what a ship war is: people who ship different couples on a tv show tiredly argue over which ship is better. a ship war is childish and will never go anywhere

what a ship war isn’t: calling out a person for accusing the writers of being homophobic just because barba and carisi argued in the promo. that had nothing to do with a ship war.

i don't like drama either but saying that fighting over barson/barisi/rollisi/whatever is somehow the same as calling someone’s manipulative and dumb behaviour out is just absurd.

hey, just wanted to say some things: one is that sonny hasn't expressed romantic interest to anyone on the show yet, and he hasn't talked about dating men or women, so saying he's straight relies on nothing except thinking EVERYONE is straight by default until proven otherwise, which is reductive thinking and treats lgbt people as alternatives instead of defaults themselves

another is that bisexuality means he could be interested inrollins while still being into men. it's not an ultimate either or. the thirdis that i'm sorry there are people hating on rollins for no other reason thanthey view her 'getting in the way' of their ship. i wont fault you for postingin the barisi tag, but i hope you know that carisi's sexuality is not set instone and assuming everyone is straight unless proven otherwise is dangerousthinking. thank you!

i’m not saying it is impossible for sonny to be anything otherthan straight but saying “and he hasn't talked about dating men or women“ isnot canonically correct. he’s talked about dating women before. (i haven’twatched svu in... well... forever, so i don’t remember which episode, but i doremember him saying he was able to get the files the squad needed as a favorfrom an old girlfriend).

but again, he could be bi and that’s not a problem and not thereason i made that post. i posted it as a way to callout the behaviour thatsome barisi shippers display: say whatever they want and expect everyone in thefandom to be ok with it because it’s their blog and their opinion no matter howoffensive it is, and yet whenever someone who doesn’t ship barisi decides tosay whatever they want or dare call the barisi fans out, that person is accusedof starting drama.

so i guess to sum it all up: i don’t speak for everyone whodoesn’t ship barisi, but i think most of us don’t care about sonny’ssexuality, we just find some people who ship it to be extremelyobnoxious and hipocrytical about it.

well, thank you for being civil about this. i made that postbecause i was really fed up and you could’ve easily started another fandomfight but you didn’t.

i hope this fandom can have more discussions and less argumentsand harassment in the future.

- i used to be really into sports, i've played baskettball for 3 years, volleyball and gymnastics for 1. Now i don't have the time nor the motivation anymore...

- i play the electric guitar (i try)
