Ha! No. I just think about random things like this. Besides I’m more likely to try to impress a boy rather than a girl
ahh--boys? that's interesting. but i think it might work though, you should try it out sometime and tell me what happens.
I wonder if you can make the clouds into any shape you want..
with a little help -- i'm sure you can. why? trying to woo some girl?
"I dunno, just thought you wouldn’t be that desperate to eat at home." Sura just shrugged, just looking down at his noodles. Waterbending up 12 stories would just be unnecessary when you could just wait later. He wasn’t desperate to get home and was perfectly happy sitting at his little booth of comfort. "Suit yourself. I probably won’t be back until late." Not that it really matters to you, anyway. He added mentally, swishing his broth around and giving a polite smile that was borderline fake as the man announced his leave, eating another mouthful.
nilak glances away, eyes flicking to the girls a table across as his lips curve slightly, tongue slipping out moist his lower lip before his attention turns back to the male before her, head tilting and brow arched. "i don't know how you'd think it as desperate when i already told you i have a sister at home waiting to be fed -- if you think this is me trying to get away from you then, again i suggest you get over yourself, sura." he gives the male a look -- honestly a bit irritated by his little irrational temper tantrum by now; he's dealing with a child here.
"alright -- come back when you've grown up a little then." nilak spares a laugh, pivoting on his heel to walk out of the shop.
At being called weirdo, Sura just ate his food nonchalantly, though mentally thought to himself his meal wasn’t as good as the ones he made back home. He blinked up at the smirk, his shoulders coming up in a shrug as if to say - ‘suit yourself’. “The elevator’s under construction today at our apartment, you might be waiting a while unless you want to go up twelve stories by stairs, just so you know.” Sura turned on his heel and slid into a booth, chopsticks digging into his ramen and slurping the noodles up, shoulders relaxing at the taste. His eyes flickered up around him to see lots of girls - maybe it was someone’s birthday party or gathering? Nevertheless, Sura’s cheeks went red and head bowed down to the bowl in anxiety.
he scoffs at the boy's words, honestly amused by lack of proper reasoning in the other's words as he rolls his eyes, a boyish grin playing on his lips. "sure -- let's pretend i'm not actually a waterbender and i'd have to walk up flights of stairs like some nonbender instead of bending my way up." nilak snorts, "dumbass." the waterbender mutters under his breath, brow arching as he watches the other basically kiss the bowl, head tilting to the side curiously.
"don't kill yourself over a bowl of noodles, sura -- i'll see you later."
Anyone But You | Nilak & Sura
"Oh- sorry, I didn’t see you-" Doe-eyed, Sura looked up and went to bow formally - a habit long-etched into his subconscious, only for his eyes to look up and stare when he immediately recognised his face. Shit. No. No, no this was not a good idea, Republic City was now a very bad idea. He glared up at the man, lips pressing together in a thin line, hands curling as if to bend the man’s face off that had annoyed him so much in his life. “You.” It was all he could say, accusingly so, his nostrils flaring, his arms folding to contain his irritation. He didn’t even know what to say, his face was going red with anger. “Actually, if you’re here, I think I might leave, get a refund, go back to the North -” He turned, to see the boat already long on it’s way to the horizon, a whine escaping heart-shaped lips. “Shit.” He swore, something he never would have said in public in the North. He was staying. That was that; the metallic shine of the back of the ship seemed to be laughing at his demise. His face turned, jaw clenching, the much shorter man a little packet of rage as his eyes narrowed at him. “Do you purposely try to ruin my life? What are you doing here?” He grumbled, looking away.
the salty sea air is almost sweet with the scent of freedom, nilak happily inhales the air—different from the northern water tribe—as he makes his way off the ship and onto the port of the infamous republic city, eyes darting from building to building. how interesting – a good part of him is leaping at the chance to explore freely. a glance backward shows that his twin had already raced forward in a manner most nukka—if he had been a better brother, he would have been worried. but given the fact that nilak is the best brother, he knows fully well that nukka was more than capable to take care of herself; she had already been notified of where they were going to be staying.
as it was, nilak is a little too preoccupied with the growing heat that accumulates the further he steps off the ship and onto the port, face scrunching up at the slightest bit of perspiration forming at his lower back. “great.” the waterbender mutters under his breath, rough fingers lifting to unbutton fur lined coat and shrugging it off his shoulders to reveal tanned skin to the sun as he tugs at the white tank sticking to his skin.
hot.
it’s hot.
“go—“ nilak stops short of another bumping into him, blinking in muted surprise as he turns to face the person—only to pause once he realizes who he was. unsurprisingly enough, sura is of the first to show hostility between the two of them. “me.” he replies, amusement tinting his words as he observes the other’s little “fit” – humor mounting once he finishes acting out his little inner conflict.
“don’t be so self-obssessed, who said i was here to ruin your life?” nilak rolls his eyes, “get over yourself, sura.”
heyyy kids who are online -- my aim is mightymios so hit me up okay ~
who even is online rn ):
His eyes had looked up to return the eye-contact, though immediately regretted it when Nilak said words that just stung. He regretted it immediately, his lips pulling back in a slight cringe, and looking away. His eyes flitted away, wondering if he could run off, but it wasn’t like Nilak would really care anyway. There’s no way this man was capable of feeling remorse. His little legs trotted faster than Nilak, Sura getting in line before him and requesting Nilak’s favourite meal out of spite, noticing the tray it was on had hardly anything left. He smiled at the cashier, who told him that he was lucky because that was all they had for today and he had gotten the last bits of chicken. Then, his smile faded as he looked at Nilak as he took the bowl of ramen in his hands, large eyes boring into Nilak’s, pupils as black as bottomless pits. “Woops.” He said without an inkling of remorse, taking his chopsticks and ate a piece of delicious chicken right in front of him.
he says nothing when the shorter male rushes before him, brow arched at the semi-ridiculous display of immaturity as he takes his time trudging after, making it in just in time to see the boy turn and face him with the stupidest deer in headlights expression etched onto his features. “what?” he tilts his head, eyes lowering to the bowl in the other’s hands as he takes a second to put a name on the peculiar piece of meat swimming in it. what was it? looked like nothing the northern tribe had to offer—arctic hen, maybe; but nilak has never been one of poultry—“weirdo.” he mutters under his breath—yet loud enough for the other to hear—as he brushes past him, adorning a friendly smile for the likes of the shop owner as his eyes peer around the displays of meat (fake? probably, he’s not too sure anyway) along the bar before ordering two bowls of seafood seaweed noodles topped with (what luck, they actually have it) blubbered seal jerky—both his and his sister’s favorite.
“to go, please.” he utters, a thank you following suit as he shifts to pay the male—finding with delight that they already had everything packaged for him. they were right to say that things move faster than the norms in the likes of this giant city. “alright – have fun eating, i’ll see you back at the apartment.” he turns to sura, lips forming a smirk as he raises a hand in a sort of goodbye wave before pivoting on his heel, heading out of the establishment.
is the fire nation attacking
on his way to steal your heart.
At Nilak’s words, he found himself staring at the ground again, trying to contain his irritation in a threatening-to-waver poker face, chewing on his bottom lip. So Nilak wasn’t doing shit, as he so eloquently put it, and that made Sura’s hands curl a little in anger. It’s not like he wanted to do chores either, but it was things that had to be done for their well being. Staring up at Nilak, he wondered when the man would grow up, but really, maybe he had grown up and this was his permanent personality, at which Sura cringed to himself. He didn’t say anything as he stood, knowing whatever he wanted Nilak wouldn’t put into account anyway, so followed him, eyes hard. He was silent, until: “… I just thought after everything you’ve done, maybe you wanted to at least make something up for me.” He mumbled, talking more to himself than anything, his nose dipping into his scarf as large eyes flickered around to restaurants, none of them standing out to him.
he's been indifferent all along, not the slightest bit affected by the shorter male's obvious nagging -- it's irritating, but nilak was never going to let something as small as that get to him. at the mumbled words, his ears twitch, brow arching as a small laugh escapes him. "what the fuck?" he sounds incredulous more than anything, head turning just to meet his eyes as he tilts his head, "why in the world do you think i'd want to make something up to you? did you hit your head on the ship over or what." he rolls his eyes, scoffing under his breath--ridiculous. "let's get something from here." the waterbender jerks his head toward the nearest ramen stand, already walking toward the direction.
Sura was having a hard time keeping his anger under wraps at this point, staring off into the distance and exhaling deeply, nostrils flaring. Jaw clenching, the little bundle of rage looked at him with a glare and refrained from smacking the grin off his face. “Look, it’s really hard for me if you keep slacking off. So either you’re going to pitch in and do something useful around the house or I’ll be only cleaning my part of the house and only cooking enough to feed me.” He scowled, looking away and thinking this was a hopeless case. His small hands curled into fists, the fact he just said wasn’t going to cook for Nilak made his motherly-tendencies want to cry. Why was he friendly to everyone except him? The guy who made him dinner? “Mm. Some for Nukka.” He said nonchalantly, nodding once.
his expression seems almost solemn for a moment, before nilak's well--everything gets the best of him as a smile breaks through in response to the pure absurdity of the demands coming form the boy before him. "no, you look -- our parents wanted us to share the place together, not start up a little cleaning company. i'm not doing shit--i came all the way out here to avoid chores--you can cook for yourself all you want. it doesn't make a difference to me." he waves a hand, brushing off the whole thing with his usual flippancy as he steps forward, peering down the street curiously to see the types restaurants this particular block has to offer. "cmon, if the little princess gets hungry she's going to get testy."
"You’re the worst, what have I even done to you?"
"Nothing, which is why you deserve the truth."
( ` lips crack into a grin ) and just when republic city couldn’t get any better— ( ` draws herself from the couch she’d been laying upon, tossing the magazine she had been perusing to wander over to the feline ) — you manage to surprise me. not so lacking, nilak. ( ` offers it her hand to sniff before tentatively reaching to scratch under its chin, biting her tongue to withhold the coo that bubbles in her mouth the moment she hears it begin to purr ) where’d you find this little snowdrop?
< ` spares a laugh at her words, wholly unaffected as he lifts a hand to rub at the back of his neck absently, eyes rolling in response > ah, i remember the good ol' days when you'd cry whenever i step out for too long. < ` snorts softly as he reaches out, ruffling his younger sister's hair roughly > a few blocks away from here -- it's so easy to lure in these things with some bread crumbs. < ` shakes his head > gullible little things. are you going to keep it? < ` furrows his brows slightly > actually are pets even allowed on that ship?
( ` looks her twin up and down, interest piquing and brows raising as she detects the air of something worth interest ) is it cute? no wait, is it fluffy? ( ` cute was too open to an assortment of things )
< ` smirks at the obvious shift of interest in his sister -- nilak knew her better than anyone, after all > you'll see. < ` opens the door to their apartment a bit bigger before pressing his lips together to whistle lightly, moving his foot behind the feline that had followed him the last few blocks > probably would be more fluffy if you gave it a bath though.
