when black people protested over police brutality the optics were literally never in their favor. white people talked more about the ethics of disruption and vandalism and looting than they did police brutality. and when they maimed and kidnapped and murdered protesters, those names never went viral. so it's real insidious to see how public opinion sways when it's white people in the streets. white people can block traffic and trash ice headquarters. white people get a whole new narrative. they get the martyr treatment. then they act like this violence is unprecedented and something like this has never happened before and we all have to sit here and watch history get rewritten because white people want to be the heroes now. this shit is fucking diabolical.

and the funny thing is white people have truly learned nothing from these protests. their whole playbook was co-opted from blm and yet they're still making excuses for ice. the takeaway for them isn't that ice is inherently evil, it's that trump's ice specifically is untrained and violent. they think the national guard will save them. they think regular cops are on their side. how fucking laughable.

deleted the app at around midnight so 14 hours right now. i don't really count the time i was asleep, so... 4 hours.

went on desktop to try and disable my accounts, the system is down or something 😒

still want to go on it on mobile but i haven't

tried graphic design for a bit and got super stuck after being on a roll for a bit. hopefully i can make it into the new year without re-installing the app.

didn't go on at all today, left the house to hang out with my friends and met someone i sorta know from somewhere. nice to hang out with friends for a bit and just do nothing very productive. wasn't really on my laptop much at all today, read a bit too. it's a book about the dangers of alcohol in relation to colonialism to remind myself part of why I'm straight edge.

also earlier this year I thought about adding technology addiction to my personal pledge (i read Irresistible by Adam Alter a few years ago and started making moves into physical media and did pretty good in curbing my social media usage, but that didn't last unfortunately)

i don't think i can truly completely cut out my smartphone, but i can be more intentional with how i use it.

got a pocket thesaurus and that helped and now i have a planner as well, so... steps.

i want an mp3 player maybe but scrobbling...

made it through new years. still going between having the app installed and not, average use time of an hour per day, trying not to use it every day.
