A rarepair with Rei's family inviting Rin over to welcome in the new year. Rin gets queasy but thinks he can handle it but soon gets sick please (spewing at someone elses, been there :'[ )

AN: you sent this prompt in about a month ago and it’s one of the oldest in my inbox that I never got around to filling! I’ll fill this in exchange, but I’m sorry I took so long!

Generally, Rin can make a good impression.

They don’t talk about the impressions he made on people in high school, because that is generally acknowledged as Not A Good Time for Rin. His first impression on Rei had been an awful one, and sometimes Rin still isn’t sure how his boyfriend ever got past it.

Maybe that is why he feels so determined to impress Rei’s parents – a penance, of sorts. He wants so desperately for them to see him as the sort of person their beautiful, brilliant son deserves. He’d been so determined that he’d wound up ignoring it when he’d woken this morning with a distinctly queasy churning in his belly.

Now he can only say he regrets it, as he stumbles from the dinner table with a hasty excuse of having to use the bathroom. Never mind that he has no clue where the bathroom is – he just needs to be away from the table, away from anyone who can see him lose it.

In lieu of the bathroom he tries to go for the front door. He isn’t fast enough; he winds up slumped against the wall as a fit of silent gagging overtakes him, stealing the breath from his lungs. He can feel sickness beginning to surge up his throat, and all he can do is clamp a hand over his mouth.

“Rin-san, I’m sorry, the bathroom is the other wa– oh.” Rei’s voice cuts off abruptly as he takes in the miserable sight of his boyfriend struggling not to vomit. Rin feels a hot flood of shame wash over him – followed by the flood that spills from his mouth seconds later.

He can’t help himself as he doubles over, Rei’s arms around his shoulders the only thing holding him up. He continues to choke on more bile, the knowledge that Rei’s parents are just in the other room causing his heart to pound. What sort of impression is this?

When he pulls back from the puddle of his own sick, hot tears stream down his cheeks. He chokes on air, horror grabbing his throats like a vice, as he turns to Rei. “Fuck – Rei, I’m sorry –”

“Shh,” Rei soothes, rubbing his shoulders in the most comforting way imaginable. “It’s alright, Rin-san.”

“Your parents –”

“My parents are both doctors,” Rei cuts him off, a bit of wry amusement in his tone. “I think they’ll understand.”

Defeated, Rin slumps back in his boyfriend’s arms.

I would so luv Gou turning up to visit an under the weather Rin and Seijuro just loitering, which riles Rin, but when telling Seijuro off him off he gets violent hiccups, which esculate to throw up. Luv ya btw.

It’s more of an act of charity that she visits her brother in his time of need. Not that she wouldn’t have visited anyway – she’s a good sister, for as much as she and her brother may have grown distant from each other. It’s an act of charity, because Rin obviously does not want or need her help.

She’d been called to Samezuka Academy by Captain Mikoshiba, who explained that Rin had locked himself in his room after classes and refused to come to practice. He’d also ignored both the captain and his roommate when they tried to coax him out. Maybe Mikoshiba just wanted an excuse to see her – that was fine, since his plan wound up working.

All Gou had needed to do was hammer on Rin’s door a few times, bellow out “let me in, nii-san!”, and Rin did what he refused to for both the captain and Nitori – he opened the door.

Kisumi had absolutely no problem with sick people. Especially sick boyfriends – he could handle them easily.

Sure, sick people could be tough to deal with. They were clingy; they were needy; they were kind of gross; and if they were anything like Rin, they got mad if you were paying them too much or too little attention. But Kisumi wasn’t only a trooper, he had what his mother called “a caring hand” – the product of many days nursing a sickly younger brother back to health.

Hayato’s immune system had gotten better with age; Kisumi, too, didn’t get sick often. Still, his boyfriends tended to be made of tougher stuff than he was. Sousuke barely ever caught even a cold, and Rin – while illnesses weren’t uncommon – never held on to them for long.

omg that fic you just posted with gou taking care of rin was absolutely perfect, i loved it so much! do you think you could write something set in the first season where rin overexerts himself and pukes by the side of the pool? (bonus points if someone like nitori or mikoshiba insists on helping him when they see him get sick)

He had to keep swimming.

God, his stomach was killing him. Cramps ricocheted through his entire body, jarring him when he least expected it; an overwhelming feeling of nausea threatened to overpower him any time he stayed still. That’s why he had to keep moving.

He pushed himself through the water despite his limbs feeling like lead; worked his muscles in defiance of joints that felt stuffed with cotton. He forced himself to move faster, to be stronger, because he simply couldn’t afford to get sick right now. He didn’t have time to be sick.
