December 29, 1890: The Wounded Knee Massacre

We remember Wounded Knee.

December 29 is the anniversary of the 1890 massacre at Wounded Knee, when U.S. soldiers murdered more than 300 Lakota people, babies and elders, men, women, two-spirit.

The U.S. government awarded 20 Medals of Honor to some of the perpetrators. Those medals still have not been rescinded.

She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and so incredibly patient with me throughout the process. I couldn’t have been paired with a better partner for this fest, honestly. (It also doesn’t hurt that she’s one of my favorite Destiel writers currently active in the fandom; seriously, check her stuff out, it’s absolutely gorgeous)

Lessons I have learned from this project: don’t rotoscope archival footage taken with a shakey camera on 8mm film in Berlin in 1961.
