As Oogie advanced on him across the beach in massive strides, John realized that if he was going to get out of this he would have to talk his way out. His sword was in his cabin, and Oogie could probably crush his skull with one hand and very little regret. Luckily, he’d had a lot of practice at not getting murdered by his more volatile shipmates over the years, and he barely even had to pause a moment before an appropriate tactic popped into his head. “I can see you’re angry, and I understand why,” he offered, placatingly.
“But if you killed me now, you’d regret it. There’s things you don’t know. Please, just—let me explain everything, alright? I will, truly.” His gaze darted around them and he lowered his voice. “But… not here.” He spoke loudly again. “Come inside and have some rum.” Then his voice dropped once more, conspiratorially. “We don’t know who else might be listening.” Hopefully that would be intriguing enough to buy him a few more minutes, and a few steps closer to his sword. Silver had no intention of breaking his lucky streak where surviving Oogie was concerned, even if it meant he had to spin a few tall tales to do it. “Please,” he repeated for good measure, with a humble voice that spoke of his great respect for his fellow gunner. “Just come share a drink with me. If you want to kill me afterwards…” John shrugged. “I’ll respect that.” He wouldn’t allow it to actually happen, but he could honestly respect it.
"Stop fuckin' talking all 'em words an' let's get to the murderin'!" He growled, barred teeth towards the other. Oogie was physical power but john actually had a few thoughts inside, it always gave him the upper hand. There wasnt a lot of forethought with oogie, it was act first and think later, which is why the blood could never come off his hands, why he would never leave the jolly roger until he was six feet under. The red haze slightly cleared as john mentioned rum and someone listening, something that made the other whip his head around looking for anyone around them. They hadn't noticed anyone before, but you could never tell with Neverland.
Oogie didn't wanna listen to John but something in the back of his mind, all the years spent together, made oogie slightly drop the murderous eyes and step forward again. "Better have some damn good rum to make me rethink putting your skin on the wall, them words better be worth your life, I ain't fuckin' around anymore; not after you vanishin'. An' if this is the only time I see you again I'll make the most of it." Oogie warned, looking over at the other hesitantly. Emotions weren't something they knew how to deal with, the pain of being left, the anger and confusion that plagued him all the time. It was easier to act with his knife than delay with anything that went on inside.
"Dont make me regret trustin' you."
