Second Chances

❤ He couldn't recall the last time, he had remotely considered Valentine's Day a thing. Had it been before his split from ex-wife? He shook off the thought, holding roses in hand. "Hi...I know matters haven't been helping things and all," he said, stumbling like an idiot. "Just thought I would maybe step up to the plate and give things a shot. If you're interested in that sort of thing. Symbiote and all..."
Wanda’s eyes go wide, and she finds herself smiling. It’s the first genuine smile she remembers having in quite some time, and she reaches out to take the roses from his hands, her nose wrinkling a little as she leans in to smell them. “They’re beautiful, thank you.” She steps a little closer, leaning up to press a quick kiss to his cheek “I’d have to say that I’m definitely interested in at least giving it a shot.” A short nod and she’s leaning against him, her arm linking with his. “But I think that depends on what you have in mind, Mister Brock.”

He nodded gently. “It’s my pleasure,” he said, linking his arm in kind. “Don’t particularly know.. It’s been a while since I’ve tried the whole dating thing.” Why was he stumbling like a fool? He had some control over the symbiote. Fighting it’s need to feed. Devour was an uphill battle.
He took the moment to just look into her eyes. Taking her in fully. “Don’t know where I’m going to end up next week. Hell, I barely know where I’m going these days. Just know that’s been peaceful being in your company. Even if there’s no way of ridding myself of...”
We are one! You and I! Bonded, yes, but you’re not fully playing by my rules.
“I’m amazed you’re willing to give me a chance. With you being an Avenger and all that.” He didn’t exactly stand by any side in general. He did his best to stop threats as he saw fit, yet, the symbiote kept him on edge. Never knowing if he would devour a person, without a second thought.
