How The Fire Started - Eric Nam - Rob Rausch

In this music video by Eric Nam, the singer sets the story of the villain, Robby Bobby (Rob Rausch) holding many of their Traitors co-stars prisoner at his ranch, forcing them to work and not allowing them to leave. Eric The Vengeful arrives to save them, lassoing Robby Bobby and tying him to a wooden structure. The gang then beats him up, including choking him, punching him, cutting off his overalls, and dousing him with gasoline. They then light a match and walk away as Robby is left to burn in "a fire you started," but Ron decides this wasn't right and goes back to save him, carrying a passed out Robby out of the smoke in his arms.

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice (2026) - James Marsden as Mike

Mike was thought to be dead, but it was revealed to be a trick, to prove to Nick that he would regret causing Mike to get killed. They reset the scene, retying Mike to the chair, sans his prop blood soaked shirt, and putting his gag back in. The Baron arrives, and this time Mike is truly terrified, knowing this is the true cannibal that would kill and eat him if their plan failed. Thankfully, Future Nick, positioned across the street with a sniper, kills The Baron before he can even touch Mike, leaving a bloody splatter across Mike's face.

The Baron did not arrive alone, and his two goons open fire on the room, somehow completely missing the still tied up Mike as Alice desperately tries to untie him. Eventually she just says screw it and pulls him backwards in the chair, knocking him to the floor and safety. The goons throw a grenade into the room, which Mike calls out in alarm through his gag, and Alice is able to grab it in time and throw it back out into the hallway, blowing up the goons, saving Mike.

Mike is freed from his bondage after this and I thought that was it for this film, however, during the end credits there were a couple of deleted scenes and in one of them, when Mike is being told that The Baron likes to take his victims alive, it cuts to a black and white shot of the alternate timeline when Mike died, showing him wrapped up in saran wrap on a kitchen counter, with an apple gag in his mouth.

This was a very delightful bonus shot to get. James Marsden is a wonderful whumpee and I very much enjoy seeing him tied up and gagged.

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice (2026) - Vince Vaughn as Nick & James Marsden as Mike

In this action comedy film, Nick (Vince Vaughn) travels back in time to save his friend, Mike (James Marsden), from being killed. Future Nick tricks Mike into chloroforming Past Nick and they tie him up and put him in the trunk of their car. His hands are kept bound for a while as they are unsure if they can trust him to help, as he was the one who caused everything in the first place (Past Nick discovered Mike was sleeping with his ex, Alice, and told their gang a lie that Mike was a snitch).

Past Nick is released after agreeing to help kill the man that was going to kill Mike, a cannibal assassin named The Baron. The Baron liked to take his victims alive and eat them, much to the horror of Mike. They set up a trap to lure The Baron in and kill him, using Mike as bait. He is tied to a chair and gagged, but when The Baron shows up, Past Nick double crosses the group and reveals their plan to The Baron, resulting in the assassin shooting Mike, killing him on the spot.

Oh, Hi! (2025) - Logan Lerman as Isaac

This romantic comedy is great for bondage fans who love Logan, especially since he spends the majority of this film chained to a bed.

On a romantic weekend away, Iris (Molly Gordon) discovers that her thought-to-be boyfriend, Isaac (Logan Lerman), is not as keen to put an official label on their relationship, wanting to keep things more casual while Iris thinks they're exclusive. This occurs after they have engaged in a kinky fun evening in bed, in which Iris chains Isaac, hand and foot, to the bed. Iris, pissed at how their romantic getaway has turned into an emotional nightmare, decides to punish Isaac by leaving him tied to the bed overnight. While he falls asleep chained to the bed, Iris goes down a rabbit hole spiral as she tries to figure out how to save their relationship. She decides that she will keep Isaac chained to the bed and force him to get to know her more, and thus hopefully causing him to realize she's what he truly wants. Isaac does not want to spend more time with her, especially chained to the bed, but in fear for his life, he goes along with her plan, hoping she would release him as she promised after 12 hours. He is almost released, but snaps too soon on her, calling her crazy and stating she would go to jail for kidnapping him. Instead of releasing him, Iris calls in her bff Max (and subsequently her bf Kenny) to help her get out of this situation. By the time they have arrived, Isaac is now also ball-gagged to keep him silent. The three discuss what to do with Isaac, including the idea of hitting him hard enough to cause amnesia or killing him to keep him silent - both of which Isaac overhears with horror, screaming into his ball-gag. They eventually decide to try giving him a memory potion (courtesy of Max's witch cousin) to make him forget everything that happened. While the girls make the potion, Kenny keeps Isaac company, reading to him and later giving him the "tea" potion. Isaac pretends the potion worked, having overheard their plan through an open window, and is finally released, at which time he finally makes his escape from the house and Iris.

As mentioned, Logan is chained to the bed for the majority of the film, with a lot of struggling moments as he tries to slip his hands out of the cuffs, reach for the keys, and flails around a bit in frustration. The ball-gag scenes are especially delightful as he lets out muffled cries of frustration, fear, and alarm. Logan does a great job acting both afraid and frustrated in this film. He is a very enjoyable whumpee to watch.

Loserville - Luxia

This music video opens with a man, bound and gagged, on his knees in the middle of no where. The singer, Luxia, arrives and kicks him to the ground. She unzips his sweater and writes LOSER across his chest using lipstick before dragging her nails down his chest through the letters. She then puts a sack hood over his head and ties a length of rope around his arms and body, using it as a lead to drag him blindly towards a convertible, where she shoves him into the backseat. The car eventually stalls so she removes his hood and drags him by the rope lead across a deserted, rocky landscape. She leads him into a city of ruins, with sign naming it Loserville with a population of one. She forces him to his knees beside the sign post, where she ties him to one of the poles, facing towards it. She spits on him before walking away, leaving him tied to the sign post, leaving him the population of one for Loserville (which is the main chorus and theme of the song).

This song very much gives the vibes of getting rid of a toxic ex (a complete loser) and sending him off to Loserville where he belongs. I love the fact that the ex is tied up and gagged throughout the whole music video. I was not able to find the name of the guy who played the ex, but whoever you are, we thank you for your service to the whump community with your angst filled eyes and grimaces.

The song was pretty catchy, the whump was great, so 10/10 would recommend checking out this music video!

Snow White (2025) - Andrew Burnap as Jonathan & Ansu Kabia as Huntsman

Part two of our movie recap of the worst remake of Snow White starts off with our favourite bandit whumpee Jonathan getting caught in a net trap by the Queen's guards. He is brought before the Queen with his hands bound behind his back. She toys with him a bit before telling him that he'll never see Snow White again and sends him to the dungeon, where he is shackled and chained to the wall. While in the dungeon, we see our old friend the Huntsman has found himself similarly shackled and chained.

As Snow White eats the poisoned apple from the strange hag (because yeah we would totally trust random food from a stranger), Jonathan tries to pull his chain from the wall, but he is unsuccessful. Until he makes a grand speech and the Huntsman joins him in pulling on the chain and, through this power of friendship, they manage to break the chain from the wall and retrieve the shackle keys which just so happen to be conveniently on the hand of a skeleton a few steps away (I'm sorry but this was the lamest escape I've ever seen and our boy Jonathan did not stay in those shackles nearly long enough to feel any true peril).

Was this movie terrible. Yes. But did it have some good whump moments? Also yes. I love when a man is getting manhandled/dragged around and when they try to struggle or fight back and we do get a fair bit of this in the film. We get a couple of nice tied hands moments, though they happen too quickly for my liking (he was literally tied to the gate for a second (see part one)). Plus the two for one special of being shackled in the dungeon? Chef's kiss. Don't watch this movie for the plot or the acting cause you will be disappointed. But if you have to suffer through watching it, at least you can enjoy a few good whump moments.

Snow White (2025) - Andrew Burnap as Jonathan & Ansu Kabia as Huntsman

For being a terrible remake of the classic Snow White movie, I will give this movie props for giving us some good man-in-distress whump moments. We don't get a prince in this movie, but we do get Jonathan, a bandit rebel who is fighting against the evil queen and the perfect ally for the runaway Snow White. Also perfect for tying or chaining up, which we get to see a few times in this movie.

We first meet Jonathan near the beginning of the movie when he is caught stealing potatoes from the castle. He is manhandled quite nicely by who we later learn is the Huntsman, dragging him by the arm and back of his tunic in to see the Queen to receive his punishment for stealing. The way his arms are behind his back, I believed his hands were bound, but sadly when they turned to leave you could see his hands were free (this could have been an error on their part and I'm choosing to believe that his hands were tied the whole time). He is initially sentenced to the dungeon, but after Snow White tries to intercede, he is instead ordered to be stripped of his coat and shoes and tied up outside to freeze (I feel like more layers could have been removed to make this more effective (and more enjoyable to the eye) but oh well). Snow White later sees him dragged outside and tied to the main gate. She sets him free (way too easily I might add) and he runs off.

Whumpee number two is ironically the Huntsman who, after failing to kill Snow White, is dragged before the Queen and forced to kneel before her. He is manhandled quite nicely in this scene before being taken away to the dungeon (see part 2).

We meet Jonathan again in the woods with his bandit crew, and he ends up taking a crossbow bolt to the shoulder, saving Snow White's life. She takes him back to Doc to get him healed and you can tell he is in a lot of pain, groaning and eventually passing out on the table.

Venus in Fur (play) - Hugh Dancy as Thomas Novachek

Hugh Dancy stars in this two-person play-within-a-play as Thomas Novachek, a writer-director seeking to cast an actress to play the character of Vanda in his play based off the book "Venus in Fur". This book is about a man (Severin) who is infatuated with a woman named Vanda and desires to be her slave and encourages her to treat him in progressively more degrading ways. Enter Vanda Jordan, an actress who Thomas sees potential in for playing the character of Vanda, whom she shares a name with. The two begin to work their way through the script, with Thomas playing the part of Severin. Vanda begins to exert control over Thomas and the lines between reality and fiction begin to blur.

There are a lot of great whump moments in this play, though most of them don't start to happen until the final 20ish minutes of the play. Within this time, we see Wanda grab Thomas by the hair and put a knife to his throat. Thomas is collared and Wanda grabs and twists the collar multiple times to exert control over him. In the final five minutes of the show, Wanda ties Thomas to a post using two sets of stockings, one looped from behind his neck and around his arms behind the post and one wrapped around the post and his chest. Once he is tied to the post, Wanda drops the act and calls Thomas out for putting on such a degrading play. She grabs his face and forces him to look at himself tied up in a mirror. She grabs his throat, slaps his face, and pulls on his collar. Thomas falls to his knees, swearing as he realizes he's gotten himself into quite the predicament. As Vanda dons a fur coat, Thomas demands to know who she is, but she states that Thomas already knows. Thomas then shouts, "Hail Aphrodite!" revealing that Wanda was Aphrodite (aka Venus) all along.

As stated above, there are a lot of great whump moments, especially once Hugh is tied to the post. I love seeing a man tied up and Hugh Dancy tied up is an especially nice treat. The full version of this play currently is available on YouTube on the account of coleslawboy69.

Sixteen Saltines - Jack White - Jack White

Shout out to Anonymous for this recommendation! Though I have no clue what the storyline of this music video by Jack White is, I will admit I did enjoy getting to see the artist tied up in it.

The video opens with Jack sitting in a windowsill, his hands bound in front of him with thick rope and guarded by two white painted men. A blue painted child enters with another coil of rope. This happens within the first 25 seconds of the song. Then we do not see Jack again until the last 35 seconds of the song when we see the two white painted men bike around a car that the blue painted child is standing atop, pouring gasoline over. The camera pans closer and we see Jack in the back seat, hands bound behind his back, his feet also bound and connected by the same rope. He is struggling, fighting to get out of his binds, but it is no use. He eventually slumps down, accepting his fate as the blue painted child drops a lighter onto the car.

While I agree with Anonymous that those last 30 seconds are quite enjoyable to watch, I was disappointed that we didn't get to see more of Jack tied up throughout the music video, rather than just at the beginning and end for brief moments.

Squid Game - S2 E1 "Bread and Lottery" - Kim Pub-Iae as Kim Jeong-rae/Mr. Kim, Jeon Seok-ho as Choi Woo-seok, Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun/Player 456, and Gong Yoo as The Recruiter

Episode Spoilers Ahead.

I recently started watching season two of Squid Game and in the very first episode we see two characters, Mr. Kim and Choi Woo-seok, being knocked out by The Recruiter (played by the amazing Gong Yoo). They awake to find themselves tied to chairs, temporarily blindfolded, and gagged with dog bone gags. They are forced at gunpoint to play a game of Russian Roulette combined with Rock, Paper, Scissors, Minus One, with the loser being the one to take the "shot" to the head. There is a 5 in 6 chance of survival and 1 in 6 chance of death as there is only one bullet in the chamber. After a few rounds back and forth, The Recruiter decides to make it more interesting by reversing the odds (5 bullets in the chamber so 5 in 6 chance of death and 1 in 6 chance of survival). It appears that Woo-seok has lost and is going to be the one shot, but Mr. Kim chooses to disqualify himself, taking the bullet himself to save Woo-seok's life. It is implied that Woo-seok is going to be interrogated by The Recruiter now though it is not seen on screen. We do find The Recruiter in Seong Gi-hun's apartment next (implying that Woo-seok told The Recruiter where to find him) and he is held at gunpoint and forced into a regular version of Russian Roulette. At one point, Gi-hun points the gun at The Recruiter, as he considers whether he should just attempt to shoot him, but Gi-hun wants to get to the Front Man, the one in charge of the games, so he continues to play this twisted game with The Recruiter. The Recruiter ultimately shoots himself with the bullet in the final chamber, which I was a little disappointed by because I love Gong Yoo and was hoping to see more of him in this series, especially with a third season coming soon. I was also hoping that we would have seen Gong Yoo's character captured and tied up at some point as they had been tracking him, because I would have loved to see that man tied up. Unfortunately that was not to be with this show and we have to settle with just him at gunpoint instead. Though I will say that he does play a very fun, twisted whumper in this episode.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999) - Donny Osmond as Joseph

In this film adaptation of the hit Lloyd-Weber stage musical, we see the Old Testament story of Jacob's favourite son, Joseph (portrayed by Donny Osmond), who was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery.

Joseph's eleven brothers are jealous of him and plot to get rid of him, initially by throwing him in a pit and intending to leave him to die, but at the last minute, they decide to sell him to some passing Ishmaelites, with his hands being bound with rope as he is forced into slavery. Later, Joseph finds himself being thrown in jail, locked up in a cell, even though he is innocent. He helps interpret the dreams of his fellow inmates, which later comes back to help him as he is referred to Pharaoh to help interpret the Egyptian King's dreams. He is brought before Pharaoh in shackles, but is eventually freed and given a place of power in Egypt. I like how Osmond rubs his wrists after having the shackles removed, as if they had been chaffing him for a long time and he was finally free of them.

As mentioned, this was originally a stage musical, so I also wanted to give a shout out to the onstage bondage moments that this musical provides. Here's a couple of versions I found that I enjoyed.

CCHS Production of Joseph (2014) - Patrick Zimmerman as Joseph

Joseph + the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Perry Ryan Theatre Company (2024)

I especially loved in this version how much Joseph was manhandled, pinned to the ground with his hair being pulled to lift his head up. I'm always a sucker for a good hair pulling.

This musical is relevant for me right now because I'm actually involved in a local production of it (hence why I haven't been as actively posting recently due to being busy with work and rehearsals) and I am thrilled to announce that I get to play one of the Ishmaelites that buys Joseph. I've very much so enjoyed getting a front row seat to the onstage bondage in this scene.

Holiday in Handcuffs (2006) - Mario Lopez as David Martin

Merry Christmas! Apologies for not posting in a while, but here is your present because you have been so patient and good waiting for my next post!

This holiday tv movie stars Melissa Joan Hart as down on her luck artist, Trudie Chandler, who impulsively kidnaps a customer from her restaurant job, David Martin, played by Mario Lopez, to take home as her "boyfriend" for the holidays after her real boyfriend Nick dumps her. Not wanting to be the family disappointment again when she shows up with no boyfriend in tow, Trudie pulls a gun on the charming David, deciding that he will make a perfect fill in for her now ex, and leads him out back to her car, where he slips on ice and promptly knocks himself out. When he comes to later, he finds himself blindfolded and hands tied with pantyhose (which are more durable than one might think) to the top of the car door. He comments on the fact that as a man, he would be able to overpower her eventually, to which she pulls the gun on him again. He scoffs that she wouldn't actually shoot him, just in time for Trudie to almost hit a skunk on the road, swerving in time but causing the gun to go off, right on the seat between his legs.

On route to her parents cabin, Trudie has to stop for gas, where she almost gets caught, but plays it off as her taking her boyfriend for a wild time in the woods. The gas station attendant then gives her a pair of fluffy handcuffs so the two could enjoy themselves more, allowing Trudie to upgrade David's restraints. When they arrive at the cabin, Trudie unfortunately releases David from the handcuffs and that is pretty much it for his bondage in the movie. There is a brief scene later when he is in the car with her dad and tries to take over the wheel (in an attempt to escape), but her dad thinks it's him being overwhelmed by commitment and puts him in a headlock until David calms down.

For being a movie called "Holiday in Handcuffs", there is actually not a lot of time spent in said handcuffs, and I wish we could have seen more bondage, maybe David being handcuffed to the bed at night so he couldn't escape, but the film used the excuse of them being miles away from anyone else as a way to explain why he can't just run away and doesn't need to be tied up at night. Pity. The little bits of bondage we do get are fun though, as you do get to see him panicked while tied up in the car.

Dead 2 Me - Emily Vaughn - Reese as the ex-bf

Love is not in the air in this break-up anthem of a song by this Nashville-based artist as the singer catches her boyfriend in bed with someone else, leading her to sing about how he is now "dead to me". Emily and her girls kidnap her now ex (played by a guy named Reese (found under the Instagram handle of reesedollasign)) which is not seen, but it is implied he was brought to some kind of warehouse in the trunk of a car. He is blindfolded through most of the video and tied to a chair with rope. Emily toys with him, teasing the use of a can of gasoline and a crowbar to torture him. His face and hair are both grabbed at various points throughout the video, and at one point, Emily wraps a length of rope around his neck and strangles him a bit in a couple different shots. The music video ends from the point of view of the ex from within the trunk of the car as the girls wave goodbye and close the trunk.

Once Upon A Time - S2 E20 "The Evil Queen" - Colin O'Donoghue as Captain Killian "Hook" Jones

Where episode 19 ended with Hook bound and gagged in the back of a trailer, episode 20 starts with a hooded Hook, who very sassily comments that he prefers "it with the lights on", before the hood is ripped off his head, revealing that he is now bound to a chair in the top of the clock tower. It is here that Greg and Tamara reveal to Hook that his revenge attempt at killing the Dark One, Rumplestiltskin, failed, but if he were to join them, they would help him to rid the world of the Dark One forever. We get a lot of sassy/sarcastic Hook moments during this scene, as Hook openly mocks his captors, but we also get a lot of frustrated, angry moments after he realizes that the Dark One is still alive. It's a rollercoaster of emotions for him.

Later, Hook teams up with Regina to help her retrieve a "fail-safe trigger" that could wipe out Storybrooke, but she betrays him, pushing him off a cliff and leaving him to be a distraction/sacrifice to a wraith-like Maleficent who cannot be killed. There are some great pained shots of Hook as he recovers and stands up from his fall off the cliff, as well as a very worried look when he realizes that Maleficent can regenerate after he "defeated" her.
