either dawon was being really naive or pretending that she was not aware of how lucrative and successful her channel can be if she played her cards right. maybe if she spends another ten more minutes with her, ryu would be able to find an answer besides thinking about wanting to go home the entire time. βbecause, little shaman, as senseless as your content may be, kids under the age of 10 will eat up videos like yours every single time. the reality is, kids make a huge demographic of the audience and they are also willing to fork out money for you. that is if you are willing to dip your toes into that market.βΒ
kids will watch anything and everything, especially if it is colourful and loud or spooky and thrill-seeking. even if the contents are staged or faked, do you think the kids would know or complain?Β
no, because kids do not know any better and kids are that dumb, thus making them the perfect group to exploit money from. you think their parents have the time and care to monitor what their child is doing on the internet? exactly.Β
she ignores the little narration dawon is creating about her to take a good look around her for once. there was not much for her to say other than it is what you expect any run-down building to look like: evidence of drifters having made their homes here for a bit by the trash littered along the ground. spray paint on the walls from bored teenagers. things were either falling apart or completely rusted, in some case, some of the things left behind in the school has now become a home for the new plantlife that now resides in the school besides the students. she was sure that there must be some of a metaphor or beautiful quote to be said about the fleeting time we have on earth but she does not care nor is she going to think about it
instead, her focus has now completely shifted to the telltale sound of a door creaking in the distance. for a moment she wondered if she was hearing things, a side effect of being in an odd place with an odd person for this long but judging from dawonβs reaction and expression, that actually happened.Β βyes, that is definitely me using my demonic powers to spook you.β this was her way of trying to not spook the younger any further (probably the one and only time she will do anything remotely nice for her), keeping her expression bored while she continued on moving on forward.Β βwhat, donβt tell me youβre getting afraid now, little shaman?βΒ
she stops by what looks to be a classroom, shining the light into the classroom through the windows first. she winced a little while she opened both doors to the room due to the strength needed to have it budge a little, kicking over the abandoned school books as she stands in the middle of the room.Β βgetting any vibes?β
at this point, dawon was pretty sure that if she would make the headlines someday, being that girl who was eaten alive by some ungodly demon in an abandoned building, then it would be this day she had decided to spend with ryu won. βwho says that my viewer demographic are kids? why would kids even watch this? theyβd get scared! youβre probably the one who has prepubescent boys jerking it while watching your make-up routines.β the way the other was less than impressed with this building, wasnβt afraid of any ghostly appearances and definitely didnβt bat an eye at that door just closing by itself - it was just very unsettling to dawon; plus having the woman almost fight with her now about content and viewer demographics... but after all, obviously, there had to be people who didnβt give a damn about spooky stuff and ms. ryu had to be one of them.Β
with her mouth hanging agape, she watched the other push open some doors, just stepping into a room without any hesitation. obviously, it was like she was extremely afraid; stuff like this would happen all the time. it just made her tense up, her eyes still glued onto the blackness of the hallway, trying to figure out how that door just moved, however now she had to follow along, keeping her eyes on the older woman. βnopeβ, she just whispered, letting out a shaky breath. she stepped into the classroom as well, filming the other just standing there. surely, there would be memes made from this whole video β if it was even usable in the first place.Β
βyeah, i am getting your vibes.β, dawon whispered into the camera, holding it aside as she let her eyes wander over the books sprawled across the floor, trying to figure out what they were about, the familiar sound of another door moving in the hallway taking away her attention. with wide eyes, she turned towards the door slowly, staring into the darkness. taking a few steps back, she stopped at ryuβs side, swallowing thickly. this definitely wasnβt the time to be afraid, having ryu with her and along with her temperament, she wouldnβt dare to do anything crazy. almost speechless, she turned towards the other, raising her brows.Β βis anyone setting us up with this?β, she asked as she pointed towards the door.Β βor do you want to kill me and then blame the ghosts?β

q*οΎ+some days the passion isnβt there, and its so tangible she could feel herself suffocating on screen. theres a lethargy to her otherwise bright demeanor, always known to give a somewhat of an entertaining reaction when playing, but the losses outweighed any victories and anything gained just seemed bittersweet tonight. she ends the stream with a solemn smile and a little wave, promising to see them all tomorrow, and goes offline before she could read what chat had to say about her behavior. it takes her some time to gather her things, leaving her designated streaming room to put all the equipment she borrowed back in their places. just as she locks the door and pockets her keys, the sound of footsteps meet her ears, and a shiver runs down her spine.Β
the building was dim and most lights were off considering the hour, so she presumed that she were alone. let it be a custodian, she wills, reluctantly stepping towards the corner where she heard the noise down the hall. a janitor! a lunch lady! the receptionist! anyone but a goddamn ghoβ she shrieks, shutting her eyes and dropping her bag as she stumbles back from the otherβs sudden appearance.Β βshit,β she curses, realizing who it was and releasing an audible sigh of relief.Β βwhat the hell are you doing here? its three in the morning!βΒ
βitβs my prime time.β, dawon stated bluntly, eyes dropping onto the bag that had hit the floor with an unimpressive thud.Β βyou know, the ghosts come out at 3am.β, finally, a grin appeared on dawonβs lips, shaking her head lightly as she reached down to pick up sangoβs bag, handing it back to her. while she liked exploring places in daylight, just because it was way safer, plus there was less of a possibility to get murdered, her audience obviously preferred the looks of spooky places at night, so she had just come back to the company to bring back some things, maybe edit some more.Β
βi could ask you the same, you know?β, dawon crossed her arms in front of her chest, raising a brow β she was slightly amused and at the same time relieved that someone else worked the same, odd hours as herself. she had thought that sango didnβt really seem like a night-owl to her, just sparking her curiosity. maybe she didnβt know her co-workers that well after all.Β βi was out filming something and just came back.β, dawon explained, pointing at all the camera equipment she had strewn out in the small office space.Β βand i was thinking about editing some more. i heard a door closing and someone walking around, so i obviously had to investigate. soβ what have you been doing until 3am?β

Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β OUT OF ALL THE DAYS INNA COULDβVE FELT UNINSPIRED, it was precisely the day she was supposed to film her next video that she felt it the most. she had arrived earlier that day with a coffee from her favorite shop in one hand and a subscription box in the other. as neat as ever, inna had carefully listed down the activities she had to do for this projectβs completion. the first and second task, unboxing and discovering the new supplies she had to make an artwork with as well as swatching them on camera, had already been done hours ago. itβs the third task whatβs responsible behind her ever growing frustration. sketching.
inna had been trying for hours to create a new character, but the supplies that came in the box had her least favorite color palette Β (yellows, muddy greens and browns and, for some reason, a neon blue). truth be told, she absolutely hated this monthβs box and a part of her regretted spending money on it, but still, she had to make do with it for she had already gotten several questions from her community inquiring about this particular video. after she crumpled the fifth piece of paper and tossed it aside, inna knew she needed a break.
thus, she decided to grab some snacks from the companyβs kitchen hoping the little breather would help her relax. upon noticing that someone else was there, apparently getting either coffee or tea, inna greeted the other woman with a small βhiβ before going to the fridge. the sudden shattering noise has her jumping in her place and her immediate reaction was to look at the source. βwait, be careful.β inna says, not realizing for a second that she had been the cause behind it, before she picks up the bin and takes it to where the mug had broken. βwait, wait, wait.β with a bit of panic in her words, inna frowns when seeing her carelessly taking the broken pieces in her hands. βyou might cut yourselfβ warning is clear in her voice as well as a bit of reprimanding before she places the trash bin on the ground and, with a lot of care, tosses each piece on it. βare you okay?β inna asks, genuinely concerned and prompting the other to look up, assuming the womanβs demeanour was embarrassment because of the broken mug. βyou donβt have to worry about itβ¦ iβm pretty sure itβs happened before and, if anybody asks, weβll tell them it was the editor.β
dawon was cursing herself, to say the least. usually, she could always keep a clear mind, no matter what, even if she was alone in an abandoned building ββ but seeing inna from innalterable in the same room had her struggling to find words. feeling her heartbeat in her throat, she could only manage to see the bin come into her field of view, the otherβs delicate hands helping her out. at that point, dawon was sure she must have been acting like a huge weirdo, not like herself at all.Β
the caring gestures of the other woman made her try to pull herself together, clearing her throat to try to get rid of the knot that had been forming there.Β βiβm fine, sorry.β, she managed to mumble out, carefully getting discarding the shards in her hands. innaβs words made a smile tug on the corner of her lips, dawon giving her a small nod, finally looking up at her. she wasnβt sure how inna could be even more stunning in person, but she definitely was. with her lips agape, she stared at the other for a few seconds, motionless. the willpower it took her to look away and try to pretend to act like a normal person was immense;Β βuhm...β, dawon glanced down again, shoving her hands into the back pockets of her jeans, not knowing what to do with them.Β βitβs just i wasnβt expecting seeing you here.β, she explained. it might not make any sense to the other, but she had to start somewhere, right?Β
and even though she could feel her ears burn with all sorts of excitable sensations, dawon tried to keep her cool and not just jump into the otherβs arms like some sort of boyband-crush-crazed 13-year old at their first concert.Β βitβs justβ i watch your videos. big fan.β, she finally managed to explain to the other,Β βare you okay, though? you didnβt cut yourself either, right?β, she asked with a worried expression, eyes wandering over the otherβs arms and hands.Β
crownslippinΒ·:
βi am always looking good. that much should be obvious by now, little shaman.β why else was she made the center and the visual of her group if she did not have the talents and the charisma to captivate anyone in any given situation? taking the flashlight with a roll of her eyes, ryu takes the lead, looking bored the entire time as she shines the light all over down the hallway. it is exactly what a hallway looks, rows and rows of doors. she does not know what the younger was hoping or wanting to find but whatever it is, she hopes it will appear or happen quickly because this whole ghosthunting adventure is getting stale with every second.Β
how do people sit through these sort of videos? the time they spent trying to experience a supernatural experience through the lens of someone else, that could have been spent on watching her content instead and giving her those extra views and money in her account. she lets dawon to do all the exploring, standing off in the corner and shining light to wherever dawon went for a bit before she got tired of it. instead, ryuΒ focused on shining the light on her shoes, trying to see the state of her sneakers. even if she was to be tossing them out by the night, she would like to avoid doing more damage to it if possible. listen, she is always up for using whatever chance to get new things but she would also like to keep the things she already owns as well, okay?
at the hand she felt on her arm, ryu raised a brow before pushing the youngerβs hand off of her. they are not closing enough for that, sorry not sorry, crossing her arms together.Β βlittle shaman because shamans or shamans in training would be this interested and invested in the supernatural. so you are little shaman and i am reality trying to wake you up from your nonsense.β the sentimentality and the melancholy about the school has ryu rolling her eyes once more because itβs just a building for godβs sake. the next thing she knows, dawon is going to be emotional over the atmosphere of a silent night.Β
she is not paid enough for thisΒ
βyes, i can because it was a school and school were supposed to be filled with students.β stopping at the door that dawon has chosen, ryu lets a loud sigh when she starts bringing questions once more. why does she have so much to ask?Β βnothing. nothing will.β brushing past dawon, ryu is the one to open the door this time around and stepping forth.Β βless talking, more moving. unless you want to head back. to that i say, it will be the smartest decision you will be making tonight.β
it was mind-boggling to dawon how this woman was still alive. how had nobody in the history of humanity tried to strangle this piece of work? somehow she was getting close to doubting that looks could get someone this far, but she knew that probably was the case after all. life was predictable in some ways, sometimes. plus, itβs not like ryu won had gotten that far in her life either, from the looks of it. she let out a long sigh at the womanβs answer at her attempt to at least get something out of her ββ was she surprised? not in the slightest.Β βi wanna see that face of yours after you wake from 3 hours of sleep with no make-up on.β, she almost whispered, wishing the other wouldnβt hear it, even though at the same time she probably should just to slow down that ego-trip for a little. the attempts were probably futile, though.Β
dawon watched the other just stomp around with no remorse of any signs of feeling scared at all, making her doubt if this woman was even alive, or some sort of alien, or maybe ryu won was indeed a demon after all. she rolled her eyes quickly before she followed along, turning the camera at her own face for a moment to pull off an annoyed expression before turning it back towards ryu won with a low sigh.Β βif my content is so senseless, then why are you here, miss ryu?β, dawon asked with a tilt of her head, letting out an amused chuckle afterward. pointing a finger at her own face, dawon continued to speak in a hushed voice.Β βthis beautiful face will make you some money as well. even if i am a little shaman and thereβs no way to help me.β, she grinned at the older woman, walking past her and down the hallway.Β
while the air was stuffy, the building still felt cold, making her button up her jacket for a moment, walking backwards as she continued to film the other.Β βis ryu won going to survive the night in this haunted school? or will she get possessed by a ghost?β, she teased the other, knowing she wasnβt fond of (anything, really) dawon said.Β βor is she the monster, trying to convince me that sheβs human just to eat me up alive at the end of this episββ, a gust of cold air suddenly making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, the sound of a door closing way down the hallway making her stop talking.Β βwhatββ, turning around slowly, she let the camera focus on the darkness laying ahead.Β βare you trying to spook me, ryu won?β, she whispered towards the other.Β
( @innalterableβ )
sometimes dawon would wonder why she didnβt think about things a whole lot. once she read it was more of a thing men would do rather than women, just kind of not bringing things up or asking for further information, even though there are obvious opportunities to get more out of something. and this was kind of a situation like that. it had been a year or two since she had started watching the channel βinnalterableβ on hypehens. the woman she would watch painting, speaking about art utensils she had no clue about and just do whatever, had mesmerized dawon from the start. inna was beautiful, breathtaking, interesting and intelligent ββ at least to dawon. and she had absolutely no idea or interest in art at all. what had started out as a hobby, something she would do every evening just to wind down from the day had quickly turned into a slight obsession.Β
not that she had ever left a comment or tried to interact with inna, nor had she really talked to anyone about her being a fan, it was just sort of her me-time, me-thing. maybe that was the reason why she had never even imagined meeting the woman at the company ββ even though, technically, they were coworkers. how it didnβt cross her mind even once? she didnβt know. she just knew that she wanted to get a refill of coffee in the company kitchen, and suddenly she felt her empty cup slip out of her hands at a familiar, yet strange sight: inna. right there. the sound of ceramic shattering brought her out of her dazed state, in which she had been for a good few seconds, just staring at the ethereal woman right in front of her.
she scrambled as she kneeled down, mumbling some profanities to herself, hands reaching to collect the few shards that once formed a mug. her head felt hot, she could feel herself starting to sweat as she stood back up straight, shards in her hands.Β βiβ iβm s-sorryββ, she stuttered out (god damn it, she never stuttered), eyes fixated on the remainders of the cup in her hands, not daring to lift her head because of the sheer embarrassment.Β
moonlaitoΒ·:
it was one of those days gyuri felt compelled to leave the comfort of her home in order to do one of the most mundane and boring things in the world: groceries. the young female had both arms carrying a couple of plastic bags that dangled loosely at every step she took towards the path she chose to reach the shop in a first place. all that she had to do is to go reversal mode and head back immediately. but sometimes things donβt go exactly as we expect them to.
on her way back, gyuri observed something rather unusual several meters from where she stood. could it beβ¦? despite her brain recognizing faintly traits of the slender figure at the distance, she couldnβt make sure of it unless checking with her very own eyes. live. truth to be told, the place gave her the chills but gyuri couldnβt take the idea that she might have coincidentally met a familiar face off her mind.Β
as she stepped into the building, before even parting her lips to murmur a greet sheβs startled by the sound of a quite cheerful voice that seemed to have known her. relief. it was only dawon.Β βI knew it was you, it couldnβt have been anyone else but you poking at those creepy ass places after all,β the elder groaned, approaching the other female. she paused, contemplating if she had enough time to spare to spent with her friend.Β βare you looking for a ghost? look no longer, Iβm suddenly dead and bloodthirsty.β
βwhat do you mean?β, dawon let out a hearty laugh as she slowly turned the camera towards gyuri with a dramatic shake. βthe only creepy thing here is this bloodthirsty, ghostly gyuri!β, she jokingly told the camera before placing it to the side. she hadnβt bothered to move from her comfortable position until she saw the otherβs shopping bags, slowly sitting up, eyes curiously wandering over the groceries. she wondered how the other could tell it was her sitting around, but then again she had spotted the other from far away as well ββ maybe they could just sense each other after all those years.
βi see ghostly gyuri was hungry.β, dawon let out a chuckle, definitely enjoying her friendβs new nickname. patting the space next to her, offering the other woman to take a seat.Β βiβll help you carry those home later.β, she stated, almost naturally.Β Β βbut, you gotta cook something for me. what did you get?β, dawon stretched her arms over her head as she spoke, raising her brows at the other shortly after.Β
crownslippinΒ·:
how is there possibly being no ghosts an actual complaint? while ordinary people are trying to live their lives hoping that to avoid any possible encounter with the supernatural, here is this little oddball contemplating the various ways she can see one.Β βlet the dead be dead. they are dead for a reason: to not want to be disturbed by the living by kids like you.β what a nightmare it must be for the dead folks lying in their graves. here they thought that they would be able to rest in peace after the pain and the stress of life and then here comes a headache walking in every time a kid like dawon appears. the dead can just never left to be dead, huh?Β
βeven better if the ghosts are gone because that means the filming ends faster.β she might not be getting any sleep but ryu can sense the headache she was going to develop the longer she has to be with dawon. she was about to say something when the noise of the doors opening up interrupts, forgetting all that she wants to say because she is more busy pulling up her scarf to cover her face at the rancid stench coming from the entrance alone. does she really have to step forth in this place? canβt they just go home now?Β
god, couldnβt dawon be a more ordinary girl with normal interests?Β
ryu makes a mental note to herself to throw away these sneakers as soon as she gets home because there is no way she is going to keep a pair of soiled, ruined shoes from a misadventure. she fiddles around in her crossbody in search of something, pulling out her perfume once she finds it and giving it a few spritzes in the air. she can only roll her eyes at the question, wondering why the question was asked when it is such a stupid, obvious question.Β βno, because i love myself and i have better things to do with my time. come on, get walking little shaman. precious time is being wasted the longer we are here.β
βyour motivation is truly inspiring, miss ryu.β, dawon said into the camera as she held it up, now both of her hands busy holding the flashlight and the camera, letting it focus on the rather grumpy being that was ryu won.Β βat least youβre looking good through here...β, she mumbled, a sly grin on her face as she finally panned the camera away from the other, letting it roam over the room. she wanted to get some more shots, but it was obvious that the older woman was about to strangle her if they wouldnβt get going.Β
deep down she was wondering why anyone would watch this womanβs videos if they didnβt want to be miserable, but maybe she might be in for a surprise. she didnβt know as of yet, but dawon was highly doubting that she would get any footage out of this situation that wouldnβt make her cringe later while editing. surprisingly, there was no feeling of regret, just curiosity as to what ryu won had in store for her.Β
βfine, letβs get going then.β, she said bluntly, stomping her way over to ryu, pressing the flashlight into her hand with determination.Β βyou hold the flashlight then.β, the younger mumbled, finally making her way towards a dark hallway. peering down into the darkness, she eyed the different doors, some standing open, some closed, a few old lockers still decorating the walls. for a moment she just listened, wondering how they were going to survive the night. not that she was afraid of spirits, but she didnβt really know how to handle the former idol.Β
with her brow arching, she pulled the other closer, hand on her arm with a gentle grip, once more filming her with the small camera.Β βhow am i a little shaman? are you a big shaman then?β, she wondered, finally taking a few steps down the hallway, a curious hand reaching out to push the door of one of the lockers open, the sound vibrating through the building, but revealing nothing of interest.Β βcan you imagine this place full of students back in the day? must be so long ago...β, dawon wondered, debris crunching underneath her feet as she reached the first door to the left, turning to ryu once more.Β βwhat would surprise you the most? if we open this door, what would make you sayΒ βholy shitβ?β
OPEN STARTER !!!
βiβm showing you where i work today...β, dawon whispered into her camera, the screen close to her face, walking slowly and keeping quiet as to not disturb anyone. βitβs probably not haunted, but... who knows.β, the female continued, letting the camera pan over the entrance hall of the company building. βyeah, this is hypehens.β, she whispered as she let the camera focus on some of the scattered couches and plants. letting herself fall back onto one of the colorful couches, she let out a low sigh, head resting against the back of the couch as she turned her camera to film herself.
catching a glimpse of another person coming closer, she perked up a little, staring past the camera for a few moments. slowly, a smile tugs on the corner of her lips, continuing to whisper into the device. βoh... itβs not a ghost, but a familiar face.β, dawon joked, waving the other person over. βhey, do you want to pretend to be a ghost for my vlog?β
crownslippinΒ·:
someone she thought to look and be innocent from looks alone was dawon. that is her impression about her if someone asked her. she would try to make a comment about the girl but she knows nothing about her, having never interacted with each other for as long as dawon joined the company. there was never any reason or opportunities to given the nature of their contents nor did anything about dawonβs channel appealed to her. the only times ryu ever saw dawon was when they passed each other in the company building and even then, the only thought or impression she could muster up was dawon looked to be someone nice. nice but forgettable so ryu never really paid attention to her or remembered her until her viewers recommended dawonβs channel as a channel she should collaborate with next after she made a poll about creators from different networks she should work with.
she was confused by the name, to say the least (what is even the channelβs name?) and as she pulls up dawonβs channel to watch through a few videos to get the feel of who dawon is, ryu still does not see the appeal of dawonβs videos but she gets why people would like dawon and the videos. the story of a smaller content creator creating and releasing authentic videos that are not mainstream is a story that people will eat up every time and it is no different when she looks at dawonβs channel. ryu questions if this is the channel she wants to collaborate with, knowing that there are others out there who she could connect and vibe with better than this little ghosthunter but the amount of views dawon gets combined with the long-running requests from her viewers for a spooky video is enough to sway her and has ryu reaching out to dawon through her instagram dms for a collab.
there was not much discussed once they started exchanging messages. once they agreed at a time and a place for them to film, they did not chat with one another afterwards because one, there was nothing they had in common and two, ryu really wants to keep this as much of a business relationship than a personal relationship.Β
the things she would do for a few extra views, she swears
this collaboration is meant for both of them to mutually benefit off each other and nothing more. she makes sure to make this especially clear when she finally meets up with dawon at the entrance of the place they agreed on: an abandoned high school.Β βletβs quickly get this over with. the faster you enjoy your paranormal activity,Β the sooner i can give my reactions, the faster we can get more footage, the sooner i can get home and sleep.βΒ
@boohoologsΒ·
there wasnβt really a way to know for her, reasons why, why her, why anything. she just wrote it up to collaborations being collaborations and sometimes they just had to happen. just a business move; she kept telling herself. and it wasnβt like she hadnβt seen ryu around the company building, a few polite greetings had been exchanged before, but she mostly just thought she was one of those girls dawon just really couldnβt relate to.Β
nevertheless, the younger had decided to stay polite, eyes glued onto the taller womanβs figure as she had made her way to the location. dawon had heard of the abandoned high school, but she had never been there herself. thankfully the company paid for the transportation fees this time.Β
just as ryu walked up to her, already complaining, dawon closed her eyes for a few seconds, taking in the otherβs presence. yeah, definitely worse than any ghostly presence. maybe the spirits wouldnβt come out to play with a person with an aura so b i g. her shoes scraped against the debris on the stairs as she walked up to the main entrance of the building, paint peeling off the heavy doors.Β
βyou wonβt be getting any sleep soon, madame.β, dawon finally said, turning back to look at ryu, arching a brow in amusement.Β βand youβre scaring the ghosts already.β, she added on, adjusting the backpack on her shoulders, undoing her camera from one of the bagβs shoulder straps. pushing open the heavy doors with an ungodly squeak, making dawon scrunch up her nose. the smell of old and moist hit her almost immediately, just being able to imagine how much the other would love that.Β
βhave you done something like this before?β, she asked absent-mindedly, fishing out a flashlight from her pocket, turning it on to illuminate the big entrance hall, finally letting it land on ryu, putting her in her spotlight. what a dumb question, she thought afterward, the other definitely would not spend her time in abandoned, smelly buildings. but somehow, that amused her.Β
