The queen smoothed out her dress as she got ready to greet her guests. It was the annual Moon Ball, and she was admittedly a bit nervous. Would her subjects notice the lingering heartbreak from the King's passing that still marked her soul? She shook her head in an attempt to get those thoughts out of her mind. Today was a celebration. Today she would honor King Alfonso and pick a special Divine. Someone that would help carry what she and he worked so hard to focus on, the love between two souls.
She smiled remembering their love. She held onto that feeling as she walked to the door. She liked to greet the guests as they arrived. "Welcome," she said when they arrived. "I hope you will enjoy today's festivities." she continued hoping they would make conversation with her.
raine has been eagerly awaiting this ball. everything about it sparked an unnatural giddiness to raine, almost childlike. suppose the balls never lost that magical feeling to them. "of course." she eagerly greets her, a smile in competition to the palace lights. "you have truly outdone yourself this time your highness. i mean..." a quick glance around, the awestruck captures in her throat once more. "it is truly beautiful."
She stood just besides the doorway, watching the people dance happily in awe - wondering if she'd be one of the lucky ones to find her own match. She worried her lover may not have been here and, hoping they would, she could only hope they'd ask her to dance with them. Maybe it was young love but she genuinely felt affection for them and could see a future - as of now. And maybe it was her getting lost in thought or just being careless, but the voice near her snapped her out of her daydreams. "I truly apologize," she said, quickly turning to look at them, "what were you saying?"
" it's quite magical isn't it? " she repeats, not at all bothered to say it once more. it was the truth, it was a breathtaking spectacle the moment you stepped inside, the energy amongst the citizens dancing, laughter and smiles echoes and boomerangs. her heart has swelled three times large after personally greeting a few others earlier, their joy was felt through raine's heart. those certainly out weighted those filled with dread, doubt, somberness. she'd much rather let the latter consume her for her own enjoyment. " are you enjoying yourself so far? "
