I finished knitting a third shawl and instead of doing something like looking for a sweater pattern, I am on ravelry looking for another shawl pattern. I don't typically wear shawls! But I think I have to force myself to become a shawl wearing person if I'm going to keep making them.
(I got some caron cloud cakes with gorgeous color gradient which is begging to become a shawl)
CD3 and the IUI roller coaster has technical difficulties so this ride is canceled.
My clinic has a few different office locations. One is 10minutes away, and all the others are at least an hour away. The close location is getting their sonogram machines serviced/replaced/idk and they want me to go to one of the other locations for monitoring. Problem is those locations, which are each an hour away, are incredibly inconvenient since I also have to take the kids to camp in the morning.
I was on the phone with them yesterday to discuss this issue, but then the clock ticked past closing time and the phone automatically took me off hold and into their automatic messaging system. I couldn't get back in touch with the person I was talking to. They went ahead and scheduled me at one of the further locations without telling me.
This morning I received a call asking why I missed my appointment at X location. When I called back and said that I was very consistent in saying I cannot go to one of the other locations, they said that if we can't do monitoring today, we must cancel the IUI cycle.
I'm so frustrated.
Plot Twist turns 6 next week and I am still so grateful for the best surprise I ever got. He's such a smart, kind, and friendly little boy and I love him so much.
We're planning a party for him and his friends at the local pool, but despite the obvious pool theme he wants the theme of it to be a specific monster truck show. It's hard to find that brand of party supplies but we'll do our best.
It's tempting to turn it into a shared party to also celebrate Bamba, since their bdays are close together, but I think we'll try to keep them separate. At least she's young enough that I can still pick the theme for a simple party with family.
Little Missy is becoming SUCH a picky eater and I'm tearing out my hair because the only thing she will reliably eat is junk.
The other day she told me she doesn't like pizza. What child doesn't like pizza?! I'm trying to get her involved in meal planning but it isn't easy to come up with a meal plan that fits our budget/health needs/schedule/tastes.
not that this helps you but my brother also doesnt eat pizza
he basically only eats rice, and meaty foods. also potato kugel. he mentioned to my mom the other day that it's interesting he doesn't like any kind of potato aside from kugel.

I don’t know is this is helpful to you OP but my family and friend group seems to consist almost exclusively of picky eaters, people with allergies, and people with texture issues, and making a meal everyone can eat can be something of a trial (and I’m not shopping at whole foods, I’m talking regular grocery store, farmers market veggies if I’m feeling fancy). If you can give any insight into what her specific issue is (or combination of issues) I’d love to offer what help I can!
She has no allergies, she's not sensitive to textures in an autistic way or anything. Her main issue is she's 7 and stubborn. Yesterday I served make-your-own tacos with many fixings (fake meat, lettuce, guacamole, etc) in different bowls and all she ate was the cheese. She doesn't like meat because it prohibits her from eating dairy junk food for the next 6 hours.
Yeah I feel that, my brother went through a phase where he would only consume chicken nuggets or vanilla milkshakes. That was it. The doctors told my mom to hold the line and he stubborned his way into the hospital. He’s not autistic (ironically the autistic brother is very easy to feed) he’s just hell on wheels (also this was like three decades ago, he’s grown up and still picky but much more reasonable now)
How does she feel about falafel or other bean based proteins?
Truth be told, I'm not much of a bean person myself and I'm not quite sure how I'd incorporate them in a way that she'd enjoy. The times she's tried beans, she was not a fan. As for falafel, she likes chummus okay, but not falafel balls in like a pita or anything.
And she's only a kid, she'll go through phases, but in the meantime it's just hard to figure out what to feed her.

I share your mom's frustration! It's hard to get my daughter to eat many things. There's lots of things I stopped making because the kids refused to touch it, but LM is definitely the pickiest of the three.

CD1 and we're back on the IUI rollercoaster again.
The upsetting thing is that we can't do an IUI cycle in August because it conflicts With a family vacation. September is out because of all the holidays. We can't do another IUI until October at best.
Negative. Maybe a fourth child just isn't meant to be. I feel so discouraged.

Had the IUI today. We won't know if it worked for another two weeks. Davening for a positive pregnancy test!
Another day, another blood draw.
Clinic has told me to inject Ovidrel Saturday night (tomorrow) and be intimate with hubby. IUI is on Monday!
Unfortunately I can't go to the mikvah until Sunday night 🫠 I asked a Rabbi and he said he can't give me a heter to go a day early.
However 👎👍 an IUI while I'm still Niddah is okay. They make little IUI at-home kits and I guess we'll be using that on Saturday night. So romantic 😑
