Do you overuse a certain word that it annoys others but want to learn more underrated words? As  a  young  lady  who  enjoys  a  variety  of  words,  I've  been  thinking  about  suggesting  a  variety  of  distinctive  phrases  to  you  youngsters  that  want  to  freshen  up  your  vocabulary.

So out with the "awesome" because I've got a words list for you! You'll like it. Don’t be afraid. After all, there used to be a spice to life. So try learning as much as you can and see which of them I provided below tickles your fancy. 

What's buzzin', cousin?   (What's new?)

Argle-bargle   (bunch of nonsense/meaningless)

Instead of calling someone clumsy, replace it with a Hoddy-noddy   (someone who doesn't pay attention to where they're going)

Instead of plain “best”, say it’s the Bee's knees  (really great)

Berries  (the best)

Cake-eater  (a ladie's man)

Instead of glasses, you can say Cheaters/Peepers (I've used this one for my dad's pair )

Radioactive  (Very popular, I like this one)

You’ve probably heard of Swell which means good or can be used sarcastically (this one's my favorite 50's word )

Keen   (good, cool, great)

Hotsy-Totsy    (It's all fine now) 

Everything’s dandy as candy  (same as above)

Whooperup   (someone who can’t sing all those notes well)

Sewer   (person who can't keep a secret)

Instead of calling someone weird, say Pretzel-bender (which means a peculiar person)

Bust a gut   (to laugh very hard)

Razz my berries   (impress me)

Don't flip your wig   (don't get so excited)

Instead of saying you’re pissed off, say I’m Frosted  (Angry)

Prodigious   (great in size)

Pile up on Z's   (get some sleep)

You make the king's jive  (means Your English is very good)

Make the scene   (attend an event or activity)

Ginchiest   (something cool that is admired by others)

The cat's meow   (It's nice)

Unreal   (exceptional)

Rug Rats   (little children)

Instead of baldy, say Fly rink  (a bald head)

Passion Pit   (A drive-in movie theater)

Nifty   (cool, great)

Neat-o    (same as above)

On the hook   (in love)

Sauce-box   (your mouth)
