Rubycrystal call-out Doc (+ a personal rant)

Hi hi! I’ve finally gotten permission to post the doc publicly, so here it is! It will also be on my BlueSky. There’s also a rant, as I feel like, if I’m going to rant about personal things with her in detail, it’s going to be on a personal Tumblr where I don’t really care who sees a personal rant on a personal blog-type site

The doc will go over points such as her history of scamming, as well as her uses of AI. Anything below that is a TLDR about the doc, and also the rant from me. The rant is personal, so, while there might be screenshots, don’t take what I say as fact or as anything to actually add to the call-out. I just have my own frustrations and personal stuff.

DO NOT USE THIS TO HARASS RUBY OR ANYONE INVOLVED!!! She has already been called out plenty by the people in her server, all the public posting is intended to do is to add some slight public pressure to make her apologise publicly and make it clear what she has done, make it more clear to her that people care about this and that she needs to change the way she acts, and to show that she can’t just vaguely explain everything that happened like last time, as the truth will always come out.

It’s also to warn people of a scammer and AI artist so that you steer clear of her until she has shown good sign of improvement in the future, otherwise you will end up like 7 other people

Hello! This is Lovely speaking. Please be wary of an artist by the name of Ruby Crystal (Ruby15615)! They have repeatedly been spotted claim

TLDR for the doc: Rubycrystal, the project lead of an audio drama I used to work in, MLP: Sparks of Unity, has a history of scamming at least 6 people, some of those people being guilted by Ruby into commissioning her multiple times, and, as such, being scammed multiple times. She owes more than $100 to all 6 people total. She has also had a history of using AI art which, while I was originally under the impression that all uses of AI were NOT generated by herself, I now have doubts. Please actually read the doc, or at least look at the screenshots, before you blindly believe me or anyone else. I trust the sources and the people who talk to me, but you probably don’t!

Because of all this, I will not be giving Ruby the parts she doesn’t have, and I will instead be posting them here and maybe on my TikTok, so that way they’re not going to waste.

As someone who was brought into Sparks by Ruby, and with that being the first ever project I’ve joined, I’ll always be at least a little grateful to her for how she helped me get into more projects, and it means I’ve also met people that I’ve gotten close with, and even more people that I WANT to be close with (but I still get pretty awkward with people lol), but that also means that me being grateful to her hits a little harder, as, along with joining my first project because of her, I’ll also be leaving the first ever project I joined because of her. I would wish to have left the project earlier, but the justice demanding part of my brain also means that, in a weird way, I’m also glad I didn’t, as I can’t stand knowing I worked with a scammer who’s possibly generated AI art, and who has confirmed put another artist’s work through AI, without calling them out and knowing all the details.

I want to see Ruby improve, I truly do, I don’t hate her, but it’s going to take a lot of effort and time for her to do that, and we need to actually be able to see it, as she’s ruined a lot of relationships and burned a lot of bridges, maybe without her even truly realising (until now anyway) that they’re burned, some relationships even before they could have started! I have a close friend who knows people who had never actually met Ruby before, but who had a negative opinion of her and who considered her to have a bad reputation.

When I first met Ruby, she contacted me on TikTok, and, admittedly, I remember thinking of what to reply with and almost asking for payment, before just deciding to agree. I was going through a lot at the time with my emotionally abusive family, who were going to go to Australia while I stayed behind, and I was on the verge of moving out to live on my own which caused even more stress because of financial issues from being so unprepared, so, safe to say, all throughout the project I was going through stuff, but, despite that, I didn’t regret joining. I met people, made a few friends, and it really helped with my confidence when it came to joining other projects. I also learned about Casting Call Club, which, omg, is SO helpful for getting paid and deferred artist roles. So, as I’ve said, I’ll always be thankful to Ruby and Sparks.

However, the longer I stayed in the project, and the more I learned about Ruby, the worse things got. Even if I didn’t hear things about her from the closest friend I made in that project, I think this would have happened anyway with me leaving the project, it’s just now I have moral reasons to do so instead of just personal reasons. Even without the scamming and the AI, I started to develop a frustration with a few things.

First of all, she allowed one of the VAs to vent almost CONSTANTLY. Every time they spoke in the server, all I saw from them were vents, without spoilers or TWs, with no confrontation about them breaking the rules or potentially making people uncomfortable, it was exhausting and frustrating and, now this is ALL against the person who vented, but I seriously did not want to be friends with them, and it made the idea of talking in the general chat even worse for me, and I’m socially anxious enough as it is!

Second of all, the writing. Now, there are things I LOVED about being asked to do writing. I felt so much more involved with the project, I contributed actually a good deal to the future plotline, ESPECIALLY with Dissonance as I was one of two major designers behind her, I contributed most of my writing to her, and I even gave a second opinion when her VA was being found (btw, Jyay, the one who voices her, is so fucking sweet and cool, I was in VC with them twice and they’re so fun, “pwincess” became a vocal stim in those VCs) AND, sometimes I could do script readings with Ruby and someone I was and still am really close with. However, I will say… I disliked the actual writing style of the show. From some strange quotes to the errors in the show, as someone who TRIES to keep timelines and stuff as correct as possible, it really frustrated me, but at the same time I felt like it would have been odd for me to act like a big-shot or know-it-all correcting everything in a project that’s not mine, so I corrected only a little, and, following the last point, I was worried about feeling even more like I was being depended on.

Firstly, the overall timeline. Now, the oldest main protagonist is Dark Apple, at 14 and a half years old, and the youngest is Melody at 8, and Pumpkin and Pound Cake, babies in the show, are using adult model rigs. Following that, there has to be a time jump of at the absolute LEAST 15 years. And I say 15 as Whirlwind is also 14 and, obviously, you don’t have a kid immediately, it takes most of a year to have one, and that’s ignoring all the trying, and plus the parents maybe wanting to live their lives a bit first. So far, this makes sense. UNTIL, we get to the spoilers.

Melody is the daughter of Sombra and Chrysalis (who, btw, Chrysalis DOES NOT like umbrum, as, if they were allowed to run wild, it would make Equestria unsuitable for changelings to live in, especially if she’s assuming the Umbrum army are going to do what Sombra did to the Crystal Empire), and THAT can’t happen because SOMBRA AND CHRYSALIS ARE BOTH INACTIVE BY THAT POINT. The only explanation for that COULD be “Melody was born in an egg and that hatched YEARS later”, HOWEVER, YEARS of living in an egg, unattended to? She could easily have died to the cold, being eaten, being crushed, etc. and if she DID have a caretaker, why would said caretaker let her go out into a blizzard for her to be found by the mane 6?

And it gets worse the more when you get to Dissonance. I helped to write Dissonance but I don’t take any responsibility for the mistakes made about her LOL. She’s 14. Okay? That’s completely fine. HOWEVER, she KNEW Cozy Glow and was friends with her, which, again, can’t happen if we’re assuming the last episode of the main show happened 15 years ago AT THE LEAST. Now, I helped to design Dissonance with another artist who I won’t name, especially since they left the project (love their fucking art btw, holy fucking shit, I do actually wanna be friends with them so bad, this is not to shade them at all as they weren’t in the call when it was happening and was likely not paying any attention to the timeline, which is very understandable) and, her being friends with Cozy was NOT my idea for Dissonance as I was aware of the timeline, but it was the other artist’s idea, and Ruby somewhat blended them together. Again, absolutely ZERO shade to them, their idea was great! HOWEVER, it went against the timeline majorly, and it was RUBY’s job as the one who gets the final say to have caught that error herself, but she didn’t because she never thought about a timeline or to make it accurate to begin with. ALSO ALSO, Dissonance, at some point, has some weird quotes that were not thought out AT ALL, and that just make her arguments sound cringe and strange, such as “and what if ‘friendship’ is just an excuse for betrayal”. Like, I’m sorry, but it doesn’t make sense AT ALL.

And finally, Cozy Glow. First of all, me and Ruby had a discussion or maybe 2 on Cozy Glow, where I pointed out some manipulation tactics that Cozy Glow performed in the show, even before her reveal, from obviously following the CMC, a trio who would be very known in Ponyville for their talent and habits, and where it’s also very obvious that a) they’re not in the school of friendship, and b) they’d want to be, to the club house, gave a friendship study problem to THEM SPECIFICALLY, knowing how they’d act, and also all the traits of Cozy being a genuinely manipulative and selfish pony who had been working to develop everyone’s trust from the start, ESPECIALLY Starlight and Twilight’s. However, Ruby disagreed, which, I get it, Cozy IS a filly. HOWEVER, her being evil is quite literally spelled out to everyone who watches the show, like, you’d have to watch the show with your eyes closed and/or your brain blank to not even assume she’s been plotting things, but this mindset Ruby had of Cozy being more genuinely clueless than actually manipulative and evil made both Cozy’s and Dissonance’s behaviour and backstory a little confusing imo. On top of that, her idea for Cozy Glow’s backstory is that she grew up in an Elements of Harmony cult, if I remember correctly, that tried to teach fillies the Elements and values of Harmony, possibly with the intention of making them into Elements. HOWEVER, TIMELINE ERROR, YET AGAIN, the Elements were only known vaguely about and briefly seen by maybe a few ponies over a thousand years ago, and from a book that clearly NOBODY EXCEPT TWILIGHT read or cared about considering nobody recognised Nightmare Moon in EPISODE 1, so WHY is there a cult about them that’s DETERMINED to raise children to EMBODY the elements, when they couldn’t have even known if there NEEDED to be 6 ponies who resemble them all, as, until Twilight came along, Celestia used all of them. Ruby decided that Cozy was 7 in the show, and that she was 14 mentally from her time in stone (which, her being 14 does not make sense because over 15 years would have needed to pass after they get put into stone but whatever, I already talked about that-). And, the cult would have needed to already be established by the time Cozy shows up, and I highly doubt more than 8 years passed from episode 1 of the canon show to when Cozy shows up.

I completely get that timelines can be VERY annoying and can potentially kill motivation. HOWEVER, in the case of this, from the main show, to calculating ages, it was incredibly simple to calculate all of this. And, for people like me, an inaccurate timeline can REALLY break a story, especially if it’s so simple to avoid and so simple to fix. And any potential fixes and explanations I COULD make, Ruby WOULD NOT have had that explanation in mind until it was brought up with her. She’s so inquisitive and one might even say insistent on questioning when it comes to other people’s ideas like “how would that make sense?” But she wouldn’t have thought, and clearly didn’t think, about these flaws, or thought about any flaws of backstory ideas that have a good enough level of trauma in them for Ruby to want to go for it, DESPITE BEING THE ONE WHO SHOULD KNOW THE TIMELINE THE MOSE.

And third of all, which I left for last because this will be the most frustrating part to me, best to last logic, is her helplessness, or, at least, what I consider to be her helplessness. I don’t know what she’s been working on, I don’t know how busy she is with project stuff. HOWEVER, it gets to a point of being absolutely ridiculous. So, I would personally say I’m a helpful person, or, I try to be. I LOVE helping out and helping others. However, with Ruby, even WITHOUT knowing all of the scamming stuff, genuinely having no knowledge of any of that, I started to feel frustrated with it, and her constantly asking for help. I started to see her as a helpless little duck that either just blatantly asked for help, or who gave vague hints in hopes I’d choose to help by saying things like “idk how” or “idk what to do here”. So, as time went on, I went from actually giving help, to resorting to giving simple ideas that were pretty much spelt out to her as she could have followed the animation memes, giving simple responses like “Oo good luck with that” and “you got this”, or even just straight up ignoring her, and I felt embarrassed for her the more I saw it, especially when she posted in the server asking for help on how to draw HER CHARACTERS at different angles. I hate seeing people like helpless, as I REALLY hate when people think I’m helpless, but I can’t help how I feel when I was getting asked for help for things she could EASILY do herself. Every time she said “idk how” or “idk what to do” I felt frustration and I’ve GENUINELY never felt that way when it came to asking for help.

And also, when I made the thumbnail for Ep. 1, I STILL had to help with the mane 6 sketches that SHE was meant to do, when she was using MY sketches, like, looking back, at that point I should have done it all by myself (I can only add 8 of like 18 screenshots to this post)

What I also noticed at some point when I was talking to someone much more involved in this whole thing, and who knew Ruby for way longer than I did, is that she tries to get validation a lot. I’m awful at noticing social things, so I don’t have many examples, but I DO have one example that I can list. In a VC, Ruby realised at the last second when going through editing the audio, that we don’t have a Cozy Glow VA, so Ruby muted. Now, something I do, is I vocal stim, a lot, and sometimes, to vocal stim, I like testing my voice, as the idea of being a VA feels fun to me. I’ve done it with Whirl’s voice a bunch in VC so it can very easily be considered a stim lol. So, while Ruby was muted, for funsies, I quoted Cozy. I was just expecting for it to get ignored and noted as a stim but Jyay liked it. And then Ruby unmuted and said “omg I just did a perfect Cozy impression!” And, I could absolutely be crazy about this, and this is me trying to recall a memory, but I swear there was some hesitation when Jyay said that she thought I could do it, before Ruby then got seemingly excited and told me to voice the lines. I also heard from that person who knew her for longer that she also did similar, if not almost the same, stuff with Cozy again back when someone else used to voice her. And then I heard that, one time, while in a VC, she was talking about singing in a class she was working in, and that “everyone loved/liked it” was the gist of it, which, in a class? Like, in a high school? Not happening. Idk, I think I’m looking into this part, but also pattern recognition go brrr

Anyway, I think that’s all I have to rant about lol. It’s very personal, I know, but I think after having my trust in her betrayed like this, I have a right to be publicly personal about her at least once. Anyway, because of all of this, I kinda ended up ghosting her about my scenes. Mostly unintentionally but then the pettiness and justice in me went brr I CAN BE PETTY AND WASTE PEOPLE’S TIME IF THEY WASTED PEOPLE’S MONEY AND TRUST, OKAY??

If I had to give Ruby a list of things to do to, I would say…

Pay all the people she scammed back, or finish their commission, regardless of if they actually need them anymore.

Stop using AI. That’s it, just stop using it. If you find something on Google and you somehow don’t know if it’s AI, and you only plan to use it as a light reference, then I guess it’s fine, but NEVER generate it OR USE IT IN COMMISSIONS, and never use it as much as Ruby did.

Don’t plan an animation meme where you have a gif to use as a reference so you can make a 14 year old pony shake their ass on camera oh yeah I never spoke on that… oopsie, anyway she did that, she sent me the video herself :3

Learn to rely on herself and her own ideas more. Trust herself to know how to draw Melody’s hair at a different angle or to just follow an animation meme path if she doesn’t have any ‘interesting’ ideas

To plan her stories better

Don’t guilt trip people who call her out. A trusted friend who knew her about 3 years before me, when they were 16, had to call her out in the past, and they remember her saying shit like “I know I’m terrible” which is blatant guilt tripping

Support me if you wanna but you don’t have to lol

Update before I officially post this: when we called her out today (25th Jan 2026) she denied things, admitted to the things she denied, then backtracked again, and did not view what she did as scamming, and, frankly, her behaviour overall was embarrassing to see considering she’s 28. It also turns out she scammed 7 people instead of 6, the 7th person came forward after we called Ruby out, she DMed me asking for the doc as she was concerned she was also being scammed, and at some point she realised she was. I won’t be saying her name and this news is new so I have no proof but I trust her a lot to be honest
