Hmm....He’s not as cold blooded or as calculating for a snake, but more feral than a cat- I’d pick weasel for Xue Yang.

I’d probably make A’qing the viper. She knows how to play her cards, and to take her time to make her move rather than screw everything up in a moment of pique.

Song Lan is a little tricker hmmm.... righteous to a fault and not particularly friendly-  獬豸 / Xie Zhi for him I guess? Goat-like creature with a horn who rams the guilty and bites wrong doers lol. An inherently just beast who symbolizes justice and law haha.
