Cry for Help from Beneath the Rubble

No words can describe the suffering we endure here in Gaza. Life no longer feels like life. Today, with the border crossings closed once again and humanitarian aid halted, our suffering has doubled. Even the most basic necessities have become an unattainable luxury.

Like thousands of other families, my family struggles to survive in this nightmare. We live among the rubble, carrying water from long distances because our infrastructure has been destroyed. Prices have skyrocketed, making food and medicine nearly impossible to afford.

Every day is a new battle, and every moment without food, medicine, or hope adds to our pain. We ask for nothing but the right to live, the right to safety, and the right to find someone who will stand with us in this darkness.

To everyone who can help, to every heart that beats with compassion my family needs you. Every contribution, no matter how small, could mean the difference between life and death. Please, don’t leave us alone in this suffering.

As you know, my family and I (7 members) are still at war and there are no salaries or any income. My brothers, Firas, 20, is in his second year of software engineering, Batoul is in high school, Layan is in 11th grade, and Jude is in 6th grade. As you know, education costs are so high that one notebook is $3! So how about a family with a great educational need for more than one member! This is Doaa @doaaadas

Originally from north Gaza, Doaa lived with her parents in a comfortable home. When the IOF invaded, they became trapped in their home for days, going hungry and thirsty for much of that time. When they finally escaped, Doaa’s father was killed and Doaa was injured.

Since that day, Doaa’s health has been extremely fragile. She tries to receive what treatment she can, but the lack of availability of care has exacerbated her injury and created a cascade of health problems.

Doaa is currently in surgery and she is in very poor condition. Although we are glad she was able to get this procedure, it is not going to be a cure-all. She will still have serious health problems, and the trauma of the surgery itself will leave her weak and vulnerable to infection and disease.

Doaa has only her mother with her. Her mother is terrified and exhausted, and has no source of income. Please help them afford basic necessities like water, food, and supplies for managing Doaa’s health going forward.

Relief for Rafah needs funding to provide clean drinking water, food, and cash assistance to families in the Al-Genina District of Rafah. Despite the ceasefire, the aid entering the strip is not meeting the needs of the Palestinians in Rafah. Clean drinking water is desperately needed as well as edible food. Not to mention, the level of displacement remains high, with many families returning to piles of rubble. We aim to step in where the international aid organizations aren't.
