The Vampire Lestat 3.06 Montreal 3.07 The Failures
Louis and Lestat blah blah they can't be together right now blah blah it's much more exciting blah
I mean don’t they get truly together for good towards the very end of Anne’s books?
And the show has already rearranged all of that. In the show, there is no longer a valid reason(s) for the separations. That's part of the problem.
Rolin loves to rearrange book plot points, which is fine within itself! The problem(s) arise because Rolin doesn't seem to consider how those show-only arrangements will impact certain later arcs (and some changes he does consider!), and this is something I've been saying about Louis and Lestat in particular for awhile now. Rolin has changed the arcs to where Louis and Lestat can be together in the show universe, yet he's inexplicably choosing NOT to put them together and continues to create half-baked excuses for the separation.
For example, this latest. He spent all of S3 putting them back together (when logically they never should've been separated given the reunion at the end of S2 but that's another discussion entirely that's been had numerous times by now) and now here he comes implying something else happens to have them at each other's throats again. In the aftermath of Akasha, book canonically, that's not the case, and there's no reason that should be the case in the show either. Realistically, Louis and Lestat should be each other's safe space after Akasha, yet that's not how it's sounding from Rolin. It sounds like he's inventing more nonsensical shit to separate them yet again and no, I don't think it's the body thief fight, because Lestat is referring to Raglan as a "friend" in the recordings. So the body thievery hasn't happened yet.
Combine that with the fact the place Louis and Lestat reach at the end of S3 is apparently so profound and impactful for them, yet Lestat still proceeds with the concert. What is the reason for that? Like I said, they're either throwing the Loustat development out the window or they're gonna create a valid reason for why Lestat would choose the concert over his future with Louis, because a good reason will NEED to apply to ever make me buy that Lestat would proceed with that mess instead of just leaving with Louis.
It's just very frustrating to see things being set up and yet it's as if Rolin is incapable of actually following through with the logical continuation. It's like he truly believes the nonsense "drama" is better than just putting them together, and it's not. I promise you, it's not. Everyone wants them together as scene partners. It doesn't even have to be happily married. Just stop fucking separating them and put their arcs together like he set up in S2, but has yet to commit to.
I absolutely adore dogs but I think dog haters are (usually) more justified than cat haters wrt their reasoning
your average cat hater: I don't like how they r bitchy and ignore me/ won't let me manhandle them
your average dog hater: I have been mortally endangered by an ill-trained dog

once I snorted a fat line of nuance and everything started depending. watch out
I will manage my expectations BUT I can’t think of anything else that isn’t either the nature of Armandstat or how Nicki really died (preferably both since they’re connected in a way)
Yes. And maybe even more that pertains to the witches' place, given the backstories as to why those girls died.
