These are pictures of the roots of a felled tree. We rarely survey this area of the yard since it’s mostly overgrown, but not yet. Chasing Oliver down there Dave noted something glass and ceramic. Of course, I was eager to explore. It turns out that the fallen tree grew right out of an old rubbish heap. A pitch fork, canning lids, depression glass, were among the cast offs. I don’t think the pit is very old but if we slice up the tree we can count the rings and get a sense.
