“ you know i can sense when something is bothering you, right? ” blunt and to the point as always. she’s never been one to beat around bushes though the path through them might be thorny underfoot. but it doesn’t mean she lacks an understanding. spock isn’t like most people. difficult to read; good at keeping his thoughts and feelings well to himself. she sniffs them out all the same. animal hypersensitivity even in the yawning vacuum of space.
wolfin steps forward until she stands next to him, posture loose. lets her arm almost brush against his. half - tempted to take his hand. instead she keeps just a little bit of distance for his comfort rather than his own. “ talk to me, spock, ” she says, quieter now. “ you’re worried. ”
the only discomfort spock feels lies within her confrontation. posture instinctively straightening as wolfin halts next to his rigid form. perhaps that’s part of what he likes about her. the way she picks up on those subtle nuances that remained lost to humans. the unexplainable understanding she possessed of the way he carries himself opening her up to offering these forms of support. comparatively , however ── the displays & discussions made him severely uncomfortable. aside from his limited skills regarding the expression of emotion , discussing these matters with this woman in particular sparked feelings that he did not wish to confront.
a breath is taken in through the nose. head tilting to look at her somewhat before eyes return to where they had been previously transfixed. “i have become aware of your certain instincts & how they seem to effect your perception of body language.” spock starts. offering a brush of his fingers to the back of her hand. “but i am having trouble attempting to express my discontent to you in an appropriate fashion.”
