Fig Faeth for the Mirror Image Zine, ran as a part of the @d20zinejam.

The Mirror Image zine was created by @voxphantasma and @charlilil. The goal was to recreate an exsisting artwork as d20 characters/locations/etc. My piece was based on "Salome" by Feliks Michał Wygrzywalski.

Overall, the artists participating in the ZINE JAM created 61 zines. The bundle is pay what you want with all the proceeds going to the UN’s occupied Palestinian Territory Humanitarian Fund.

We have been on our way to save us since before the lights of our world were first lit.” Is singlehandedly one of the most beautiful love quotes I’ve ever heard as someone that reads a pretty decent amount of poetry and it will always tickle me knowing it comes from a d&d campaign where, in one of the the first ever episodes, one of the main characters launches himself into the butthole of a monster made out of creamed corn.

Just a bullet list of thoughts!

The parallel between Evan Kelmp's wand being of made of bone and Lemli snapping bones is what inspired this piece. they're both showing how they revert back to their natural states: Evan grew up in a constant survival state, always prepared for a fight. And then there's Lemli who fell back on the guidance of bigoted followers of the old way of magic once the Pilot Program left.

Evan's stance has his shoulders raised, his eyes peering through his brow ridge, a tight white knuckle grip on his wand. he's ready for a battle. Lemli is relaxed, detached. She's become desensitized to doing what must be done even if it involves murder.

I read some Tumblr user's live reaction of how K's broken rib could've released magic too and the fact that Lemli was the first one who made it to them was probably no coincidence. so I wanted to capture some of that magic essence coming from K

I also don't know any code and saw this screencap of some captcha code and thought it was low-key funny to have Boudy's magic succeed the captcha in order to get through the pink firewall

Yes, Sam and Evan’s friendship is heartfelt and Evan and Jammer’s friendship is so kind and K and Sam’s friendship is so relatable, but Jammer and K’s friendship is so charming.

I think what the cast of mismag has done so well is show how different people can be friends even with wildly different interests and experiences.
