Best update

I won’t deny that it’s been a difficult road with old Best. He is just too intelligent and knows exactly what is going on - and is able to find loop wholes without much difficulty. We have started jumping more regularly now and he’s been going fantastically.

I was lucky enough to take him to another yard with better jumping facilities for my lesson last week. And despite dunking me in the mud because he didn’t agree with the place pole that was behind one of the jumps, he went really well and we even did some proper grid-work for the first time! I was so happy with the young lad and we are finally getting to see his jumping potential.

Yesterday Meghan and I took part in the Cape Hunter Trials and won our team of three class. Unfortunately when we took the horses out the box when we got home Best was not very sound and must have done something silly in the paddock at the event. Fingers crossed he is okay today!

We did our first ever hunt a few weeks ago and it was quite an experience!

Meghan rode Best yesterday and he was a bit of a brat! She eventually got him working nicely and actually engage those hind quarters!

I need a new saddle!!!

Had an unexpected saddle fitting yesterday and finally got a professional opinion on how my saddles are fitting Armada and Best! We made a plan for Best because there's no point buying another saddle when he hasn't even turned 5 yet! Armada on the thee hand needs a new dressage saddle! And of course I will only buy a brown one. So in looking for either a Passoa, RD or old Wintec or Bates Isabell to buy second hand. Let the hunt begin!

Took Armada eventing for the first time a few weeks ago! Love this picture because he looks so keen! We’re going Hunting (also for the first time) at the same venue this weekend and I am so excited to fly over all the awesome jumps again!
