up, that didn’t mean he wanted to. There had been a couple of times when a customer had carelessly reached for an item and knocked some of the others off of it. Thankfully for him, their prayers were answered as the man retrieved the vial without any issue and held it out to Oliver. When he went to reach for it though, the man pulled it back slightly to prevent him from taking it. It left Oliver confused for a moment until he realized he was being hit on. It was a compliment that he had heard before but it never failed to place a lovely scarlet on his cheeks. “O-oh, thank you. That’s-that’s nice of you to say.” He stuttered out, shyly bowing his head for a moment to hide the blush he knew was on his face.

Now that the man had thrown him off his guard with the compliment, Oliver was forced to find himself an outing to prevent him from standing there like a blushing idiot. Then he remembered this was a customer and not some random guy on the street, which helped shake some of the shyness off. “Is there anything else you need?” The witch asked him as Atlantes nuzzled against his leg to provide some comfort.

Who: Danny Whitechapel x @bloodofthewitch​ Where: House of the Horn God Shop What: In search of specific ingredients he needs for a spell of a local witch - yes, to cause hell upon Damien - Daniel is sent to the shop on the errand run. Annoying, but whatever. What the vampire didn’t expect was to run into a ghost of his past.

The Anderson coven was known for being extremely large and exceedingly powerful. Danny had grown up in that world - long before Damien had turned him against his will. It was another reason he had been so bitter about it. Daniel had planned to extend his life to be with the other but things had changed. Regardless of that, however, his heritage meant that he had extensive knowledge of magic and spells. It’s what gave him more of an advantage than Damien realized. 

Sure, his sire had his home bound by magic so he couldn’t cross the threshold, even if he had already been invited in, but that didn’t mean that the spell couldn’t be outdone. It was a theory but one Danny was interested in. This spell took a lot of ingredients and his witch buddy had sent him an errand run for the things they needed. Normally, Danny would have scoffed back at the audacity but for once, his filter kicked in and he did as he was told. 

Look for Oliver at House of the Horn God. The instruction had made Daniel pause when first given - a moment of deep shock rendering the vampire comatose. What were the odds that this would be the same Oliver? He had deemed it impossible but now, as he stood outside the shop, there was no way to deny it. Oliver’s intoxicating scent invaded Danny’s nose - so deeply familiar and never forgotten but yet, he refused to believe it. 

Danny didn’t love the way normies do. He couldn’t -  and he was aware of that to a degree. It’s why his marriage worked - they were equals and loved in similar ways. It was a rarity whenever he did find himself liking someone - let alone loving them. It had only happened with Syd since his turning. That is until he ran into Oliver Sanders - a young witch that was the embodiment of sunshine. Olive got under Danny’s skin and he doesn’t know how it happened but it did. Thankfully, his marriage had allowed for such a relationship to even happen but there had been times Daniel wished Syd had just said no. They had been together for five years some hundred years or so ago but despite being happy, Danny knew one thing - he could never give Oliver what he truly wanted.

The vampire’s feet finally carried him into the store and he had to hold his breath to not be overwhelmed with Oliver’s scent - fuck, he had always smelled so good. Keen eyes searched through the store, and it took him a second before he finally spotted the witch. It was his Oliver. Oli looked the same as he had a century ago - sweet, innocent, beautiful and those doe eyes Danny adored were still his biggest weapon. If he hadn’t been holding his breath, Danny swore it would have been stolen. His pipsqueak had always disarmed the vampire in a similar way only his husband had the capacity to do.
