Anyways Anti-Anti get mad and point out that antis don't like shipping of pedo/childxadult ships so they will pull out the argument that [media that anti likes] is problematic that that by liking it the MUST be excusing it. But that's usually not the case. The thing about shipping is that it's fandom generated content that can be moderated by the community (not saying that it should be but it could be)

Now when it comes to [problematic media] being "excused" it's not? Because you can't make that media change, it's a stamped sealed thing, can't change it from what it is. (Except with aus which is guess what!!! Fandom generated content.)

So I don't understand the argument I guess. Ppl think you can't enjoy a piece of media and still look at it critically?

Honestly the anti community has gone to shit, debating weather or not if a character is problematic instead of making attempts to keep kids safe from harmful ships and pedos. 

Ya’ll are attacking people who have done nothing wrong other than like a problematic fictional character. 

I’m disappointed and maybe this is why my wife left the anti community.....

Leave room for people with memory problems in your activism. First off, stop expecting everyone to know off the top of their head which famous people (or activists, or tumblr users) are problematic and why. Some of us literally cannot remember this information.

And when you’re arguing with someone about something social justice related and they can’t come up with any specific examples, keep in mind that they might have memory problems and this doesn’t necessarily mean you’re right.

Remember that people with memory problems exist and we can’t participate in activism the same way that others can.

sorry this is kinda random but.. do you think its ok to ship a 32 year old and a 39 year old together? i have morality and sexual related anxiety and im,, really anxious abt this rn.

If the people in question are fictional yeah sure it’s okay. They are both of age and in their 30s so I think it would be fine. 

Now if it’s real people (like the actors, not live action characters) you shouldn’t be shipping them at all unless the people in question have expressed they are okay with it (Like some of the people at RoosterTeeth for example). Many people who know about irl shipping find it to be really uncomfortable and a breach of privacy. 

For me, fictional age gaps are okay as long as both of the characters are of age and the gap isn’t bigger than say, 25ish years? But thats just me and what I’m comf with.

Just wanna say Blue's right! Keeping info is expected online. I knew many online friends by usernames for honestly probably years before i learned their real names! It didnt bother me at all!

Ye, if you wanted to keep going by the name you told them you can do that too. I mean, I went by Shady for a long time and for when I first met people. But as I got to know them I would let them know my real name. I am am adult now so I'm not as worried about people knowing my name online but I can't speak for everyone.

rlly random question but how does one tell their online friends that they’ve been lying about their name :(? i’ve had this tumblr for like 8 months now and used a fake name for privacy reasons, not expecting to really talk to anyone but then a month ago i was added into a group chat and we all became pretty close really fast and i really love and care about them but i feel so guilty for not telling them my real name :( i’m afraid i’ve waited too long and they’ll be mad and think i betrayed trust

No one is going to get mad over a name, trust me, as a trans person and someone who has trans friends, no one is going to be upset. If you trust these people, you can let them know you were using another name for privacy and I’m sure they would understand!
