Anyone who has ever made a resolution discovers that the strength of that determination fades in time. The moment you feel that is when you should make a fresh determination. Tell yourself, “OK! I will start again from now!” If you fall down seven times, get up an eighth. Don’t give up when you feel discouraged—just pick yourself up and renew your determination each time. The important thing is not that our resolve never wavers, but that we don't get down on ourselves or throw in the towel when it does. The fact that we realize we've become lazy is evidence we are growing.

I appreciate Dave Pulcinella’s insights and tough love approach to training and failure. Almost all the things he talks about are challenges I have struggled with in my own training.
