Now is no time to be sober
A guy on TV offered to save my soul toll-free But that would require getting up off the couch so I was too lazy Instead I wait in the bushes outside of a copâs house holding a twelve-gauge GOD ISNâT DEAD BUT IâLL GET THAT BASTARD SOMEDAY!
And Iâd take the beauty of my chaos over anyone elseâs perfection Iâve woken up on the wrong side of the bed every day since 1987 Nothing scares me as much as the fact that I donât give a shit for redemption But thatâs okay cos if itâs where Limbaugh goes then I donât even want any part of Heaven
The Ghost Inside

Hunter rubbed his eyes and squinted at the girl. Had she taken a photo of him to try and see a ghost? For real? âI could say the same to you,â He kind of yelled at her, not really intentionally, but heâd been startled, too. However, unlike her, he was not disappointed at this news.
When he heard the other person he thought was here scream out to them he almost jumped. âShit. Shit, fuck,â He muttered. He was a poet really. He turned back to the girl and said, âWhoever that is, isnât a ghost either. But fuck me.â
Maybe Hades was wrong, maybe this was the wrong address. This place just had curious humans and a spooky atmosphere, nothing to see here. Hopefully.
âShould we answer the voice?â Hunter asked the girl.
âI was really hoping I would get a picture of some cool ghost.â Artie pouted and deleted the picture, acting like some child who didnât get what she wanted. Alright, so far this trip was an absolute bust. If this guy wasnât at least fun to hang out with then she would probably just go home. This wasnât even worth having Noah yell at her, which would most likely happen no matter what.
Instead of getting scared when she heard the voice, a smile soon appeared on her face and she almost ran towards it, but this guy was freaking the fuck out. What was he even doing here if he was this scared? Maybe he did it as some bet or something. It was kind of funny watching him, actually. He looked like he was about to shit himself!
âHell yeah we should. Hey, you a ghost or what!?â And that was when she ran to where the voice was coming from, only to find a perfectly normal guy again. Goddammit.
âWell fuck, youâre not a ghost either.â
He made his way towards the murmurs, cautiously realizing that they were coming from humans and not ghosts or demons or anything else that could kill himâŠthough, shit wait, humans were totally capable of that too. When he was finally close enough to see them in the darkness, he couldnât believe it. Some giddy excited girl and a boy that looked like he was about to shit his pants. Though, Richard was in the same boat as him so he wasnât sure how much he could judge. It looked strange, and they obviously werenât any kind of dealers or ghosts; he would have quickly been able to tell either way. Were they those stupid ghost hunters he was always seeing on the Travel channel? This was getting weirder and weirder, and turning into some twisted real-life horror movie.
âWhat the fuck are you two doing here?â he asked, trying to show some sense of authority, although he was clenching his fists tight inside his jacket pockets in fear.

Gage walked around, and as she walked, the longer she went without seeing another person made her more and more worried. Werenât people supposed to check the store for customers before they shut it down? Especially in a place like this, because it just seemed like the easiest place for this sort of thing to happen.
She stepped around a corner, looked to her left at a line of empty made beds, and continued forward until she saw two guys moving to her right. âWhat the-?â She freaked out a little and almost asked what they were doing here, but then realized, they were probably doing the same thing as her. The smaller blonde guy seemed a lot nicer, she decided to look at him when she spoke, âDo you guys know where the exit is? Iâd really like to get out of here.â
Henry was trying to lead Walker in the right direction, but he seemed determined to just not listen to him at all. He was so fucking stupid! Why couldnât he just look at him or even try to talk to him for five seconds? If he was stuck with him all the night he would probably end up killing him. Well Noah, say goodbye to your best friend forever! He ended up jumping and yelping a little when he heard a random voice. He took a step back before he looked out to see a girl standing there. She seemed just as lost as them and obviously wanted out of here. Alright, well maybe he could just follow her around until they found a way out. Then he go home and sleep and ignore Walker forever. âWe have no idea. Iâve been trying to figure it out.â She seemed nice, at least.
Richard could hear a few voices a couple aisles down, and silently thanked God that he wasnât the only idiot stuck in this Swedish hellhole. He walked towards the voices, trying to act like he hadnât heard their entire conversation as he walked into view.
âDo you guys know how to get out of here?â He already knew the answer was going to be no, so maybe he shouldâve asked a better question, but it was better so come in looking confused and normal than confused and completely suspicious and weird. âCause I just wanted a damn bed frame and now...â He motioned around them to show that there was absolutely no fucking bed frames in sight and he was obviously just as lost as they were.
Iâm not a good person.
Ask anyone who knows me.
Iâm mean and bitter and a failure at everything that I say I believe.
Iâm not a good person.
Ask anyone who loves me.
I never write, I never call, I never think about anyone at all.
Iâm not a good person, no matter what I do.
My exhaustion will consume me and Iâm too tired for the truth.
Iâm not a good person.
Iâm sure youâre not surprised.
It must be pouring out my sweat glands, it must be someplace in my eyes.
I donât know why I am this way.
Itâs been like this since I can remember.
I try to keep up with everything I know I should do, but then I fall to pieces anyway.
I donât know why I am the way.
Iâm not a good person, not even to you.
Iâm staying home because I canât stand the sound of another heartbeat in the room.
Iâm not a good person.
Fuck it, you know itâs true
Iâm lazy, Iâm a coward, Iâm asleep all day in my room.
I donât know why I am this way.
Itâs been like this since I can remember.
I try to keep up with everything I know I should do, but then I fall to pieces anyway.
I donât know why I am the way.
The Ghost Inside
Hunter had strict orders from Dad. Some trapped souls in an abandoned, collapsing building in the middle of a bad area of a worse city needed reaping. âGhosts and poltergeists donât belong anywhere outside the Underworld,â heâd said before Hunter had the chance to protest. âYouâre reaper, your job is to lead them into my humble and abiding arms. Donât be a pussy.â You see, the only problem wasâŠHunter was a total pussy. And that fucking warehouse was no joke, he knew as soon as he pulled up in his car. It looked like people had pretty recently broken into it, but he figured it was just teens thinking the rumors about this place were fake. Instead, he found a very tall girl, poking around, on high alert for any disturbance, and somewhere nearby was a man, but Hunter had no clue exactly where, since it was so fucking dark. He stepped out of sight from the girl but almost made himself scream when he knocked over a bunch of broken wood on the floor with his feet. He hated this place.
Artie heard a crash of something falling and immediately pulled her phone out, thinking it was some spooky, scary ghost coming for her. Oh man, this was so cool! What if they were looking to get revenge for their deaths or something by killing people who wandered in here. Instead of freaking out like any normal person with some goddamn common sense, she ran towards the noise with her phone held up, only to find some normal guy standing there. Oh man, that was no fun. Sadly through her excitement, she had already hit the button on her phone to take a picture, so the flash hit him and now she had a picture of some random dude who looked like he was about to piss his pants. That wasnât really something that she could show off to Henry to brag about. Ugh, where were the fucking ghosts!? âShit, youâre not a ghost.â You could tell just by her voice that she was disappointed.
What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck? What was that noise? It pierced Richardâs ears and he felt his entire body tense up. Almost immediately after he could hear footsteps and then, in the distance (he assumed the other side of the wearhouse) there was a quick and bright flash...Jesus christ, he was going to piss himself and die sober. That was not the way he wanted to go down.Â
âWhose there?!â he shouted into the darkness, which he regretted seconds after doing it. That was like asking someone to come out of the shadows and kill him. He assumed maybe he would see or hear them coming from far enough away that he could run, but if it was a ghost or something...did they even make noise? Could they hide themselves from even him? All he knew for sure was that whatever the hell was hidden in this wearhouse, he wasnât among that list anymore.
yeah weâve made some stupid decisions
The Ghost Inside
Artie had made another stupid decision.
The moment she heard of this random wearhouse that was possibly haunted, she was already getting a plan ready. How could she not go to a fucking abandoned wearhouse and hunt for ghosts!? Of course she couldnât let anyone know where she was going. Henry would try to stop her and Noah would take her laptop away again. Why couldnât anyone just let her have fun? I mean, there was a distinct possibility that either a demon or an actual ghost was wandering around, but she would be fine. She knew how to take care of herself.
On a night where Henry was fast asleep and Noah was out for the evening, Artie slipped on her shoes and ran out the door, getting there as fast as she could. Of course she was used to running so she got there in no time. Oh man, this was so fucking exciting!
Why were drug addicts so obsessed with the dirty unsterile aesthetic? It couldnât be good for business to sell heroin, an already infamously unsterile drug, in an abandoned wearhouse. Still, Richard was pretty sure he didnât have place to complain, so that was why he was walking into a dark warehouse in the middle of the night with just a flashlight and 100 dollars cash.Â
He tried to ignore the strange creaking sounds and morphed shadows on the walls, telling himself he was shaking for a fix, not because he was a fucking wiener.Â

All she wanted was a new coffee table. The cats destroyed the last one by scratching up the posts beyond the point of no return, and all she had to do to break it was set a heavy text book on top. But this? This is not what she wanted.
Theyâd warned customers 4 minutes ago that theyâd be closing soon. But the lights were already starting to shut off and, looking around now, she hadnât seen anyone but a handful of other customers since the announcement. This store was so damn big she wasnât even sure where she was or how to find that out without climbing on top of shit to get a better view of the layout of this place. Although she had a feeling even if she did that, that the store was so fucking huge that all she would see was a foggy distance ahead and nothing but mattresses and storage units for all the world to see.
She swore to every god ever if she got herself stuck in this fucking place, she was never going to leave her house again.
What were they supposed to be getting again? Henry swore it was a mattress but Walker seemed to think that it was a fucking lamp. Jesus christ, the dude probably wasnât even listening to Noah when he explained to them what they needed to get. Ugh, why did he even have to go to Ikea with this guy anyways?
Henry walked inside with Walker, keeping some distance. The guy didnât look at him at all and wasnât even trying to talk to him. This was worst thing Noah ever had him do. Goddammit, he was ready to fucking go home. He could have been in his bed, curled underneath his warm covers. Oh my god, he just wanted to go home!
Soon they heard over the speaker that they were about to close. Henry was ready to head to the exit, but Walker started to try to argue with him about where the exit was. Wait, the lights were going off. Oh my god, he did not want to be stuck in here with Walker all night long.
Right. Okay. Ikea. Thatâs what properly functioning members of society did; they went to Ikea and the bought desks and lamps and bed frames and all that shit that made up a house and they looked normal. Of course, that wasnât really what he was there for, he had given up home of being a functioning member of society back when he decided to live in a shitty apartment with 8 other people instead of going to college. He was just here to find a bed frame. He made enough money at work now to be able to afford the rent and his drugs, and he was sick of sleeping on a plain mattress on the ground as people stepped over him to get to the kitchen. This was a step up but...
Jesus, was he supposed to have done research or something? There was so many different kinds of frames for different sizes and shapes and some were metal others were wooden and...was that plastic? What the hell? Why couldnât he just buy one? Every time he asked a store clerk they told him they didnât have enough information to help him. What did you need? He had a mattress. On the fucking ground. In the slums of Chicago. Just give him a fucking bed frame.
Then the announcement came on, announcing they were closing soon, and Richard wasnât even in the bedroom section anymore. He had somehow find his way into the depths of Ikea, looking at the strange miscellaneous items that he was convinced had no real purpose...How had he gotten here? How was he getting back?
