Like most children, at the first idea of having a baby brother was exciting, but as time drew on and Max was finally born, May found herself resenting him. Little spoiled May realized that she would no longer get her parent's full attention, and wanted them to "take him back now" or something along those lines.
Though as time progressed, they still rarely got along well, they still found that they loved each other very much. During their trips with the family, May and Max would often go on little adventures of their own, getting each other into and out of trouble which made their bond even closer. They fight, they argue about their vastly different opinions, their personalities clash.. what more can I really say about them not getting alone? However, after maybe a little argument or fight, you would probably find them laughing together or helping each other out.
She admires her brother's thirst for knowledge and finds it amazing, but does not understand it in the least. Meanwhile, Max admires May's unbridled determination for anything she can set her mind to, but doesn't understand why she relies so much on luck.
In essence, though they have a hard time understanding each other at times due to their different personalities, their bond as siblings is very close. <3
Norman and May had an excellent relationship for the most part, but she often felt a little distant from him. When May was young, Norman would often push her to befriend Pokemon to try and show her some of the joy he had in being with them. However, because of this, May often felt pressured by her father to like them, and found herself disliking them more and more (especially after the tenticool incident). Otherwise, May always found that being around her father was fun, and going places and talking with him about things and listening to his stories was always extremely enjoyable for her.
May now finds the connection with her father strengthening due to the fact she has become so involved with Pokemon. She no longer feels pressure to feel what he's feeling, and they can simply talk about their experiences and tips freely. They're much closer now, and Caroline is happy to see that they finally have something to do with Pokemon that they can relate to.
Caroline and May were always very close as mother and daughter. Because May often felt pressured to like what her father liked, she would often go to her mom for things instead. Though May can often find Caroline's constant nagging and worrying to be extremely annoying, she still finds a way past it and still has a great relationship with her mother.
Caroline is a very intelligent lady, doing most of the home-school teaching and work around the house, but also feels it is important to have fun with anything you're doing. May has adopted this ideal and often looks up to her mother because of it, but has no intention of becoming a stay-at-home mom herself. In addition, May and Caroline got very close during their frequent the shopping trips they'd take together. She feels very open with her mother and will most likely tell her anything on her mind, looking for advise or comfort.
