Sami Alkhalili, who runs the blogs @sami--onley and @alkliliyfamliye, has a young daughter, Salma, only three months old.
Salma was born in the midst of a genocide, under dangerous conditions. Her first experiences of this world are deeply traumatic-- the sounds of explosions and an all-encompassing collective fear and grief.
He just wants to be able to offer this beautiful little person safety. All children deserve safety from trauma, and it is our responsibility as adults to do everything we can to provide that for them. She deserves to know safety.
You can donate to Sami's fundraiser (gazavetters #21) here:

All of us have a responsibility to the children of Palestine.
🚨We are now fleeing from death, as they have ordered the immediate evacuation of our area. We are in an extremely difficult situation and don't know where to go. Please, help us in these difficult moments.🚨
Please, help us as soon as possible. I am now homeless, we are on the streets, and the situation is getting worse. What makes it even harder is that my husband is injured in the war, and I am the sole provider for my family. I have 5 children, and one of them is a baby with no milk, and she is slowly dying.
We are in urgent need of all the help we can get, and we can’t hold on much longer.

We are now fleeing from our tents due to the difficult and terrifying conditions. We don’t even have means of transportation to reach safe areas. The situation has become overwhelming, and every moment presents a huge challenge in our struggle to stay alive.
Please, help us in these difficult times, as we are in desperate need of any support that can reach us. We need all kinds of help, whether financial or logistical, to be able to reach a safe place.
#HelpUs #Donate
Help us before it's too late, before we die. We are in urgent need of your help in these difficult moments, as every passing minute could be crucial. We cannot face this situation alone.

I need your help to purchase a tent and essential supplies worth 2000 USD. We are in a very difficult situation, and any support you can provide will make a huge difference in helping us survive.

🚨 Urgent Appeal: Save My Family’s Life Before It’s Too Late 🚨
The war is growing more brutal by the day, The planes are raining down shells, burning, killing without mercy. Today, the Israeli army ordered us to evacuate our area immediately amid heavy bombing. Since this morning until now, they have killed 70 people, and my family and I barely survived. 💔
Most families have been displaced, but we do not have the money to escape to safer areas. The cost of transportation and displacement is extremely high, while what little we manage to gather is barely enough to keep us from starving amidst the siege, border closures, and insane price hikes. 😓
Time is running out, and danger surrounds us from all sides. We need to urgently gather the cost of evacuation and transportation to save our lives.
Please, do not leave us alone in this hell.
Your donation now means saving our lives and giving us a chance to live. 🥹🫂

🌟 A Cry for Help: My Family’s Struggle to Survive in Gaza 🌟
Hello, my name is Areej Kassab. I’m a 27-year-old English teacher and writer from Gaza, and I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for support. My family and I are enduring unimaginable hardships as relentless bombings devastate our home and our dreams.
We are a family of 15—10 adults and 5 children. Every day is a battle for survival. Food is scarce, humanitarian aid is not reaching us, and my little nieces and nephews go to bed hungry. Among them is my sister, who is deaf, and another sister who has a newborn baby. They, too, are suffering in this crisis, and I’m doing everything I can to protect and provide for them.
💔 A Life in Ruins The war has robbed us of everything: safety, peace, and even the hope of a future here. My family’s needs are basic yet critical—food, clean water, diapers for the babies, gas for cooking, and other essentials to make it through each day.
With rising prices and limited access to necessities, we are struggling to provide even the most basic items. My sister’s home has been destroyed, and we are working together to ensure everyone has shelter, food, and warmth.
✨ My Plea for Your Support ✨ I’m a writer, and I’ve been documenting the harsh realities faced by my community under siege. But words can only do so much. We need action, and we need help. Your kindness can save us.
🙏 How You Can Help
Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to securing the essentials we desperately need.
Share Our Story: If you can’t donate, please share this post to help us reach others who can.
Your support will help provide food for the children, clean water for my family, and basic supplies to help us survive this unimaginable crisis.

🚨 We Need Your Kindness to Survive 🚨
Hello, My name is Mosab, and I live in Gaza with my family. Life here has become harder than I ever imagined, and I’m writing this with hope in my heart that you might hear our story.
The ongoing war has devastated my family. We’ve lost 25 family members—each one a beloved part of our lives, taken too soon. I miss them deeply—their laughter, their presence, their love. Every day is a reminder of this unimaginable loss.
We are now facing daily challenges to survive—things that most people take for granted, like food, clean water, and a safe place to sleep. The harsh realities of life here have replaced our dreams with the constant fight for survival.
Our Current Situation:
💔 Lost Stability: The war has left us without work or a stable source of income.
📚 Dreams on Hold: Like so many here, my family’s dreams have been replaced by the need to simply survive.
😢 Unimaginable Loss: Losing 25 loved ones has left a void that can never be filled.
How You Can Help:
I’m sharing our story with the hope that someone out there might care. Even $10 can make a big difference for us, and if you’re unable to donate, just reblogging this post can help spread the word.
Your kindness, no matter how small, is something we’ll never forget.
What This Means to Us:
Your support is not about changing our entire situation—it’s about giving us a little relief, a little hope, and a way to keep going. We are not asking for much, and we understand if you can’t donate. Sharing our story is just as valuable to us as a donation.
Thank you for reading this far. It means the world to us to know that someone is listening. Your kindness gives us strength and helps us believe in a better tomorrow.
With all our gratitude,
Mosab and Family ❤️

hey uh. those tags were def racist
Hey friend. I was reflecting on personal experience here. The shit I've let slide in community with people of color, to avoid offending people. But I'm SO done. If people refuse to respect me and my community, think of me as less capable, infantilize me, the gloves are off. I'm sorry. It shouldn't be racist to notice patterns.
What do you mean your community? You understand that includes....poc right?
And in my experience, most people, but ESPECIALLY POC, don't even respect disabled POC. Like, at all.
You didn't bring that up on multiple occasions
You just said, "poc are abelist" which includes the disabled ones
So you're just ableist and racist point blank
Also like what prompted that? You saw a post say "white guilt makes white people say racist our of pocket things" and did exactly that
You didn't read my tags then. Because part of what I said was I had to leave a group because they were being ableist against their own children.
If you can't even understand what I was saying, why are you so angry?
Because white people do that too and you chose not to bring that up
Also still not answering the question, "what prompted this on that post specifically?"
The white people I'm around at least pretend to be better for my sake when I correct them. If I correct a Black friend, acquaintance, or colleague, that's racist.
In my personal experience as a disabled Black person, and the way you are behaving right now, you most likely did say something racist, and yall dont try to hide it. Just call everyone ableist even towards disabled poc, the moment we ask you to confront your own racism
Anyways what prompted this?
A lot of beloved BlackQueer family - people I consider uncles and aunts - calling others the r-slur indiscriminately. Using traumatic brain injury as a joke. Not understanding disability is permanent and yes, you may be asked to help a person sometimes who is less abled than you, and yes, they are entitled to that. Many, many, many instances, too many to name, that I have swallowed over the years.
Congrats, you are blaming poc for the racism and ableism white people brought about to the entire world
I experience all of that with white people, as so the rest of us. And because I'm not white, they really do not care pretend otherwise
Ok. So you just don't care that people are disrespecting you? You consider the horrible things people say to you about your disability, the fact that they consider you less capable and infantile a fact of life, unchangeable, and not continually traumatic?
You deserve better. I deserve better. And I'm sorry.
Oh I care. That's why I care enough to call you out on your racism and ableism
And yet here you are, infantilzing me, and poc(disabled or not). Disregarding white people's ableism and racism because you try oh so desperately to exclude poc out of disabled communities. "But you guys were ableist to your own children" so are white people. Just talk about ableist people
You have a whole white disabled person tell you straight up you're being racist, and you can't even listen to that
Anyways what prompted that for that post?
I told you. There's only so much I can say.
Most of the active hatred - the disgust with my body, the really offensive language, the microaggressions - come from people of color, and they do not respond to being corrected, which has caused me to leave several supposedly leftist groups, including a disability group and several LGBTQ groups, and even my own personal friend groups. White people are more passively hateful and respond to being corrected, which is easier to handle, personally.
Respect should apply to everyone, and everyone should be equally receptive to being corrected. That has not been the case.
"At least white people are passively hateful" ah....so they are babying you because you are white. And you like that. OK I get it, you like it when people infantize you as long as they are white and "nice". Black and Brown people? The moment they as so much have a shift in tone and say, "that wasnt nice" it's pearl clutches with you. Its "im not reading all that". Its the white guilt tantrum of a double down. Ok
Answer the fucking question: what the fuck prompted you to say all that under the post
Listen. If you call me the r-slur and treat me like a child, and refuse to help me with my basic fucking needs, then you aren't getting shit from me. White people don't do that, in my experience. It's not babying. It's human fucking decency.
And yet here you are, being masked off racist and ableist and avoiding answering the question
"Passively hateful" they don't respect you enough as an adult or a human being. They just save face because you are white. It's a microaggression. They will be violent to those of your community the moment they have brown skin. If that bothers you, reflect on that
