BAFF! *gasps* If you’ve eber tried to 🛁wash your stuffie friend in a washing machine, you knows it can be a scawy disaster! What your furry friend weally needs… is a Doctor Jennibellarella ✔approved stuffie baff!
You will need:
🌟Needle and Thread
🌟Widdle Scissors
🌟Seam Ripper or Exact-o blade
🌟Detergent and Fabric Softener
🌟Febreeze/Lysol or new stuffing
🌟Absorbent light-colored towel
Doctor Jennibellarella suggests dat before yous do any baff or surgery on a stuffie, you needs to put hims or her to nini. 💤🌟Cuddle up your friend and tells it dat it will be otay. 💖*pat pat* Den gib your friend a jelly bean to eats.👍 Da jelly bean will put your stuffie to sleeps. It science. *nods* imma weal doctor. *nods*
If your stuffie-wuffie is wearing a shirt or has an accesso-wee that is sewn onto it, carefully use your widdle scissors and cut it off. ✂Usually these thingys are only held on by a thread of string… The weason we do dis is because the accesso-wee fabric … could make stains on your teddy bear during the wa-wash!!!🙊 Oh noooos! (Dis is da same weason why we use a light-colored towel to dry) Wash da accesso-wee separately to be safe!
Locate a seam in an in-con-speesh-o-wus area on your stuffie friend! 👍This could be on 🐻its bottom or back. *giggles* (Build-A-Bear stuffies already have an easy to access seam on their back.) Using your seam ripper or exacto blade, vewy vewy carefu-wee slice through the threads (⚠not the fabric!!!) to open the seam. You don’t needs to open it up vewy much because, whatever yous open, you gunna have ta close!!!
Next, gent-wee pull out all da cotton. Make a mental note💡 of about how much cotton came out of each area!!!💖 (You can also put stuffing into baggies labeled for each body part!) Dis will help you when you restuff your furiend. Some Stuffies will has areas that you can’t unstuff, like da muzzle or da paws. That okay! Just leave it! When taking da cotton out of da face… be careful! 🐰There may be threads inside, holding the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Now, would be a good time to prepare your stuffing.👍 If you are using brand-new cotton, then simp-wee discard what you pulled out. If you are wee-using da cotton, there are a few different ways you can cleans it!!! You can put the cotton inside a empty piwwo case, tie a knot in the piwwo case, and then wash and dry it in your machine like normal. 💖 Alternative-wee, you can spread out da stuffing and spray it with Febreeze or Lysol and let air dry before you put it back into your stuffie. Ta da!! Stuffie luvin from the inside out!!!! 🐻💕
First clean out your sink, rinsing it vewy well of any cleaning agent. When giving your stuffie bear🛁 a baff, it on-wee takes a few drops of detergent! 💦You don’t wants to create a lather or bubbles. Instead, you just want to use the detergent to break the surface area of the water so the water can penetrate the fabric and clean your stuffie. (Science) *pats pocket protector and pushes up glasses* imma weal doctor *nods*
Gent-wee squeeze da stuffie in da water for a few minutes.💦 Drain da water and rinse your soggy, not-so-stuffie friend in clean water a few times, draining the sink between each rinse cycle. When you are finished, squeeze your wittle friend then wrap him/her up inside a dry light-colored towel. Like a baby!!! 🍼Next you’ll firm-wee squeeze da towel. Don’t be afraid to press pwetty hard! 🏩💕
Now you can begin to restuff your wobbly teddy bear friend!🙈 Using your fingers, push da cotton into your bear! When stuffing da hands and feet make sures you get the cotton all da way to the tip of da paws. If you have twouble reaching an area, you can use the handle of a wooden spoon to help push da cotton stuffing inside. 🐻When you finished stuffing, you may need to hold your bear in your hands and do a little squishing to get the right shape and to distribute the cotton even-wee. 🐻👍A lumpy bear is a grumpy bear!
Now, it’s time to sew up the opening! Yayyyyy! In da pictures, I has doubled the thread so that it’s thicker and stronger. Mhm. When the seam is closed again use the needle to lift up the fur and hide the thread!💖👍
Your teddy bear is still probably a little bit 💦damp…. if you want, wrap your fluffed stuffie up in a dry blankey and put it in the dryer for a wittle while! Be careful! ⚠The heat of the dryer can shrink certain fabrics or scratch and melt the plastic eyes.⚠
Once your stuffie is dry, you can brush its fur, gent-wee. (Or donts brush it. It otay.)
And now your bear is as good as new!💖 *sniffs it!*👍 Wake up your floofy furiend and give him or her a LOTS of snuggles! 🐻💖💕Teddy bears that have just had a baff are a wittle woozy upon waking up! Recovery snuggles are crucial! *nods* twust me, imma doctor *nods*
