"So, here is the finished version of this painting, which I finished a few weeks ago, but hadn't posted yet. This was a commissioned painting based on the characters from The Masters of The Universe (He-Man). . You can scroll and see some process pics. The second image is a rough conceptual sketch I did digitally, so my client could have an idea of where I was going with it and approve it. I then did a photoshoot with the fantastic @carlottachampagne -I brought that sketch to show her so we could recreate those poses. . The third image is a colored digital sketch I did, once I had the photos of my model. Yes, she is all 4 characters, haha! It kinda make sense when you think about it, because all the characters in the toy line and cartoons had similar body types. And Sorceress and Teela are mother and daughter, so it explains the likeness 😁 . The 4th image is the rough underpainting. I traced the drawing on the canvas, then added a bit of details with thin oil paint. I let it dry for a week or so, then brushed over a wash of diluted ochre color over it. . The 5th image is the first layer in color, which I did in about a day and half. . Last image is the final painting. I did one character at a time. It took between 15 to 24 hours to do each one of them. Then, I did the background, which took almost 24 hours to do. The whole painting took about 140 hours to do (not counting digital sketches). . uhhhh due to recent events i got back into MOTU for the first time in years and i entered a state of hysteria in which i started making a hypothetical reboot with some stupid redesigns.

here’s the character lineup of what i have done so far, i’ve hit a block with character designs because im incredibly tired.

(i changed nothing about cringer because A. i can’t draw cats all that well and B. there’s not much to redesign tbh)

here’s the rest of the art i’ve made for this, i might reblog this later with some of my thoughts for this au, but it’s mostly just an excuse to put characters in outfits.

#my family does this thing#when we've majorly unfucked a room or done chore that we were putting off#or whatever. Any sort of household Improvement.#'Come brag on me.'#I means come look I cleaned/rearranged/did dishes/put away the laundry#and the scripted response is 'oh nice it looks SO much better in here now'#like my mom did this when we were kids.#'girls comr brag on the garage I finally organized it so I can get my car in there'#and we go and 'ooh' and 'aah' and tell her how nice it looked and how she did a good job#and we could have her 'come brag on' us for like doing the dishes or cleaning our rooms#I do it to my wife now too#it's a dialogue that means#'I did a chore and it feels like an Accomplishment even if it objectively wasn't a big thing. Please acknowledge this.'#and#'Wow you sure did do a thing. It has improved our material circumstance even if only in a small way. Thank you for doing it.'#like yeah scrubbing the pans is my Job and it's a Little Task but sometimes it feels like a Big Task#and it's nice to have an Accepted Script where I can just demand 'I have functioned as an independent adult praise me with great praise' - by @thepioden

This is why I thank my family for doing chores and it weirded out my step family at first, but now they thank people too :)

I imagine at first he was trying to convince Mandos to re-embody him so he could go and help his kids, but eventually accepted he never could have saved them - it was impossible even for him. Here he is about to ask to be sent to wherever Uruk souls go, so he can be reunited with his children once more. 🖤
