What is hunter jumping? ℧ 𓃗
Hunter jumping is a jumping class that focuses on the horse and the rider’s movements, and the fluidity of the horse while doing the course. It originates from fox hunting and how you need to keep an even fast pace and fluid movement while following hounds. There are many different versions of the hunt class, like hunter under saddle, and I will further speak of those in future posts!!
Alternative Equestrians Rise Up!!!
Came out of semi-retirement to scratch another horse show off the bucket list. Traverse City Horse Show😍
Just looooove being shamed and basically called a wus by people in the Equestrian community because I stopped horseback riding when multiple doctors and physical therapists told me to stop. I stopped because with the hardware in my neck and state of my spine after so many surgeries, even a minor fall could easily be fatal or paralyze me.
And I tried so hard not to stop too. I kept getting multiple opinions to try to find a yes so I could keep riding but no one would say yes.
The Equestrian community is taught to always get back on and to be tough about injuries. Suck it up. Get back on the horse. Yes it's good for minor injuries but then you're being told the same thing with a broken arm or a herniated disc in your spine. This attitude is harmful to riders. It gets people hurt further pretty frequently.
I made the right call not riding anymore. My life is worth more than that no matter how much I miss it. And I do miss it every day, all day to the point it can be depressing. It's just not worth actually dying over.
