Rewatching season 15 and I swear to god if they put to trash the build up of Merluca for Hayes and don't make Andrew and Meredith endgame I am gonna die internally.

The point of Hayes shipers is that he would gets Meredith better because he has faced the same things and they are quite alike. How is that challenging or even a point when Deluca is right there wearing his heart on his sleeve, he is heart eyes for Mer', battling for his patient like crazy, when he is also the one that saved meredith from herself , Deluca who is the first I♡U of Meredith since McDreamy , who saved Richard, who is finally taking care of himself , who went to jail for her, who is being a great surgeon who likes general surgery , approved by Richard "my star resident" "he is a great man" / Maggie / Amelia / Zola... finally/Alex "you should be in peds"/Jackson /Cece and other patients/ Link in a way.../etc.., being extremely great with kids , ... do I continue ? He gets her, take care of her and tease her sometimes, he is the second one for her have you seen the smile on her face when they were together ????

And still a lot of people are somehow rooting for Hayes I don't get it.

Pt 1: Can we please talk about Rachel and Rachel/Joey? I have literally no one in real life to talk to about Friends and you seem so smart and sweet. Anyway, I don't usually don't love the spoiled popular girl who seems vain and shallow so I didn't expect to like Rachel, but she's so genuinely warm, loving, spirited and ALIVE, you know?! She's flawed but in a really relatable way, like how impulsive and emotional she is (SAME!) And, UO here, but I don't think she's genuinely arrogant at all.

There are a lot of Friends fans here, and more recent fans like Rachel/Joey over Rachel/Ross, so you’ll fit right in! 

Also, I’m very flattered! “So smart and sweet” is the loveliest compliment! Thank you, so much. I’m happy people feel welcome to talk to me!

I get where you’re coming from (re: not expecting to like Rachel), but she always seemed nice to me. She never seemed like the kind of rich and popular girl who is also a bully. However, until my second rewatch of the show I didn’t realize how damn wonderful Rachel is! 

She’s everything you just said: warm, sweet, loving, fun, vibrant, intelligent. She’s emotional but in a realistic way. And she’s not arrogant at all. I honestly never got that impression. She’s very down to earth by the end of the series, or as down to earth as Friends’ characters can be anyway. 

Pt 2: In fact, Rachel is relatably insecure, taught by her family and experiences not to trust her judgement or to view herself as smart, capable, and independent. So early on she does seem to focus on looks because she’s been led to believe that’s all she has going for her! Watching her redefine herself, defy people’s expectations and become a strong, capable woman was so great imo. Part of why I love Rachel/Joey is because he supported and encouraged her and made her feel great about herself.

I agree with everything! I love how you see Rachel. I can tell that you relate to her because you understand her so well! 

Rachel definitely tries not to be like her parents (her teaching Joey to sail comes to mind), and she was taught to rely on her looks and to judge people based on their appearances and money (her sisters are examples of this). It’s admirable that she dared to dream bigger and to take her passion for fashion to the next level. It’s hard to find motivation and self-awareness, and Rachel has the best arc of all the Friends’ characters because she grows the most. 

I also love how warm, supportive, and loving Joey and Rachel are with each other. I love them as roommates and BFFs. Joey’s relaxed and unselfconscious and Rachel needed that. I think Joey clearly needed some guidance in life, and Rachel was motherly without doing stuff for him. She became more selfless around him. Joey has many sisters so I think Rachel kind of reminded him of home. They built a home together. They were comfortable, and happy. They were partners. 

Pt 3: And meanwhile Rachel, who learns that being emotional can be a true asset, helps formerly shallow Joey feel deeply for the first time and view himself as capable of a real and serious connection rather than just sticking to the role of the “good time guy.” So he and Rachel help each other be happier and better imo and don’t get me started on how Rachel and Ross do the exact opposite over and over :)

Yes, Rachel and Ross are a mess. I think Joey was already ready for more by the time he and Rachel got closer, and Rachel was the first person Joey really saw himself with. She taught him how to care for someone else, and how to share his life. Joey lived with Chandler for a long time, but their friendship was different. Chandler paid for everything and they encouraged each other to be immature. But Joey and Rachel, due to their differences in behavior, taught each other more, and lift each other up. Joey took Rachel to set, and to award shows and parties. He was so proud to have her friendship, and she was so proud of his accomplishments. To her, Joey’s soaps weren’t silly. And to Joey, Rachel’s fashion expertise wasn’t silly either. I think that’s very important.

Why I am frustrated with J.K Rowling is she’s in a position of influence, and power. And yet, she is using that position to do FEAR mongering on an issue she is NOT an expert in. Nor should she immerse herself in if she wants to spread fear, instead of help. It’s not her concern for a transgender kid to transition. What is horrific, however, is an abused trans kid, or a trans kid in general-and a trans adult-reading her books, and feeling included. for people who are unaware of why the riots in minneapolis started happening, here’s the facts:

it wasn’t george floyd’s protesters who started reacting violently; it was the cops.

the protest was peaceful until the cops showed up in riot gear, and started using water cannons, followed up by tear gas and rubber bullets. i got videos from friends who were there, of people screaming and running away from the cops shooting the water cannons, rubber bullets and throwing tear gas at them. they were even shooting at the protesters dragging people away to get medical attention.

speaking of medical attention, dispatch refused to provide any medical attention to the protesters. people literally had to drive their bleeding friends to the hospital because they refused to send ambulances.

cops are using non-lethal weapons in a lethal way. they shot rubber bullets into people’s heads and injured them. there’s dozens of photos of protesters with bleeding head wounds from the rubber bullets.

multiple people used police scanners and heard that there were undercover cops pretending to be violent protesters who were throwing rocks and whatnot at the police, with dozens of eyewitness accounts confirming that information.

the person who instigated all the chaos last night (it was a fire at an autozone) with the looting and burning buildings is highly suspected to be an undercover cop pretending to be a protester, because the video of him keeps getting taken down. protesters tried to stop him but couldn’t because he had a hammer and they were scared for their safety.

the cops jammed cell phone towers and cut live streams to interrupt broadcasts and to prevent people from seeing what was really going on and who actually started the violence.

the cops lied about protesters being armed and about throwing rocks and are literally trying to continue the violence happening and yet no one is holding them accountable for that.

and during all this, the cop that murdered george floyd still hasn’t been arrested. he has had more than ten complaints filed against him and was involved in three other civilian shootings in the past. and yet he’s still out free along with his three other buddies involved, probably sitting on his couch while all this chaos is happening.

so don’t get it twisted. the cops just want to change the narrative to make it look like they’re the wounded and righteous party, when they’re the ones who started reacting violently in the first place and are still acting violently. so don’t you ever forget who started this tragedy and murdered someone, and who are continuing to react to the situation with violence.

it’s just fucking SICK how white men can show up to public buildings with guns and police just stand and stare ... white women will scream at minorities and protest for their rights to get haircuts and police won’t do anything ... but say that black people should be treated like people and fucking tear gas and rubber bullets come out. when people say black lives matter, it’s a reminder because police keep acting like black lives are meaningless. every fucking day.
