the piece he’s playing as i said at the top is reverie by composer claude debussy NOW BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING YES I KNOW THIS SONG WAS COMPOSED IN 1890. so genuinely RIGHT as the race is happening. but lets imagine, for the sake of me really really wanting johnny to play this song, that it actually came to england in like 1877 when he started taking his rich kid lessons. please. for me 💔 i kinda wrote it into the comic but its one of my favorite pieces of music ever…tho i do not play piano so apologies if the piano playing panels look inaccurate.

i feel like some of the gyro panels look dumb but hes dumb anyway so. lets just stick with the dead wife agenda. also did i draw a single background? no. and i feel so free. also johnny pink wheelchair mention 💔i miss her

IT’S FINALLY HERE I CAN SHARE THIS COMIC NOW TOTTTT

This comic was made for the @hetalia-20-anniversary-zine hosted by @lyresbird, featuring Kuya Piri and my really old Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao ocs, who were made WAY before Piri’s debut 😅 (the oldest proof I have afaik is this video I made back in highschool lmao)

Hetalia as a series and a fandom has been a very big influence in my life, and what better way to celebrate its 20 year anniversary by making a comic based on my experience visiting Intramuros for the first time as someone who, before moving to Metro Manila for university, had only heard about it through books and pictures on the web.

I’m really thankful for the opportunity, and I wish for everyone to check out the zine! :DDD

My two pieces for the @hetalia-20-anniversary-zine! It was fun to take part, though I wish I had done something more romantic, TBH I still think it's cute! I wanted to add even more details to the first piece but I just ran out of time lol. Though I loved the details of adding the nation discord universe, wish i would have come up with actual names for them all but its more funny to wonder who's keeping up their wordle streak in the group chat.

Anyway! I will show off all the ships that are behind Kiku teehee!

Happy Hetalia 20th Anniversary!! 🫶

Here's my piece for the @hetalia-20-anniversary-zine, featuring my favourite country in real life (Scotland) and in Hetalia (Norway), along with my favourite ship (ScotNor)💕 Some of my best memories of living in Scotland were going to the ceilidhs, traditional Scottish and Irish social gatherings that usually involve a lot of dancing! Even as a newcomer, I remember being quickly welcomed into the dances, and having an absolute blast whirling around with my friends for hours until we were all sore and out of breath 😆 In my piece, I tried to capture the warmth, energy, and joy from these dances! 💃🕺More details under the cut~

Fun facts!

Scotland is wearing a formal Prince Charlie kilt outfit without the outer jacket

Scotland's kilt itself is based on the Scottish National Tartan

Norway is wearing a bunad, though it might not be as obvious from this back view ^^"

The four-piece band on the stage is the rest of the UK bros (Northern Ireland, England, Ireland, and Wales!)

The dancers in the background are my OCs (Robbie, Serafina, Isla, Rion, and Michele!)

The background is inspired by the Teviot Debating Hall, where I attended many a ceilidh while going to uni there

Now that I've moved away, I miss Scotland dearly. But I often try to capture my memories in my art, so I'm very glad I had the opportunity to draw this piece! Hetalia was also one of my earliest big fandoms and an important part of my life as a teen, inspiring my writing, art, cosplay, and love of history. I even met some of my now-closest real-life friends through this fandom! While I know the series isn't perfect, I'm still glad it exists. ^^ So a very big thank you to Himaruya for your hard work! And thank you so much @lyresbird, the rest of the mod team, and all the lovely contributors!
