For everyone who needs to calm down after the first chapter of Naruto Gaiden
Seriously. Calm down. In the following I’ll tell you why everything is okay the way it is and why there is absolutely no reason for you to be worried about something.
Let’s start with Sasuke.
Yes, he is a douchebag. Undoubtedly. But is that really something special? He was a douchebag right from right zero hour and it would be totally out of character for him to become altruistic suddenly. He just cares for himself and even when he does something for other people he still cares for himself most. That’s a wicked part of his character nothing will erase. Not even love. Because that’s how he is. Sometimes love doesn’t make a person better but is the best part about someone. I feel so bad for the exhausted Sakura and the lonely Sarada full of doubts. Of course it would be better if Sasuke were with them. But, and here comes my first point:
(1) We know nothing about Sasuke’s mission.
Sakura knows which mission he has. She said “He will come home soon” and that means they had contact or Sakura was aware of the fact how long it will take from the beginning. She understood him. She let him go. And if it weren’t important, Naruto or Kakashi would have beaten Sasuke already up for leaving Sakura and Sarada. If the mission was something which serves the protection of his small family, then Sasuke would definitely consider the importance of their safety higher than the benefit of his attendance. He doesn’t see himself as a nice human being and a suitable father after all he has done and all the hate he felt, that’s why he is the type of father who thinks that his family is better off without him and that the best opportunity to care of them is to create a peaceful world they can live in. Yep, that’s quite twisted, but I do not believe that Sasuke holds himself in high esteem when it comes to being a father and having skills to deal with children. He may know what it’s like to be lonely when the family isn’t there but it’s possible that he doesn’t see himself as someone who can fill this hole for others. He could think that the loving and caring Sakura is enough for Sarada and he would make it worse instead of better for her.
(2) Possibly Sasuke holds the opinion that his presence does more damage than it helps since he is not the tender, endearing type of person who is able to express his feelings. Maybe he thinks that Sarada is better off with Sakura as the only one who rears her since Sakura is exactly this type.
Now to Sakura.
I want to begin with a very important quote which will destroy any assumptions that Sakura will stay unhappy for much longer.
「確かにサスケの方が気になりますよね。いろいろ、考えますね」 “Certainly, (people) are interested in Sasuke’s side, right? (I’ll be) considering various things" 「サクラには幸せになってほしいです。ツラいことばかり描いてきたので」 “I want for Sakura to be happy, since I have only been depicting unpleasant things (for her).“ [Source: http://www.reddit.com/r/Naruto/comments/2s7g3b/megathread_compiled_list_of_translated_kishimoto/cnnnyy1]
(3) Kishimoto wants Sakura to be happy. He wants to show how the relationship between Sakura and Sasuke develops.
And what is the better opportunity to do so but to show a conflict and its settlement? A situation which forces Sasuke to prove how much he loves her and Sarada, although he had to leave them? A situation which forces him to show his feelings because he notices how much his behavior gets misinterpreted? And that situation will come soon.
That leads to possible scenarios for the upcoming chapters:
(4) Sarada will confront her father about her assumption that Karin may be his mother since she has never seen her parents together. Sasuke will be horrified and has to take that doubt away.
(5) Sasuke comes home, sees the destroyed house and panics, since he thinks that someone attacked Sarada and Sakura. He will rush to find them.
(6) Sasuke will be at the exhausted Sakura’s side when she wakes up. He will be worried her and doubting that his absence did any good. He will regret.
I am certainly excited to see in which way Sasuke would try to convince Sarada that her mother Sakura is the only one for him. It will be his duty. And I am as excited to see his reaction when he understands that Sakura had bad times while he was away. Oh, that look of regret on his face…
And some other minor points:
(7) Sakura lived with Sarada in some kind of Uchiha mansion. Sasuke values the name of the Uchiha very much. Would he let Sakura use it when she isn’t important to him? Of course not. In fact, she is his Uchiha-substitute in Konoha while he is away.
(8) Naruto Gaiden seems to take place between Chapter 700 and the upcoming Boruto Movie in summer. The possibility is high that Sasuke will stay in the village after coming home, since he seems to become Boruto’s (and Sarada’s?) Sensei in some way.
(9) Does anybody really think that Kishimoto prefers Karin to become happy (by being at Sasuke’s side) instead of Sakura, the girl he cherished from the beginning? Absolutely not. Looks like Karin is again a tool – this time to strengthen the bond between Sasuke, Sakura and Sarada as a trigger for clarifying Sasuke’s feelings towards his little family.
(10) The focus of the first chapter of “Naruto Gaiden” laid on Sasuke’s family. Coincidence? I think not. We will get much more. And we will get the promised development of Sasuke’s feelings/their relationship.
So, don’t worry, people! Kishimoto already said that he wants Sakura to be happy and her happiness depends on Sasuke – everything will be alright! :) You need to know shadow to value light. The same goes for the relationship of the Uchiha family!
P.S.: Please, do not start insulting KIshimoto already after the first chapter. That is the only thing disgusting here. You are no better than all the NaruSaku-Fans / SasuKarin-Fans who insulted him based on Chapter 699/700. Let’s wait for the other chapters.
