vent sketch + new name!!!!

made this while i was playing deltarune chatper 3 and 4 and it reminded me of how much i do enjoy undertale and deltarunes aethetic in general- idk what this critter of a character is called (maybe theyll just be criter) also new name!!! i was super inspired by the ami thompson raya it’s just ever since man. my friends had to here my long convos about it and now, it’s spread here

here’s my concept of a druun monster as well as a small comic panel of my rendition of raya vs the druun.

for the druun, it’s a mixture of an assassin bug as well as the forest spirit’s final form from princess mononoke, as I believe druun would’ve been better represented as ancient beasts rather than mindless metaphors of hatred and evil, could’ve been a cool visual too. and clearly the concept artists knew it, as they made some of the best concept work I’ve seen for a Disney film-

OKKKKKKKK SOOO some of my friends (hello back @macbethz and @cyclopsboxhead ) were working on an elseworld version of the marvel universe, starting with creating our own rendition of specific character we wanted to expand upon. my friend (hello @macbethz again) worked a bit on Charles Xavier, creating a cool 60s psychedelic edge to the character that’s really cool and u should check it out-

for me, i had been developing Callisto, leader of the morlocks, for quite some, primarily interested in X-Men characters that border on under-utilized to really see how much life i can breathe into this character, and thus the former cryptid turned protector of the diabolized was born. through reading much of her material, as well as taking inspiration from other materials, such as The Walking Dead, God of War (generally greek/roman myth) and a whole lot of listening to Siouxsie and the Banshees, i created my own little version of her that would fit in nicely with my friends renditions of their characters .

born in the outskirts of new jersey, callisto was forced to run away at an early age for her own safety away from her family as her powers slowly manifested, her tentacles growing ever larger as she aged. her mutant abilities activated the moment she was born, as her x-gene kept her from dying at birth. over the course of her life, what seemed to be a "normal" and "passing" mutant soon faded as her hands and eventually arms grew to mutate into something else entirely, her whole body following suit. as she lived in the wilderness, she was forced to raise herself, adopting the life of the game she used to hunt with her father. over time, however, she started to scavenge for books, trinkets, etc. as she would create a small little home out in the wilderness, where she would soon learn the skills and advanced understanding of societies and cultures that would help her eventually form the morlocks.

not everythings ironed out but, i made her a long time ago and felt bad for not posting so. hereyago heres to posting more of her as i develop further-

watched this recently whilst on a ghibli film marathon and it never dawned on me as to how intense this film is in terms of stakes. it really is an epic, with such an engaging protagonist. one of my favorite films that I’ve slept on for years tbh + cool solarpunk

doodling a tree with @cyclopsboxhead taking a crack at sustainable art.

we were doodling at a garden, and I realized I didn’t have any materials. and so, I thought this would be a good opportunity to forage for materials; sticks, rocks, fallen flowers petals, wood chips, etc.

i found it extremely comforting and relaxing, painting a simple tree with a dear friend with materials from the very earth that many would simply walk over.

art can bloom from anything.

after I was finished, I simply left the materials back on the ground, to be absorbed by the ground and cycle.
