Chapter 1
What Dreams May Come
There’s a place within the cosmos. A place that is a part of the human’s unconsciousness. This realm is called Visionary and it is made of every mindset during sleep. Visionary was manifested because of man, and there’s no way to conquer unless you piece together its ever ending riddles.
Within a small quite town called Sandy Ville, there lived a sixteen year old girl named Grace. Grace was socially awkward, and she only had a few friends. Her friends consisted of her sister, Joy, and Joy’s friend Stacy. Grace was anti-social, regardless of what others felt; she didn’t want friendship. Stacy and Joy allowed Grace to hang out with them because of her lack of friends. Grace was tall and slender; Joy was short and lean. Stacy felt a little out of place when she was with them because she was a few pounds overweight and came from an ethnic background. However, she was pleasant to look upon, and her personality was alluring. Everyone loved being around Stacy and Joy because of their blissful personalities. Joy and Stacy graduated from high school the prior year, and Grace was still in high school. When Joy graduated, she started working at a salon downtown. Grace would visit the salon every day after school; Stacy’s boyfriend, Joe, dropped her off at the salon every other day. Stacy didn’t have a job, but she helped around the salon whenever she was there. The owner Kathy didn’t mind because they brought more business there because they knew everyone in their town. One Saturday night, Joy, Grace, and Stacy went out to a house party at one of their friend’s house. When Grace enter the house party, she felt reluctant. When she entered the home, she glared at everyone with her big green eyes as everyone partied and danced around. She looked lost. Grace didn’t like going out much, but somehow Joy convinced her to come that night. As she walked into the door, Grace took a deep breath as she stood glaring at everyone in the house. Her heart began to beat fast. She thought she was about to have a panic attack. Joy swayed Grace that evening, convincing her that she would make it worth her time, so she tried to keep it together. Grace observed Joy and Stacy as they entered the party full of life; she wanted that life. Joy was the designated driver that night, so her plan was to get Stacy and Grace drunk. “Grace I’m getting you messed up tonight!” Joy said as she entered the kitchen and begin to mix drinks. The music was so loud; Grace could hardly hear Joy. “What? Mess up what?!” Grace replied with a bewildered look in her eyes. Joy observed Grace with her cold gray eyes and her mouth dropped. “Really?” Joy asked as she continued to mix the drinks. “I didn’t just hear that.” She said as she looked at Stacy with wide eyes. Meanwhile, Stacy had three drinks within an hour, and without warning she began to dance all over the place with everyone. There wasn’t any bias in her because Stacy didn’t care and saw black and white throughout her life. That night Stacy danced and hugged everyone she came in contact with. Everyone looked bewildered; however, they couldn’t help but dance with her. Grace wanted to bust out laughing as she stared at Stacy dancing around. Stacy saw Grace glaring at her so she walked up to her. “I going to teach you how to twerk, ok Gracie...” Stacy said as she slurred and tried to dance. “Drink this!!!” Joy said as she walked up and passed a cup to Grace. Grace was hesitant as she watched Stacy become more and more intoxicated. She wanted to join in and have fun because at that point it felt like an escape from her reality. “Come on sis.” Joy said as she waved the cup in Grace’s face. Grace looked at Joy with her big green eyes, and she jerked the cup out of Joy’s hand. She frowned at Joy and blotto the whole cup of punch. When she was done, she pound it on the counter and asked for more. Joy eyes widen with amazement, and she began to smile. Within thirty minutes, Grace was drunk. Grace danced with her crush Steve all night. He enjoyed every moment of it because he had a crush on her too. He stared within her bright green eyes and grabbed her hand as he groped her long brown wavy hair with his other hand. She stared back at him also as she smiled within. “You’re so beautiful.” He said to her. Grace heart melted, and she smiled and looked down as she realized how handsome he was. Joy and Stacy stared at them and smiled at each other and began giggling. “Liquid courage…Who would have thought.” Stacy said as she set her cup down. “Wow… My job here is done.” Joy continued as she rolled her eyes at Grace and Steve. She looked in Stacy direction and smiled once more. When it got late, Joy called for Grace to get ready to leave. Grace glared at Steve’s bright brown eyes and smiled. “Come on Grace…!” Joy yelled as she headed for the door. “I don’t want to go…” Grace said sadly as she frowned at her sister and looked back at Steve. Steve slowly walked up to her and kissed her right hand. “I’ll remember you…” He said as he turned around and straggled back to his friends. He turned back around and smiled. Later that night while Grace was asleep, she kept on having the same recurring dreams about her crush. She smiled throughout the night as she thought about him, but within her dreams everything escalated from good to bad. She woke up and set up; instantly breathing hard. The first thing her eyes caught was a shadow being floating by her doorway. The hallway light was still on, and she saw it clearly. It glared back at her with its big white eyes as it rushed out of her room gliding through the hallway like a black mist. Grace eyes widen with fear. “Dad!!!” She yelled in terror. Her dad rushed in the room soon after. “What’s wrong Grace?” He asked as he turn the lights on in her room. “There was something watching me while I was sleeping, and it went down the hall toward Joy’s room when I woke!!!” She cried out. Her dad glared at her for a moment and marched in Joy’s room. When he came back, he began to scratch his head. “Grace, it was just a dream.” He said as he set on the side of her bed. “I saw something dad. I wasn’t dreaming...” She said as she took a deep breath and stood up pacing around. Grace dad glared at her with a puzzled look. That night he set up with her until she calmed down and dozed off. From the time Grace was a child, she always had nightmares. When their mom decided to leave Grace and Joy with their dad, her nightmares became more vivid. She would see shadows in her mirror during the middle of the night. It was as if she caught their imagines at the right time. Joy wasn’t as affected by her mom leaving them, but her attitude began to change. She became more aggressive, and she didn’t give her dad any respect; even though he worked hard enough to make ends meet. Joy had no respect for him or anyone else. Grace was the only one who admired him, even though the situation was challenging. As a child, Grace would rub his balding head while he read bedtime stories to her and Joy. Her dad was her comfort zone. She felt as if he was the only one who understood her. Even though she had night terrors every other night. Grace’s dad never questioned what she had thought she’d seen during the night. One particular night, Stacy spent the night with Joy. Joy, Grace, and Stacy slept in the same room. They laughed and talked all night. Fun times. Everyone began to doze off one by one. Stacy was the last to go to sleep. While browsing through her laptop, Stacy glanced up at Joy and Grace while looking through her laptop. She observed Grace because she tossed and turned the whole night. She set up and glared at Grace. She slowly walked toward Grace and what she saw stunned her. “GRACE!!!” Stacy screamed as her eyes widened. Grace was kicking and fighting as if she was having epileptic seizures. Stacy dropped her laptop and rushed over to Grace. Stacy was reluctant to approach Grace, as she eased closer to the bed, she saw a dark shadow rush away from Grace. Stacy hesitated for a second and continued to help Grace. “Oh Grace, wake up, please...!” She screeched as fear consumed her. Grace laid there for a moment and Joy began to wake up afterward. “What’s wrong Stacy?” Joy asked. Before Stacy could reply, Grace opened her eyes. Grace rubbed her eyes and looked at them both with a chaotic expression. “Did you guys see it to?” Grace asked as she set up. Before Stacy could say a word, Joy stood up and began to hassle Grace. “Can we have a night without you overwhelming everyone..? You’re petrifying my friend.” Joy said as she began to walk toward the door. “Come on Stacy…lets go back to sleep in the living room.” Joy continued as she stormed out. Stacy followed her, and she look back at Grace with pitiful concerned look. Grace didn’t say anything back to Joy. She just narrowed her eyes at Joy with an offended look on her face. Stacy couldn’t tell Joy that she’d seen something hovering over Grace. Joy would have thought she was nuts also, so Stacy kept it to herself from that moment on. Meanwhile, the dream maker sat on his bluish crystalized throne speculating. His seat set below the firmament, and everything on the dark side of the earth was in view as he glared in every direction. He sat there pondering and focusing on the earth for a moment; he stood up and continued to watch the souls of every man while they slept. “How is it that she can see me..?”’ Not once, but numerous of times. She knows who I am within her dreams. I read her thoughts.” He said as he narrowed in his eyes and glared within the portal of dreams that appeared next to the earth. A huge black being that looked like a Great Dane dog set by his throne. The Great Dane stared at the dream maker with his droopy eyes. “Master, it’s obvious that she can see you.” The dog said with his deep doggy voice. At that moment, a woman named, Kat, glided toward them with her big curly red hair blazing like fire. “Wow that’s obvious Hound. She’s the one, and she doesn’t even know it… Poor entity. I sit and try to relate with them, and it sickens me to try.” Kat said as she flopped down next to the Great Dane. “Kat that blue dress compliments your beautiful dark eyes so well.” A man name Fab said as he lifted his left eyebrow. Kat glared at him and rolled her narrow gray eyes. “You love me, don’t you?” He said as he tossed his long blond hair to the right. Kat chuckled and glared at the Dream Maker. “Enough!!!” The Dream Maker yelled as he glared at them. “Let’s focus on what’s going to happen if she realizes the truth.” He said as he set up and looked at the other side of the universe with his dark eyes. As he glared within the cosmos, he trembled inside. Everything began to transform into complete darkness and it was at that moment he knew his end was near. The Dream Maker existence was conceived through the implication of man, consuming everything that was ever desired. His only mission is for man to fail. His beginnings was conceived through the arch angel Lucifer. The Dream Maker was convinced that he was helping mankind by giving those dreams once. However, throughout centuries his intentions became demented, because he realized that giving man dreams was the only way of controlling them and conquering their true purpose. In the meantime, Grace was at school. She walked down the halls of her school in a daze. Everyone who attended the party was trying to get her attention. Grace smiled at them, but her mind was on the other night. She’d seen something out of the ordinary. All that day she thought about it, and even though her sister was a realist; she built the courage up to tell her. Joy would probably think that she’s crazy, but at that point she didn’t care. Later that day, Joy came and picked Grace up from school. Joy looked at Grace and squinted her eyes. “Grace what’s wrong? I mean you may be lame and all, but you seem to be a little distance these pass two days. I do care Grace, but I am your big sis. You can talk to me.” Joy asked as she began to drive out of the school parking lot. Grace continued to glare outside the passenger window. “Have you heard of the dream maker?” Grace asked. Joy looked at Grace with the look of confusion and she began to laugh out loud. “Mister Sandman bring me a dream…” She sung while she laughed. “Have you been listening to dad’s old albums?” She asked. “Yes, but that’s not it Joy. It was different this time. I saw the real sandman.” Grace said as she grabbed her book bag tight and glared at Joy. Joy looked at Grace and turned her lip up. She didn’t respond. The rest of the ride to the salon was silent. When Joy pulled into the parking lot of the salon, she stared at Grace for a moment. “Grace I understand you’re still upset with mother, but you have to understand she’s gone and if I could alter anything I’ll change it. So lighten up and don’t come in this salon speaking nonsense.” Joy said as she rushed out the car. As she was marched toward the door of the solon, she turned around and narrowed her eyes at Grace. “Poker Face Grace…” Joy whispered, while making a funny face. Grace looked at Joy and at that moment she realized her sister didn’t understand her. The rest of the day seen long and Grace began to get bored, so she assisted everyone in the salon. When she was done running errands, Grace set there on her laptop browsing the web. She tried looking for answers through the web. While browsing the web, she stumbled upon a website about the sandman, and she saw picture of a drawing. When she zoomed in on the portrait, her heart skipped a beat. “Grace!” Grace jumped and grabbed her chest. “Oh Stacy… Don’t do that, you scared me…” Stacy looked at her sideways and smiled. “Do you want to go to the store with me Grace?” Stacy asked as she tried to peek at what Grace was looking at on the computer. Grace closed it out quickly and jumped up. “Sure.” Stacy grabbed Grace’s hand and pulled her towards the door. Miss. Kathy, the manager stood up and glared at them. Grace turned around and looked back at her with the look of bewilderment. When she made it outside the salon, Steve was leaning on the Joe’s truck waiting for her. When he smiled Grace almost fainted, his dimples captivated her soul. Grace stood there for a moment and smiled. She held her breath for a moment. “Breath”. She said to herself as he walked up to him. “Wow you’re so pretty. I thought I was just drunk but you’re as beautiful as the other night.” Steve said as he touched her arm. Grace eyes glimmered up at him and she smirked. At that particular moment Grace felt as if nothing mattered. Even her weird life began to fade like dense clouds while standing next to him. Grace and Steve talked until the sun was about to set. Joy came outside and waved her hand. “Grace come and help me clean up!” Joy yelled. As Grace headed toward the salon, she told Stacy, Joe and Steve she would be right back. When Grace made it inside the salon, everything was dark and everyone was gone. She was so bedazzled by Steve she didn’t notice everyone leaving. “Joy where are you?” Grace asked as she walked toward the back of the salon. “Miss Kathy are you there?” she asked. Everything was still silent. Grace wanted to turn back around, because at that very moment she was afraid. Everything around her seemed dim and creepy. “Joy..!” She yelled once again. While Grace was slowly walking towards the back of the salon, she noticed a faint light. She called out for Joy once again. Without warning she heard something, but she couldn’t make out the sound. She walked farther to the back to see where it was coming from. When she made it to the back, she looked to her left. Her eyes widen, and she had the look of shock on her face. Meanwhile, Stacy was standing outside waiting for Grace to come back outside. She looked at her boyfriend Joe and his friend Steve. “I wonder what’s taking them so long to come out.” She said as she looked back at the guys. When she made it on the inside of the building, she paused. The air was thick and nothing was out place. Stacy began to panic when she heard a person scream. She ran to the back. When she made it to the rear of the building, there was a huge light coming from the bathroom. The light was bright and it hurt Stacy’s eyes. She covered her eyes with her arm and moved back. Her eyes began to focus in on the silhouette of a woman; she moved her arm away from her face and walked closer. Stacy stood there for a moment. “Joy is that you?” She asked as she walked closer to the light. The silhouette came closer to her, and when she realized who it was; it was too late. “Miss. Kathy!!!” Stacy yelled. Miss. Kathy had a huge umbrella in her hand a leopard cat suit on. She looked around three feet taller, and she grabbed Stacy with her long arms. “Come on join the fun..!” She said as she pulled Stacy into the light. Everything turned bright yellow and all of a sudden everything was dark. “Get up Stacy!!!” Joy and Grace yelled as they pulled on Stacy while she laid on the floor. Stacy got up and looked around. “Where is she?” She shrieked as she followed behind Joy and Grace. “Come on we’re explain it to you later. We got to get out of here…” Joy said as they jumped in Stacy’s boyfriend truck. They got in the truck and realized that the guys wasn’t in the truck. Grace was calm. “Just drive Joy.” Grace said as she looked around. “Déjà vu!!! Omg I don’t know how to drive a stick. This happened before…!” Joy shouted as she tried to adjust stick. Stacy glared at her with her brown eyes. “I can drive a stick. Move…!” She said as she moved Joy out of the way and jumped on the driver side. As Stacy began to drive down the dark service road. Grace and Joy began to panic. “Why this way?” Joy yelled. “It’s the wrong way…!” Grace said as she herself began to feel anxiety. Without a sign Miss Kathy was in front of the truck. Stacy tried to avoid hitting her so she ran off the road. Everyone was knocked out for a moment, but when they opened their eyes they were sitting in the backseat of the same pick-up truck. Stacy woke up first and to her surprise, there was three guys sitting in the front seat of the truck. “Wake up you guys…” She whispered as she frowned at the three guys in the front of the truck. They looked back at her and smirked and nodded their head at each other. It was a huge muscular blond haired guy driving. Joy woke up and she looked at Grace and Stacy with a bewildered expression. “I’m in heaven right?” She asked as she observed the driver. “No we’re been held hostage.” Stacy said as she glared at the men with her big brown eyes and gripped Grace’s and Joy’s hand. Joy acted if nothing was wrong and glared at the men again. “I’m just saying… How are we been held captive by the world’s hottest guys? Just asking…” She responded as she widen her eyes and gripped Grace’s knee. Grace looked down at Joy’s hand and glared up at Joy. “Really, Joy it’s not all about you. These guys can slaughter us, but instead you make it all about you.” Grace said as she stared out the back window. Stacy frowned at Joy and Grace and nodded her head from side to side. As Grace stared out the window of the truck, everything outside turned from night to day within seconds. The whole world changed right in front of her eyes. Grace bright green eyes widen and everything she’d ever dreamt of was right in front of her. Joy pulled her attention away from the men in the truck and when she observed what Grace and Stacy was looking at she frowned. “Okay… Is this supposed to be alright-is that a baby riding a horse…?” She said as she narrowed her eyes in on what was happening around them. Joy mouth dropped as she realized that it was real. The world had transformed into a wonderland. Everything they had ever dreamed of was in front of them; it was as if they were on another planet. Dreams was intertwined and everything became transparent. As oversized butterflies soared alongside beautiful birds, the clouds in the sky had altered into stunning translucent hue colors. All three of the ladies were in shock while looking at each other in amazement. One of the guys in the front looked back at them laughed. The rest of the drive was silent until they made it to a small abandon house in the middle of nowhere. “Where are we?” Stacy asked. The blond driver looked back at Joy and said nothing. Joy heart dropped. “Get out.” The dark skinned guy commanded as he got out of the truck and opened the door for them. All three of the girls had the look of terror on their faces. “NO! Where are you taking us, and who are you?” Stacy asked as she pushed her body farther back. The man laughed. “Is it a little late to be asking those questions?” He asked as he continued to laugh. The other two men chuckled also. They snatched the girls by the arms and pulled them forcibly out the truck. Stacy screeched. Joy and Grace cried out as well. While they were pulling them toward the house, Grace wiggled her arm loose from one of their grip. She ran toward Joy and stumbling over her own feet. She felt as if she was in a nightmare, everything was going in slow motion. When she finally made it over to Joy, she jumped and pushed the guy into the house. The blond haired guy stumbled, and when he hit the side of the old house everything around them shattered like glass. Stacy’s big brown eyes widen with terror. She reached for Joy and Grace as they felled into a river that appeared out of nowhere. Dread captivated all three of them. The three men vanished. Grace hit the water and at that very moment she realized she couldn’t swim. Grace tried to swim up, but she was sinking farther down. While she was under water, she held her breath. She could see Joy and Stacy swimming toward surface, but they act as if they couldn’t see her. Grace reached out for them. As she was sinking farther down, she let out her last breath before she felt the urge to inhale. She closed her eyes and for a moment she thought she was dead. Graced eyes popped open and she realized she was breathing under. When she grasped what was going on, she fought her way to the top of the water. Joy snatched her by the shirt once she got to the top. “Oh Gracie I thought you were dead…! I don’t know what I’ll do without you…” She whimpered while holding her sister. Grace looked stunned. Afterward, Grace stood up and told them she could breathe underwater. “I won’t accept that Grace…” Stacy said as she started backing up to what she thought was a wall. “STOP STACY!!! Grace yelled as she ran toward her. Joy set up and ran toward them also. Everything was going in slow motion as Grace and Joy tried to pull Stacy away from the portal. It was too late Stacy was sucked into the portal, and there wasn’t anything that they could do. Grace looked at Joy. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Grace asked Joy as she put one leg back. Joy nodded her head up and down; Joy grabbed Grace’s hand and held it tight. Both of them leaped into the portal without a second thought.
The Dream Maker
Introduction
Visionary is a place within the self-conscious. It’s a place which is made up of every element of the mind. In the interior of the brain stem, Visionary is combined with every part of ones’ intellect; making every portion of the mind productive. Even during sleep, the mind is diplomatic; causing the dreamer to relate to each episode within their dreams. Visionary is part of the universe; connecting the sleeper to every part of the unknown. This place makes it possible for the mind to travel through different dimensions; absolutely making the unidentified known to those who ponders outside of their vault. Possibilities are no longer an understatement, but an amplification of the soul. There’s a phenomenon called sleep paralysis, which happens when a person is awakening or falling asleep. This sensation prevents the sleeper from moving, speaking, and reacting during their transitional state between wakefulness and sleep. During the early centuries, it was believed that sleep paralysis was caused by an evil presence. It was ruled out because of scientific studies, however, there’s religions that still believe in the mysteries of sleep paralysis. What if there’s a presence that takes over the body during sleep and provides a person with visons? Or suppose this presence is stopping the sleeper from believing in their visions. Believing is seeing. Understanding what’s within the mind is imaginable. Studies are still indecisive.
