do NOT put your faith into a hockey player! i get they’re great inspiration for writing, drawing, etc… but to rely on some men to be you’re entire basis on if you like hockey… no, join the fandom, meet new people, share your ideas! Hockey doesn’t have to be only about the player, it’s about so much more! Learn the game, support your team, but also expand your horizons! Get involved, be creative! Life already sucks, enjoy hockey if it makes you happy… don’t let this ruin it for yall :3

on this note it incredibly important for new fans of hockey who got into it from heated rivalry to understand that hockey players are not the saints they imagine ilya and shane to be. they are all, most of the time, not going to be the people you want them to be. No celebrity worship in hockey either unfortunately
