It is time for me to emerge from the dark. Show off my new art skills. My mastery of colour and light. My cinematic compositions skills that would even make Steven Spielberg cry!
(EVIL VILLAIN LAUGH! Cough, cough,cough)
Alright. I may be exaggerating. Just an ever so slightly… But I really like how this piece turned out. Especially compared to the DRUMROLL!!!
My first post in the Squirrel and Hedgehog fandom. Nearly 3 years ago. Can you believe that? The OG isn’t that bad. For how much I way dislike my early digital art, I will be always grateful for getting me where I am now. I’m still far from a professional artist. But at least I can see myself reaching that level one day.
The OG piece is interesting because it’s in the show’s style. I would immediately (literally the next piece I made) turn to using my old furry art style. Slapping animal heads on human bodies. I didn’t know what I wanted my art to be back then then. All I knew was to just copy reality. Mainly for the ego boost. I bet every artist tried to copy a photo only for it to look like shit. So finally reaching that level where I could make a thing look like that it’s supposed to… I felt like I was a master of my craft. Like I won at art. All the while losing my ability to draw from imagination.
These are my current designs for Geumsaegi, Juldarami and Bamsaegi now. I enjoy making them look all cute and cuddly. I love when thriller/horror shows have cute main characters. Think Madoka Magica.
I think if you asked me now what I want my art to be this would be my answer: I just want all those cool stories in my mind to be out there in the real world. I still will do studies. But only so I can communicate my ideas better.
