only harry could show the predatory nature of the music industry and how he's literally a piece of meat, a dance monkey, who if he ever stops singing, stops being the brand that he's advertised as, will be torn apart and brought down to literal shreds and stop being relevent, only harry could show all this by portraying himself as this octopus/siren/human hybrid and pull it off

actually no i'm not done yet. he's literally treated as nothing until he shows that he has some talent in singing and then suddenly he's this important thing and has people doing things for him. the octopus part of him is representative of multitasking and multi-faceted career. the siren part is obviously the raw appeal and how once his talent is discovered he's cleaned up, made pretty to attract a crowd, people that want parts of him for themselves. and then there's another man slinking towards him, wanting to own him and his brand. and finally when harry loses his voice, he's completely disregarded without even a second thought or glance and just left to be dealt with as scrap meat and even after he's sliced up for nothing, gill's lounge goes on. the industry sucks the literal soul out of you and once your presence is lost forever, nothing happens to the industry, it still goes on, unaffected as ever
