Her jaw tensed, and red sparks flew out of her wand. "Perhaps people who make threats have power because they follow through on their threats. Like me. I did tell you to leave my family alone, and if you cannot promise to do that, I shall be forced to make your life miserable and short. Since you seem determined to dismiss everything I say, let's have a little preview. Let's see, petrificus totalus to begin, and then we'll have a few stinging jinxes, and I think I'll add in a confringo or two." She pointed her wand at him, flicking the spells towards him. "Would you like to continue, or have you had enough?"
It’s not mysterious at all, it was rather that I was thinking that there were other things that you would consider to be sadistic than this?
There are degrees of sadism, just like with everything else. I'd think it would be almost impossible to be the Head Boy without even a few very mild sadistic inclinations.

We just don’t fight like that.” And honestly, it was more messed up this time, because they were together. How is someone supposed to be after breaking up with her twin brother, anyway? She sighed. Maybe Bella was right and it was just a matter of time. She didn’t believe it really, not right now at least, but she wanted to. “We’ll see, I think.” She sat, and gave Bella a little side smile. “Thank you, though, for listening to my whining without making me shut up - because you can be honest, it was annoying. I’m tired of it, though. Doesn’t change anything.” Doesn’t solve anything. Doesn’t make me fine with him again.
"Well, no, Rod and I aren't related or even really in love. But none of us really know what we're doing, and we've all got the sort of temper that'll make it a miracle if we actually live long enough to see this through." Alecto was right, though. The two couples were in completely different situations. Bella ignored that; it wasn't convenient. At least Alecto was beginning to see sense. "Yes, well, it was quite annoying. And you're perfectly right, whining accomplishes nothing."
"Well, it isn’t? So you really think that even if he comes back and we work everything out, it isn’t just a matter of time until he’ll believe something someone says about me? Or something else, like starting to have thoughts about my faithfulness himself, that all that jealousy surely would get him to think? Because I only can see those things happening Bella, and whenever he doubts me again, we’ll fight again, and I’ll get hurt again.” But she would forgive him again, in the end. Deep down, she knew that. She just didn’t want to.
Bella couldn't help rolling her eyes at that. "That's not the point, Aly. This is a one-time thing, I'm sure of it. He's going to come to his sense sooner or later, and he's smart enough to know he oughtn't to always be accusing you of running around with all these men people think you're going with, because you're not, and you wouldn't. Not now, anyway. And fighting is natural. Every couple fights. Hell, Rodolphus and I are always at each other's throats. It's perfectly normal."

Alecto and Bones. The thought of them were burning into his mind like the alcohol that burned his throat. He flinched slightly as he drank the strong drink, slumped on the floor of an empty corridor. The common room was too loud. The Slytherins were surprisingly loud and saying that irritated him would be an understatement. Normally, he’d be able to put up with it with just the occasional eye-roll, but his mood was already rock bottom and he wasn’t much of a social drunk. Or a social person, in general. Especially when he was drinking as he was now. Drinking away the thought of Alecto.
There were footsteps approaching. Someone was coming. He glanced up, not moving other than that. Although it took a moment for his eyes to adjust to the movement, he saw that it was just Bella. Bella wouldn’t irritate him; she was one of the only people he could even tolerate. Someone as easily irritated by people as he was.His mouth turned up into a small smile. “Bella. Lovely Bella! You’re here. Come drink with me.” He patted the space next to him, gesturing for Bellatrix to sit with him, before taking a swig from the bottle. “It’s alcohol. It’s good,” he explained, as though she wouldn’t have already realised.
Bellatrix was not in the mood for the inane chatter of the common room. Alecto was off moping somewhere, which was fine by Bella. As awful as it was, she'd had quite enough of her friend's emotions. It wasn't that she didn't feel for Alecto, it was only that she wasn't willing to comfort her any more than she had. Their little chat that morning hadn't ended well, and she'd come away from that more frustrated than anything else.
Even the company of her sisters held little appeal, which was unusual. Bella was often in these solitary moods, but Andie and especially Cissy were always the exceptions. Not tonight.
She stalked along the hallway, not expecting to see anyone, and certainly not expecting to see Amycus lounging on the floor. Her steps slowed as she neared him, and her eyebrow raised at his greeting. "Lovely Bella? That's a new one." She sat next to him, taking the bottle and appraising it. "How long have you been drinking, Amy? Not that I'm judging you," she continued as she took a fair drink herself, "but there's not much to share."
Clearly he wasn't entirely sober. Bella's frustration melted a little. She couldn't be mean to him if he was drunk. He was one of her only friends, after all.

Remus could only continue to shake his head. Why was he even trying? Reasoning with Bellatrix Black was as useful as talking to a wall and hoping that it would bend just because of those words. And all energy he put into this was wasted anyway, so he could just as well save it for something else. He was too tired for this anyway. So he just rubbed his eyes, clearly being exhausted by this whole discussion. “You know what, just … just leave it be. You live your pureblood life and fulfil your duties, have fun with that. We will see who will end up on top top in the end.”
Bellatrix rolled her eyes. "Have it your way, then. Leave me to my life, and I'll leave you to what you call life."
"We shall certainly see who comes out on top."
Alecto sighed. “I do love him. More than anything. But he can’t just come and go as he pleases. I - if I do accept him back, how can I know it isn’t a matter of time until he does something similar again?”
"It's not as if he's cheating on you. He's only angry about the rumours. This isn't something that will happen again and again."
"Because you still seem to think that you can control what everyone does, and that’s pathetic if you ask me. I don’t call anyone pathetic, but you are not in control of everyone, you know."
"I don’t think I have them. I know I do. No one should be afraid."
Her amusement quickly turned to a slow-burning rage. She pulled her wand out and pointed it at him. "How dare you spout such nonsense to my face, you filthy little cockroach. You have no right to talk of my family, or of what I can and cannot do."
"I know. I just wished to not care for him, as I never cared for the others.” If she really saw him as just another one she slept with it would be so much easier. But she couldn’t and so she was angry, and sad and frustrated and hurt. She wanted him to see what he was doing, to come back, but still… “I don’t even know if I could forgive him now, if he did came back.”
This was new, and concerning. "How can you say that? You've been talking about how much you love him, and now you say you won't even forgive him? I don't understand, Alecto."
"I’m sure it’s music to their ears."
"Terrifying music, judging from their eyes. Do you know how wide their eyes can get? It's absolutely hilarious."

It may be, but I think it’s more your colour than mine. Besides, blood isn’t really a problem that I have with my clothes.
