“Seemed fitting for one so radiant, do you not think…” he replied, lips turning upwards into a smile as he looked upon her, the look turning into something more of a smirk as she commented on the nature of his attractiveness. “You need not thank me, for it is a pleasure to bring you such gifts…” he replied easily, arm resting about her waist as she leant against him. Though he knew it was not wise to allow her so close, to consort with one so openly aligned with Pan, he was only human and he enjoyed the companionship. Between the trees or hidden in the nooks they found across the island, there were no side, no war, just two souls seeking companionship in one another and that was enough.
“How fare you since the last time we crossed paths?” he asked, raising his hook to gently brush a stray hair from her temple, leaning in to press a kiss there soon after. It may have been once a testament of his breeding that called for such polite questioning, but as of late, he meant them more; finding himself actually interested in Tinkerbell’s wellbeing. It was not something he chose to examine too closely, for that might bring on a bout of melancholy, which might be quite ruinous to the mood of their clandestine meeting.
“I must, if I don’t-well…one might accuse me of bad form.” The fairy replied as she flashed the other a teasing smile. However, regardless of her jests, there was a kindness behind her glistening blue gaze. Leaning against the other, she sighed, breathing him in. The smell of the sea mixed with scents of rosewater and sandalwood filled her senses, relaxing her far more than she had been before their meeting. Tinkerbell adored the closeness, how warmth radiated from the Captain, enveloping her being, lulling her loud buzzing thoughts to a low hum.
It wasn’t until she felt the cool hook against her flesh that she heard the other’s question. While she knew there was no malice behind it and that the intent was most likely genuine, she couldn’t help but frown. Her eyes fluttered shut at the kiss, trying to think of a suitable reply. The fairy knew if she replied in earnest she would be committing treason, but she did not wish to lie to the Captain, she wouldn’t.
Slowly opening her eyes once more, she searched his gaze thoughtfully, “I’m afraid I’ve been quite lonely…neglected even.” She breathed, her gaze moving between them so that she wouldn’t need to look into his eyes, “It feels as if I’m no longer needed or even wanted in camp. As of late, I’ve been counting the moments until I can see you again.” Tinkerbell whispered, bowing her head, ashamed to be admitting such a betrail.
To have his own words, his own life philosophy, turned back on to him with such flair brought a smile to his lips for but a moment before he tipped his head to the side in a conceding nod. “Quite so. In that case, my Lady, your gratitude is accepted...” he replied, a soft rumble of laughter escaping him for but a moment until he fell silent. He let himself appreciate the weight of the other leaning against him, the companionship of the moment before his brow furrowed at the response to his query.
“That pains me to hear, that you are feeling as such... I am glad the moments in my company bring you a respite from the suffering...” he replied, tone honest, for he could not deny that he preferred to see the other feeling happy and content. Unbidden thoughts came to his mind, for though he was concerned about his emotions, he could not help the keen intellect spotting a chance to coerce her to be more inclined to his point of view. It helped he wanted her to abandon his enemy and side with him, though he knew it was a great ask.
“You deserve better than to feel isolated and neglected, for you are wondrous...” he breathed, silken words falling from lips to entice, to persuade, in his charming manner. “You ought to be cherished by those you deign to spend your time with... revered even, for your company is a joy to indulge in...” he added, falling silent again after, letting his point sink in.
