I am simply a ‘book drunkard.’ Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.
Lucy Maud Montgomery (via literaturecreep)
Weeping willow with your tears running down, why do you always weep and frown? Is it because he left you one day? is it because he could not stay? On your branches he would swing, do you long for the happiness that day would bring? He found shelter in your shade. You thought his laughter would never fade. Weeping willow, stop your tears. There is something to calm you fears. You think death has ripped you forever apart. But I know he’ll always be in your heart.

Tired, tired with nothing, tired with everything, tired with the world’s weight he had never chosen to bear.

And I can’t be running back and forth forever between grief and high delight.

“I’m not sure which is worse: intense feeling, or the absence of it.” — Margaret Atwood, The Blind Assassin
Currently reading this novel. Very pleased thus far. (via blueeyedbohemian)
Today, when most people are thankful for the warmth of their homes and the company of friends and family, I am thankful for the opportunity of being alone with my thoughts and the sweet serenity of quiet. For the firm ground beneath my feet that I am free to walk upon. For the ability to wander within myself as I simultaneously wander through the autumn landscape. On cold, wet and dreary days like this, I seek refuge in the wilderness. I desire to feel the cold air fill the deep space of my lungs and smell the musk of the fallen leaves on the earth I am fulfilled, I am grateful. -vpb https://www.instagram.com/p/Bor19hTH7iu/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=8esxdoagi7j
Sometimes I feel like a ought to explain myself for the choices I have made or the things I have done. But the truth is that the only explanation I can give is this: people change. They change their clothes. They change their hair. They change their minds. This kind of change is an inevitable part of the human existence. In some way or another, people will experience this kind of inner growth during their lifetime. For me, a lot of this occurred in the last year of my life. I realized what I wanted, and more importantly, what I didn’t want, out of my life. It took courage to be honest with myself and admit that I had simply changed my mind; that what I had once understood to suit me and bring meaning into my life, no longer did either of those things. The fact of the matter is this: It is okay to change your mind. It is okay to make hard decisions. It is okay to make those hard decisions for yourself and your own happiness. You’ll be better because of it. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bofu5PJHu_u/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=g8070ympesv2
