One of Peyton’s favorite parts of the year had to be the parent-teacher conferences for the simple fact of she got to see why the kids were the way they were. She learned after a year that often the more aggressive students had slightly aggressive parents that wouldn’t allow her to actually explain what was going on with the child in school. The opposite effect would happen with the nicer kids in which she learned their parents were rather polite adults. Regardless of the situation, she managed to maintain a smile to keep the tone gentle. As she called in Tyler’s parent, she greeted the dad with a smile and awaited to see the outcome of the conference. From what she already knew, Tyler was a fairly kind student and he absolutely enjoyed participating. Peyton was actually rather excited to talk to his dad about how wonderful the student was; she often tried not to play favorites, but she had to admit that the little boy was one of her favorites.
“I’m glad you could make it tonight, Mr…” A glance at her clipboard reminded her the name of the student. “King! My apologies. I don’t usually say the children’s last names so it’s hard to remember them for the most part.” She looked back up from the board before she smiled. “If you’d like to take a seat, I would love to get started.”
Liam had been almost nervous to actually attend Tyler’s parent-teacher night. He’d never actually been to one of them before and was worried he’d seem like a complete idiot. He was almost thankful Emma had asked him to go however, he wanted to be more involved when it came toTyler’s school, and well, getting to see the teacher his son couldn’t seem to stop talking about was an added bonus. The man mentally cussed at himself for already coming across spaced out, having not realised at first that his name was being called. “Please, call me Liam, Mr King makes me feel so old,” he told her with a soft laugh, flashing her a smile as he held out his hand for her to shake. Liam pulled the chair back, a nervous smile on his face as he sat himself down, still unable to take his eyes off of her. “I just want to start off by saying, Tyler loves you. He talks about you all the time, and I mean all the time,” Liam explained, hands fiddling with the strap on his watch.
Her lips pressed against his own almost made his heart stop entirely. The ache was so raw and real that the male feared he could be hurting her with the way his finger tips held her so deeply. The kiss lasted for a fleeting moment, one that he’d pay millions to get back. Casper knew that the kiss probably meant a lot more to him than it did to her. She was in shock, adrenaline was surging through her veins, her mind acting on impulses that she’d spent years submerging. Sophia had gone through her grieving process, more or less, fully believing that he was gone, but for Casper – she’d been his reason for not giving up. There were days where hunger rocked him to his core, he’d been so weak, so tired, but he could never have forgiven himself if he were to die days before being rescued.
An endless list of confessions hovered on his tongue, threatening to spill and potentially put her in a place where she’d have to make a troubling choice. Casper had almost completely forgotten about the babe in her arms and while the child was no more than a two at most, Casper didn’t care for it. He could feel a selfishness brewing inside him, as he’d fought through all sorts of things to get back to her, only to find she was busy and taken with someone else. It was no ones fault, an unfortunate stroke of bad luck. Exhaling deeply, Casper let his eyes drop between them, his mouth slightly parted as the lingering sensation of her lips against his own tortured him with memories. “I want to be a part of your life,” there was a hesitance in his tone, as he knew what he was about to propose was borderline insensitive. “How big that part is, is up to you…”
It was a lost of pressure to place on her, but Casper found himself unable to be subtle. While it was an awful thing to hope, he wished dearly that she wasn’t happy in her relationship. That the split would be simple and clean, for both parties – but no one had two children within the space of four years if they were miserable together. “I don’t want to mess anything up for you,” he admitted, frowning as he let his hues connect with hers once more. “I need you to paint me some guidelines,” he nodded, attempting to be respectful of her and her relationship. “Because right now everything is well and truly blurry and I don’t think I could handle losing you due to a misunderstanding of what it is… You want,” it was a loaded statement. But if she asked, he’d step away, remove his hand from the curve of her waist and move on from the women who gave him the strength to survive.
The feeling of her lips pressed against Caspar’s brought a whirlwind of memories flooding back to her, everything from their last kiss to the last time she saw him before the plane went missing. She’d spent years convincing herself that she was never going to see him again, trying to come to terms that the man she had loved most was gone from her life, and now here he was, just as real as the day he left. She couldn’t even bring herself to imagine what it would have been like, trapped on an island, not knowing if anyone was ever coming for you. She couldn’t help but feel racked with guilt, not only had Caspar lived through that but he’d come home to find her with not one, but two kids.
If Sophia was honest with herself, she wasn’t all that happy in relationship, she hadn’t been for a long time. It was almost as if ever Eve had come along, Nate had wanted nothing to do with her or the girls, staying out late at nights and seeming to be in another world when he was home. She’d stayed with him for the sake of her daughters, wanting to try give them a complete family. Sophia hadn’t seen him in days though, not since their fight earlier in the week. “I do,” she blurted out, her cheeks flaming scarlet. “I do want you in my life that is, I would seriously struggle if you just turned around and left,” she admitted, gaze dropping away from him as she adjusted Eve on her hip, trying to gather her own thoughts before she’d say something she’d regret.
"Did you maybe want to come inside?” Sophia asked before she even really had time to think, motioning to her house. “I feel like there’s a lot to discuss and it might be better if we were sitting inside instead of standing in my front yard.” she spoke, her voice quiet as a soft smile tugged at the edges of her mouth. Not only was there a lot to discuss with him, there was a lot she needed to figure out in her own life, mainly the situation with Nate and if whether being in an unhappy relationship for the sake of the kids was worth it anymore. She was sure, hoped, that if things did end with Nate that they’d understand eventually, realising it was better off for the two of them to be apart. “I just still can’t believe you’re actually here,” he repeated, her hand running across his arm once more before she let it drop, waiting for him to decide whether or not he wanted to go inside.
based off this
Liam had been hearing about this new teacher for weeks. Every waking moment, all Tyler seemed to talk about was this “great teacher” and how “she’s the best, dad.” It wasn’t unlike Tyler to get really excited about someone, the little boy often taking a liking to just about everyone. But there was something about this teacher that seemed to have Tyler captivated. Liam had never met this teacher himself, Emma did the after school pick ups, but the way his son was going on about her had him intrigued, Liam unable to help himself wondering what she was like. He didn’t think he’d ever end up meeting this elusive kindergarten teacher, after all, Emma usually handled all of Tyler’s parent-teacher conferences, Liam usually stuck working whenever they came up. But tonight, Emma had the late shift at the bar she worked, leaving Liam to take the reins. He’d left Tyler at his sister’s place, before making his way to the school, curiosity filling up his mind as to what this teacher was really like. Liam stood in the hallway for what felt like forever, making small talk with other parents about topics he wasn’t too interested when the elusive teacher walked out, leaving Liam wondering if he’d ever seen a woman that beautiful, and suddenly very aware as to why his son liked her so much. It took him a moment to register she was calling his name, the male finally snapping to attention. “Oh, Liam, yeah that’s me, I’m Tyler’s dad but I’m sure you knew that,” he rambled as he stepped forwards, a sheepish smile making it’s way onto his face, unable to take his eyes off her.
Annette did hate that they had to sneak around, she would never admit this to him but it almost made her feel dirty. Sneaking around was what people who had affairs did and she just didn’t like it but he had to listen to his manager no matter how much of a bad feeling she had about his manager. They’d make more money if all the guys were single, she thought that was a complete lie. There were many popular groups that had each member either engaged or dating someone but she never brought it up to Liam. He had enough to worry about without worrying about her being unhappy with them sneaking around. Plus, she loved him and if she had to be a bit uncomfortable in order to make him happy then she would do it. “Well, according to your manager, yes it is mandatory” she commented gazing at his clothing and watching him “you can’t look like an idiot, we could put you in a garbage bag and you’d still look very handsome” she admitted with a smile brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear.
“I got some sunglasses for you to use too” she admitted. Annette still remembered the first day she met Liam, she had enjoyed his bands tune and how amazing they were but when Liam had approached her, she thought it was just something he always did, get a girl’s number after his shows or take them home but she had decided to give him a chance and she was glad she had because he turned out to be the most amazing caring men she had ever laid her eyes on. She still couldn’t believe they had been together for a year now and she was glad that despite his fame growing, he never changed and she hoped he never would change. Annette was wearing something simple herself, a white floral dress that came down to her knees and beige ankle boots with a beige cardigan, it was one of her favorite outfits.
Annette looked at him and smiled, she moved forward, arms wrapping around his neck “you look very handsome” she admitted, her fingers began to lightly play with the ends of his hair as she leaned her forehead against his. Annette could see herself with Liam for the long hall, to marriage and kids. She loved him, so much and she’d do anything to make him happy “I’ll make you a deal, where this disguise and when we come back, I’ll wear absolutely … nothing” she commented smiling and biting down on her bottom lip before she leaned up to press a soft kiss to his lips.
Liam knew it couldn’t have been easy for the girl, having to hide all the time, meeting up in secret locations. He’d wanted on more than one occasion to just be done with all the lying and the sneaking and say once and for all that yes, he was actually in a relationship, and had been for quite some time. But Liam was afraid to go against what his manager said, not wanting to do anything that would reflect negatively on the other boys. He turned his back on the mirror, now facing the girl as she spoke. “I really appreciate this you know, all this sneaking around can’t be easy, and I just wanted you to know I’m thankful that you’re putting up with it for me,” he told her as he stepped forwards to kiss her, pulling back after a few moments.
“Now they definitely won’t recognise me,” he teased lightheartedly about the sunglasses, a cheeky smile coming to rest on his lips. His hands drifted to her waist, his one thumb tracing circles on her hipbone as she moved closer. “You think I look handsome? Hm, I can live with that,” a soft smile slipped past his lips as he pulled her in even closer. Even after having been together for so long his heart still fluttered around her like it did the first time he saw her at a gig. “With an offer like that, there’s no way I’d say no the the disguise,” he muttered as their lips met once more, the male’s hand reaching up to cradle her jaw.

The male would lie if he said he didn’t find Amanda attractive. He did like her, but never really thought about them two as a couple. Sure, he kept listening to all of their friends how they’d make a great couple, but still. He wasn’t sure if it would work since they’ve been friends for a long time now and how it would effect their friendship. Dominic nodded awkwardly, his smile finally fading away after the other spoke. “It is getting a bit old now, she’s so right,” he chuckled while his hand ran through his hair. But no matter what the two said, their friends kept on going. “Oh man- can we talk about something else or is tonight’s topic only going to be the two of us?”
Amanda leant forewords as her elbow rested on the table, with her head nestled in her hand as she listened to Dominic, her eyes on him as she spoke. The thought of Dominic and her together as a couple had never really crossed her mind. Sure he was attractive, very attractive, but they’d been friends for so long and she was scared that it’d ruin their friendship. A shaky laugh slipped past her lips as he tried to get their friends to stop, Amanda not trying to show any visible signs that the teasing was effecting her in any way. “I’m sure there’s something, anything, more interesting to talk about than the two of us. Dogs, for example, dogs are interesting, let’s talk about dogs” she rambled, her hands now twiddling with the straw in her glass as she tried to divert the conversation.
