Hey fellow foxes! I made a list of some awesome video games that I think y'all would love! (Including myself)

First up we have The First Tree! (Pun not intended). This is a game where you play as a mother fox exploring and looking for her family. Along the way, your story gets entwined with a boy in the form of memory fragments as you make your way to the tree. Great game!

Next we have Seasons After Fall. This is a GORGEOUS game. You play as a fox gifted with the power to change the seasons. This is a puzzle game but it's totally worth it!

Now we have Spirit of the North. This...this game. It's probably my most favorite. The graphics are AMAZING. The fox you play as follows around the spirit of the north which happens to be a spirit fox. There's a huge story not in the form of words, and there's a huge world to explore. It's another puzzel game, but again it's definitely worth a play. 110% recommend.

Meadow. This is a beautiful open world game with a very unique style. You start out as a badger, but as you play and unlock animals by breaking open obelisks, eventually you'll get the fox! There's no chat, and you and other players communicate with symbols, sounds, and emotes. There's SO much to explore and so many collectables and hidden places. You can also unlock skins!

Wildcraft. This final game on our list is an app game. You start out as a wolf but you can unlock the fox (fully customizable) by saving up gems or from chests. It's open world and standard kill other things to level up. You can eat the things you kill, and even bring smaller prey back to your kit once you have one. It's a great little game with multiplayer as well!

Some fox scenarios~~(I don't really have an exact idea what I'm doing, but I'm doin)

1. It's nighttime. You slink around the forest floor, eyes well adjusted to the darkness. Crickets, whip-poor-wills, and frogs are all making their nightly noises. There isn't much of a breeze down here but the air is cool, so it doesn't feel stuffy. Eventually you stop on a hill top clearing, the night sky unfolding all around you. The large expanse of black is littered with stars, and the half moon floats lazily above. You sit down, snout pointed skywards, the breeze ruffling your fur. You gaze at the wonderful sight, losing yourself in the beauty of it, just for a moment.

(I think I might do these daily, mostly because it's fun and just a tad feelsy)

fox flares is a cute little browser game about a spontaneously combusting fox. your job is to reach water within the time limit to cool down! it’s only in a game jam build for now, but worth checking out!!

pajuu is a game about a young fox and his mother. it has a very sweet soundtrack and wonderful art, though it may not be best for you if you don’t want some sad feelings. it’s on browser, as well as downloadable for mac, linux and windows!

i took a long nap today. my bed is warm, it reminds me of my den. i get to curl up, wrapped in blankets, reminding me of my makeshift nest in my den and my thick pelt.

i woke up and put some pop tarts in the toaster. i'm not happy with this. im not satisfied. i want to be myself again, hunting, crouched against the ground as i smell the warm scents of the forest.

when i focus, my ears are in their familiar place. they itch.

my tail can be felt too, swishing around. my phantom ears and tail are an extension of my body, feeling as comfortable there as my arms and legs do. but theyre not here.

i miss my fox body. i miss the forest. i miss freedom.

hi! im bones, im a cross fox kintype, and i have been eyeing the otherkin community for a while but ive been too scared to try joining it. im 18, trans, and neurodivergent. i love animals and nature. hit me up if you wanna chat, ill try to stay active!!!

im foggy on the details of my past life, but i believe i looked like this-

i was thin and agile with long legs. i had amber eyes. my fur was your classic cross fox color- the fur on the top of my head and back was orange, while my ears, muzzle, legs, and parts of my body were black and silver. i lived in the forest, and was completely wild and free. i believe i lived in northern canada somewhere.

my territory looked something like that- a lot of moss and rocks and dark trees.

Hi~ this blog is really cool!! Can you find a game or two that has foxes as characters? Red foxes preferred, but pretty much anything will do~ preferably protagonists or sidekicks, and a decent/low price? Thank you!!

of course!! 

seasons after fall is a little on the expensive end at $15, but i couldnt not add it with how gorgeous the graphics are. you play as a little fox on a journey through the forest, armed only with the magic to change the seasons at your will. it reminds me of ori and the blind forest a lot! find it on steam for windows!

foxfolk is a lot more affordable, at a minimum of $3 on itch.io! you play as a gray fox who must hunt and provide for it’s family as the harsh winter sets in. it has simple pixel graphics, but it looks really fun! you can get it on windows!

finally, i had to add in an old favorite flash game, william and sly. its a little nostalgic for me! it’s an exploration platformer where you play as sly, a fox off on a mission for fairies (and tasty mushrooms)! the nice thing about it being a flash game is that its free, and it happens to have a sequel!

Things that make me feel foxy 🦊

By which I mean, like a fox

Making a nest: curling up with a duvet, blankets, cushions, cuddly toys, anything soft that you can bury in

Sitting with my legs tucked underneath me

Chewing on things - this is also an autistic stim so I use stim toys but it also gives me many kin feels. Food like corn on the cob is good for this.

When my partner scritches where my phantom ears are 💖

Covering my hands with my hoodie/jumper

Looking at pictures and videos of forests, hills, rocky places - the sorts of places I ran around and lived in my past life. Close my eyes and I’m there again

Natural, woody scents - candles and bath bombs yeeeee

Yipping and barking - I’m autistic w an autistic partner so this is v stimmy for us

-build a blanket fort den. fill it will pillows and other nice things like plush toys if you have any. it will be a safe spot to curl up in when you’re feeling overwhelmed and the activity of building one will help keep your mind occupied

- nature scented incense or candles. there are candles and things that smell like pine needles which might make you feel like you’re at home in a forest

- get a fox stuffed animal. toys provide one with something to cuddle, hug, and pet. tactile things like this are really good for self care

- if it’s for a self care box, always have water and a treat of some kind. both are important to have available so I will keep mentioning them.

- there are some games online that you can play as a fox. I recommend finding one or two that you like and bookmarking them so that you can quickly get to them

- soothing music. I don;t know of any songs that feature foxes but any sort of peaceful music is a good idea for self care. (unless you’re like me and prefer loud,angry music. If so, have that on hand instead.)

- print out some stories about foxes. there are tons of myths and older tales concerning foxes as tricksters and plenty have happy endings for the fox. they might be good to read and cheer yourself up with.

- honestly, try to find someone to play with or to cuddle up to. Social interactions are is good for anyone feeling down, but foxes can be quite social and affectionate animals so it might feel especially helpful to you.

- Look for a good documentary to watch on foxes. It can help you feel more connected to your kintype and documentaries tend to have really pretty scenes to help distract you. Depending, watching Disney’s Robin Hood and/or Fox and the Hound might also be good ideas.

- having a notebook or something to draw or write in. it’s just a good thing to have for any sort of self care. If you can find a cute notebook with a fox picture on it, even better.

Guys! I just experienced my first...ear phantom shift. It sounds weird even when I say it lol. But anyway, for me it increased my validity as a foxkin more (even though you definitely don't have to have shifts of any kind to be valid) bc they were definitely shaped like a fox's. I couldn't move them, but I sure as hell felt them. Exciting stuff :)
