Pilot Wraith
Name: Jana Elisabeth von WeberÂ
Age: 27
Pre-war profession: Barista
War-time progression: evac->grunt->officer->pilot
Bio: Jana was a kind person, even before the war. Sheâd make friends wherever she went, and had a few enemies during her time as a âmeatsackâ. She never really got close enough with anyone for a date though. But when the war erupted, she had to evacuate her home on Myreal, and was later sent to a IMC facility to be ârehabilitatedâ. There, she first became a grunt, but was found odd as she couldnât kill militia grunts, using instead non-lethal ways of ending firefights. This was overlooked by her superiors, however, as they could get more POWs this way. Soon, after knocking out a Militia messenger, she was promoted to the rank of captain.
Her unit would however mock her of her kindness, but some grunts would obey her orders to the letter, saying they felt kin with her ideas. This wasnât seen as good behavior, so the little that remained loyal to her were sent with her to what was supposed to be a simple âtag and grabâ mission. However they were met with tremendous resistance, and as her men fell alongside her, she grew desperate. In the end, she ended up alone, having to dig through body upon body to get out. But she wouldnât be evacuated, and was instead âleft for deadâ by her superiors. She would have to find her own way out of the Militia controlled system.
Then she would end toe-to-toe with another grunt, from the militia side. Both were hesitant to shoot, oddly enough, but the stand-off would come to a gruesome end. A nearby Militia pilot saw the two, and ran to help the grunt who they thought was in danger of being shot, and in their Titan, decided to go the only way they knew. The sadistic way. After a mess, Jana would find herself waking up in a Militia hospital- and much to her horror, she had become a simulacrum. They had to sedate her time and time again, until she finally became docile. Then they told her what had happened while she was unconscious.
The grunt had gone between the Titan and the dying Jana, and told them to help her. Why they had agreed, no one knows for certain. But to honor the grunt- her newfound friend in the Militia- she decided to help them by giving out intel on her superiors. After this, she received pilot training, and got assigned her Titan- a captured Northstar chassis, but with slight modifications to the OS. They inserted their own AI to replace the IMC one, and it came to call itself Eerie. Eerie and Jana would become a fearsome duo, engaging targets with ease from such distance that the opposing pilots would have trouble locating her. And even if they did, the now-Militia Jana would give them a choice- surrender, or die.
Even with such ferocity, she would still âcryâ each night, feeling the weight of her actions upon her shoulders. Eerie would comfort her to the best of her abilities, but the most help was from the unexpected- the Militia grunt who had saved her, who Jana would lovingly call Jackal.
