5 Questions with Bo Aganaba ____________________________
What motivates you?
What motivates me is the high of bopping your head to your own creations. When something you’ve made gives you the stank face, you know you’re on to something. That feeling is addicting, and the more you work, the more it comes around.
What’s the best part of what you do?
Right now it’s still a hobby for me, so one pro is that I don’t have any of the stress that music careers can often come with. I just get to use my spare time doing what I love and it keeps it attractive for me. The best part about being a musician is performing though. There’s no feeling in the world like playing your guts out for a crowd that digs you.
What most inspiring thing a listener of your music told you?
This one is easy for me. I wrote a song called Light & Dark a few years ago on the subject of depression, self injury, and suicide and somebody posted that the song had saved their life. I can only hope I keep writing songs that mean something to somebody.
Does a specific state of mind or mood generate your best work?
I don’t know if this is common or not but I LOVE to write during thunderstorms! I dunno what it is but they just get me in the mood to create things. Aside from that, I think creating music is just a muscle that you have to exercise. The more you write, the better you become.
What’s next for yourself?
I’m still in school so finishing that is my first priority. I’m always working on music in my spare time so watch this space!
