Spoilers for this old book ig, but honestly it's so funny that this guy ended up being the traitor LMAO... I already thought it was funny that they put this character sprite in the "good guy" coven, and when I first saw him I was like.... Aren't you that frat guy that almost burned us alive in The Freshman Series?? Turns out he hasn't escaped the pb type casting, after all lol

god its so constantly unseriously funny how tyril is always put in Situations. in book 1 all the other LIs teach MC an elite skill in normal situations meanwhile tyril will teach mc a skill while he is actively dying in the dingiest crustiest corridor known to man. now in book 2 you get a glimpse of the cast and its like. imtura is drinking. mal is probably robbing someone as usual. nia is saying her evening prayers. and mr all mighty tyril of house starfury is about to die alone facing off a mystical creature single mother

Finally getting thru Immortal Desires after all this time, Knowing that 2 is coming, and I gotta say I like it more than I thought! I know it was the hot topic book coming out back when I took a break from the app but it really is pretty good

The only thing I have trouble with as we get deeper into the plot is how hard we hit the Poor Victim Vampires drum lol, like... They love to murder humans, they don't kill the ones in This City but we know they'll just kill a hiker by accident and go 'oopsie! Ain't I a stinker!' and they've been threatening the life of MC and their mother since the drop, I understand the narrative of underdogs against a force that's hunting them but sometimes I'm like "most of y'all love murdering human people and think they're like animals, even members of the 'good ' coven, is it so crazy that it would turn the other way? When this started it was probably self preservation? Since you guys kill people?" Tho I can digress that it turned into torturing fish in a barrel when they couldn't really fight back. Are vampires killers, or aren't they, ID?

That, and the really awkward handwave of "oh we aren't colonizers, we found an EMPTY place to settle in the Americas, but the vampire hunters are the evil colonizers!!", I wish they just had conspicuously not mentioned it, or not acted like MC is dumb for pointing out how towns like this were founded by colonizers, bc pilgrims were also famously fleeing persecution and were still colonizers at the same time lol

My only other main nitpick about this book is that it's a high school book when it really doesn't feel like it, I think they could have been moving here to send MC to University and still had a storyline where they lived with their mother, honestly, bc it's hard to take the stakes seriously when it's also like "let's play hooky from making kid signs with markers" and "I can't believe it.... MC is grounded, a fate worse than death..." And then still have charged, intimate scenes with these characters

Other than that love it, and I just pretend they're in college to get thru it! Also love the fact that you can just keep flirting with Cas and Gabe, and the narrative let's you keep stringing it along, I just played the "there was only one sleeping bag" scene and they were wild for that, and for the 'show me what the biting ritual is like, both of you ' scene LMAO

I wonder, if you strongly favor one LI and don't pick romantic interactions with the others, does MC still agonize over leading them both on, a la MFTL?

Whatever the case, I'm def in the camp of hoping for polyamory bc I picked the fem sprites for both of them and like them both a lot LMAO

I never actually finished blades, once I fell behind the chapter releases back then. As a free to play bitch, I had too much anxiety about collections and xp and important info/opportunities being hidden behind diamonds, and just not feeling like I would have enough.

I've come back though, and they're pouring out buckets of freebie diamonds a day and EVERYONE is talking about the sequel, so maybe I should finally play it LMAO, especially since I have more than 2 keys as well

Just wondering... Do you get locked in with a primary romance, can you really romance them all, or can you have a primary romance and flings with the others? Just asking for a friend 😳

Ftr, I'm still keeping mostly to Artura... I've slipped and flirted w Lancelot just a couple of times, testing the waters, but haven't kissed either of them yet. I'd say MC is wanting to make things work with her betrothed, and that narratively I'm open to being swept off my feet either way 🤞

They're both charming, but I'm excited to see their bonds grow bc I WANT to be tempted, I WANT to have stronger feelings one way or the other, which is a good sign. It's so nice to see characters actually building a relationship with the MC for once, instead of reading "the passion was so hot we felt heated passion" over and over again lol

I might even save up diamonds and replay, to know them more, bc I think I would find the characters more compelling and feel like it might be worth the 💎💎💎 this time around

Am I crazy or is the kindred cover a complete rip of the Charmed set? Didn't they already get burned tracing that cowboy romance novel cover for big sky country, a few years back? And that was a lot lower profile of a source.

Plus I never said anything but I swear they traced resources for TRM, too, I was doing art for a personal masquerade themed project a bit before that book came out and recognized masks pulled straight from Google search when I was researching lol, like you could overlay them almost 1x1...

Art team I know y'all work hard but u can't assume ppl won't notice?

I'm very surprised that it's such an obvious take on the Charmed reboot that just went off the air, so hopefully it's just openly an homage and not a paper thin copy literally called Kindred, considering the Charmed Ones being family is the whole point and it even looks like their mom on the cover

The funny thing is, the high pony on the GG cover isn't even a hair option in the book!!

WHAT, I'm so sick of the ponytail but come ON, I thought it was really lame that she didn't get a bespoke cover hairstyle like the MCs usually get, since it would have been a nice chance to showcase a premium black hair option, but also to not even offer the lazy pick that they DID put on the cover??

Please tell me there's at least more than 1.5 curl option, if they didn't put the stock black ponytail in 😩

Well I'm starting Guinevere and... The first hard choice I'm coming up against is just picking what Arthur and Lancelot I want!!!

I'm having a very difficult, bisexual time...

It's so real, like, I picked masc Arthur at first, since it made sense, but the whole time I couldn't stop thinking about the femme option, so I pretty much decided I would restart and change, depending on the Lancelot options-

But then ALL THE LANCELOT OPTIONS are SO MY TYPE... Except that if I go back to choose a Queen, I would feel too guilty to cheat on her, ESPECIALLY if I choose a masc Lancelot!! But what if I fall in love RIP I'm so torn!
