just read the newest dgm chapter and man. i really dislike the current era of Hoshino's style..... it's so stiff and un-emotive, lacking in contrast, way too focused on being pretty over basically every other consideration. easily my least favorite art style from her, and I find it makes for less interesting reading

I miss her art from ~10+ years ago.... :')

My new little passion project! Gen, Berserk, Casca-centric long-fic in two parts. It's a post-canon related drama in which Casca is raised to ceremonial positions in Falconia but endures persistent memory loss. Summary:

She was a phoenix taken to the brink of death, but denied her sacred pyre. A phoenix gutted for her flame. And what manner of wretched bird remains, if not a raven dyed red?

Casca wakes from her endless night, unable to remember how the world reformed. Griffith is King. And, presumably, it is Lord Griffith who orders that her dreams be confiscated.

k i'm done working on this, so posting! i've been wanting to draw Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind fanart for aggeessss, specifically featuring Nausicaa and Kushana because I love them. I grew up with the film, but last year I finally went and read the manga and was surprised and pleased just how... different, and yet the same Kushana is in the manga version. they're such good foils to one another <3

OH MY GOD this is incredible!! Their expressions are perfect and the way their pokemon perfectly mirror them SO WELL... scary max... Love that Morgrem has the same earrings as Hiruma (why can I just picture doting trainer Hiruma taking Morgrem to get his matching piercings adfksajf) And Takami and Gallade with that perfect "facade", that shocked expression and then the GLASSES ADJUST with the GLINT klajfskalfj did they rehearse that??? Just perfect perfect perfect.

And their outfits are so great!! Hiruma's spiky shoulders and his index finger glove showing off his lanky fingers so good. (Also love that the only color in the sketch is Hiruma's red triangle of shirt peeking out hahaha.) (Also his pokeball belt, yesss.) And two-faced Takami managing to look so nerdy in his first reaction panel and so cool sci-fi bodysuit in his second.

Sena and Monta's reaction is the cherry on top, priceless! Thank you so much, I legit can't stop staring at this!!

I'm so happy you like it! It was fun designing them, and... well, attempting to draw in a 'pokemon' style, which I guess ended up meaning 'slightly more cartoony than my usual style' lol.

I actually like, gathered full teams for Hiruma and Takami, but then ended up only drawing one pokemon from each 😂 maybe one of these days I'll make one of those 'pokemon trainer' character sheets for them.

THIS IS SO PRECIOUS!! I love the softness of your style, it feels so fitting for a the recollection of a fond memory, and the idea that Agon ate the snacks while Unsui collected the cards is so good, it's so nice seeing a little glimpse of them as kids, when things weren't so strained between them :') Both the art and the fic are too perfect, thank you so much!!!

Posting this separately just cuz! A Demon Slayer oc I made over the last few days in some strange mental haze, based around the idea of "If I could add one more female Hashira, what kind of character would I make her?"

Name: Ikazuchi Akira (雷 亜輝) Sex: Female Age: 35 Height: 6' (183cm) Breathing Style: Lightning Personality: Generally comes across as extremely easy going and reserved, vaguely pleasant but not particularly personable. Largely, Akira dislikes dealing with emotional people, as she herself is not a very emotional person, so she tends to avoid the other Hashira whenever she can help it. That paired with her very lax attitude towards Demons doesn't make her popular with the other Hashira, even as they respect her for being the oldest and longest lasting Hashira of them all. In actuality, Akira is an adrenaline junkie. She lives for the blood-pumping adrenaline she gets whenever she's in a life-or-death battle, but in recent years has gotten strong enough that the vast majority of demons fail to deliver that high. As a result, she goes about her days with an almost sleepy-eyed disposition, waiting for her next rush. She's gotten into the habit of giving herself handicaps during fights so that even a battle against a weaker demon might prove itself interesting, such as wearing bells on her person, or choosing to use only a wakizashi against weaker demons. Fighting an Upper Moon is one of her dreams. Akira's attitude towards demons is also informed by this-- she doesn't hate them, the way most demon slayers do; she essentially sees them as convenient pests-- convenient because they make for a wonderful target to fight and kill.
